We were seated in the back section of the restaurant and service was a bit slow and disconnected. Requested sparkling water multiple times before we finally got it. Food choices and quality was good and price was reasonable.

Our reservation was available when we arrived, in fact, there was only 1 other couple there at 5 PM on a Saturday evening. A few more people came in while we were there. Food is creative, new age, and somewhat weird. The large and varied menu requires a lot of studying. There is something for everyone if you have the patience to find it. Service was very good, in fact, my friend told the waitress to not come back to check on us so frequently. The food was good except for the smoked pea hummous. Just too odd for me but the fried cauliflower served with it was very good. The skirt steak was delicious but the fried rice was oily. My friend enjoyed the clam chowder, raw oysters, and earth salad. We were there before and it was also quiet and not busy. We like it that way. It's a good place to go for a food adventure but not for the picky eater.

Our dining experience was only fair at best. The seating next to the window was drafty and chilly. Our server worked hard but the room was understaffed so she was running between many tables. The food doesn't live up to the menu descriptions in quality or flavor. It looks fancy, but it's just ordinary, nothing special.

Trendy scene, great food, and fantastic service! I've been hearing about E+O for awhile now but it's far from where I live. It was definitely worth the drive and I can't wait to return so I can try out more of the menu, everything sounded and looked amazing.

My husband and I had 6:30 pm reservations. While our food took a while to get to us (understandable due to it being Valentines Day and busy) our waitress Mary was friendly, prompt, showed exceptional service and the food (dinner and dessert) was absolutely delicious. Thank you to the chefs, our waitress Mary and everyone else who worked tonight.

Wow! I have not had so much trouble picking a favorite dish in a long time. We ordered a few dinners and several appetizers and made it into a tapas experience. Every bite was great - but you can skip the crab cake. Don’t miss the bone marrow taco! Try the apple bread pudding. You really can’t go wrong.

Went here with my best friend and had a great time. The waitress was both helpful and attentive. We stayed until close and were never rushed out.

Great food and diverse menu. A bit on the pricey side, but overall you get what you pay for. Drinks are strong and delicious and they have a pretty decent selection of wines. Service has been great the 2 times I've been there and there is something for everyone on the menu. Will definitely be back!

We made reservations for lunch. We were the only ones there because it was just opening, so all the attention was on us! Although they were serving lunch, We wanted the ribeye with chimichurri sauce from the dinner menu and he gladly obliged! You can’t eat there without getting the kale and Brussels sprouts salad - it never fails to impress! We had the popcorn shrimp tempura - tasty... for dessert we had the bread pudding with coffees. I’ve been here several times, and the only course I have trouble with is the dessert. I’ve tried them all, and I haven’t been able to find a favorite. Otherwise, everything else was impeccable!

Used to love this place . Had been there many times and brought new people who also loved it. Food is creative and very tasty. However, the last time we were there, the service was horrific! Wrong food brought out amongst many other things. Totally
ruined a special occasion dinner

. Manager didn't seem to care.

Will not be going back!

This restaurant needs to learn how to take and keep a reservation. We made a reservation for New Year's Eve for 8:00pm. The restaurant called the day before and confirmed. I then later called back and asked to update my reservation to a booth at which time I was told they couldn't do an 8:00 reservation due to their NYE party that began at 9:00. We agreed to move it up to 7:30. When we arrived at the restaurant they said they couldn't sit us at a booth because they were overbooked and our party was only 2 people. They then sat us in the bar area surrounded by windows and it was freezing cold. We asked twice to be moved or the heat to be turned up. They said they couldn't move us to the main dining area. It took 45 minutes to get a drink and a sushi roll. We ended up leaving after just our app and drinks and went to another restaurant for dinner and had a much better experience.

We made a NYE reservation for a table at 730pm about 2 months in advance. When they called to confirm, there was no mention of a special event/private party @ 9. Upon arriving, we saw they had a full dining room and 4 tables across the restaurant set up next to a DJ booth and photo screen, against the cold windows. Clearly a grab for 4 more tables at the expense of guest dining experience. When we asked the hostess to move into the main dining room, she advised that we could wait at the bar but it might be 30 min and we'd have to finish up quick because they had the space rented for an event at 9 and there wouldn't be dining service after that?!? When we spoke to the manager, he smugly told me that they were busy and we were lucky they were able to accomodate our reservation at the agreed upon time - reminds me of a Seinfeld episode about taking the reservation, but not keeping it!
When we sat, there several items they "were out of" - meaning, they stopped making the food on the menu because dinner service was coming to a close...no crispy rice so no tuna app was one, but my favorite was when we asked about the clam chowder, we were told there was no clams, just clam meat?!?! The very bottom of the pot of soup was what she actually offered us, it was crazy. Topper was my "fried" chicken was basically tempura batter on skinless chicken that had cooled and was starting to slide off on top of a pile of COLD mashed potatoes.
It is really too bad because my husband and I have been there a few times and think it is one of the spots in the suburbs that is getting it right, but we'll never be bad and would recommend you all save your dollars for a place that values it's customers more...

New Years Eve Dinner. I made a reservation. They did not seat us in the main dining room, they sat us in the bar area where there was a DJ set up and an apparent buffet being set up also. We sat at one of 4 or 6 tables. 2 other couples came about 10 minutes after us, (7:30) and demanded a table in the dining room. We felt like we weren’t welcome or good enough to sit in the dining room. We had already ordered an appetizer and had a drink. Our server was also the bartender so she was running all over. But very nice! We ended up ordering 2 sushi rolls to go so we wouldn’t get stuck in between someone’s party. Won’t be back there again. Very disappointing

E&O remains our favorite suburban place to dine, certainly one of our overall favorites, and we have dined on four continents. The Brussels sprouts and shrimp salad is a perfect starter we get every visit. But overall we appreciate the eclectic and creative menu (great flavor and ingredient combinations) and generally attentive service.

We have been to E+O many times & it has always been excellent with good service. This time we waited over 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. The server apologized & said our appetizer was on him. But the service never got any better. At the end of the meal, I asked for the manager. When the man came over I asked if he was the manager & he very snottily said no I’m the owner. When I told about how bad the service was, he defended his server saying he had been with him since he opened 5 years ago. Then I suggested that maybe they were just short handed tonight & again he got very defensive & said they were not. Then he proceeded to get more arrogant saying he wouldn’t be this successful if he was doing something wrong b/c he owns 5 restaurants & they are all thriving. He did however pick up our whole meal & said he hoped we would return. We will think about it.

Server ended up being great, it was pretty busy and there were some issues with food. Many mussels were undercooked, but we still ate them bc sauce was good. Spinach salad wasn’t anything special for that price and quesadillas were truly snack size/tiny and they were cold. Also, the sashimi was very thin, not worth price either. There are better items on the menu.
