E&E Stakeout Grill Ratings and Reviews
We always enjoy having dinner or lunch at E&E. The food and service are always up to our expectations and we love the cozy atmosphere. We live in the northern part of the county but we don't mind the drive down to Belleair. Their sister restaurant, Mystic Fish, is very close to where we live and even though their food is also great, the atmosphere at E&E is much better.
Looking forward to our next visit to E&E.
e and e was recommended highly! but my husband and I were very disappointed with our meals. I had the chicken fajita and it was quite bland and the onions were burnt. My husband had the Delmonico steak and it wasn't done the way he asked for and it was chewy and not as expected. We may have been there on a bad night, but we will not go back.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. This busy did not measure up what we have come to expect. Service was extremely slow and inattentive. Waiter missed drink or of one of the guest. And went down hill from there. Food took extremely long time to come out and when it did 3 of the steaks were cool incorrectly. Waiters response was “I didn’t cook them”. Manager made an effort to recover and bought desert. However a free anything is not what we wanted. We are counting on an enjoyable evening with friends. Really missed the mark on this one!!!!
We have eaten here many times. This is not a mom & pop restaurant. I noticed some people complained about the service. The service is a little on the slow side but that's the kind of restaurant this is, it's not a quick in and out. It's really good food and the waiters are not used to people who are in a hurry. If you want friendly service, excellent food and a great atmosphere, you'll love it here.
I must say this is the first time that we were disappointed in the service. We had a reservation, and we were seated 40 minutes past our reservation. They kept saying it was “wine night” and people were not leaving. Not our problem. They restaurant did comp our first round of drinks, which was nice. The service was less than ideal. Her attention to our table was not of the caliber we expect from this establishment. We had to ask numerous times for butter, water, etc. That being said, the food was exceptional.
Brought our mother here for her birthday. Had a phenomenal experience from the drinks, to the food, to the service! Memorable night :) Hubby enjoyed the filet & lobster (lobster was perfection), Mom had the fabulous Prime Rib and I love the fontina Pork Chop! Yumm! The praline ice cream dessert was soooooooo delicious :) Been going to this restaurant for years and never disappoints :) !!!
Nice to look at but we were seated right in front of kitchen entry. People were fighting their way in as waiters were coming through with food. Constant traffic. Waitress didn’t explain anything about specials. We asked about appetizers and got no info. We ordered a “small plate” and it was 2 huge fish tacos! We had them boxed to take home. Wouldn’t have ordered them if we knew they were so big. I ordered short ribs which was glorified pot roast. Hubby ordered steak which was cooked well but no flavor. All in all very disappointing birthday meal for my husband. Would not go back again.
Tommy our server did a fabulous job. Very professional and helpful. Since we have been customers for over 20 years the food was outstanding and the presentation as usual was excellent. However seating was by service station and servers were in constant motion. Hostess unconcerned. All in all E &E is a dining delight and our favorite
Food quality was exceptional, and unique. Not many places to get S. African lobster tail anymore. Dinner took a LONG TIME! We were with great company thankfully....reservation was at 7:30 we were seated by 7:35. Left after dessert and coffee at 10:40.
Our server seemed distracted and in a bad mood, but only made a few mistakes.
1 steak, 6 s.african lobster tails, 1 bottleof wine, a few bourbons, dessert and coffee, with gratuity we were out for $325-ish....and will be doing it again soon!
Never offered the wine list despite asking twice. Had to order an after-dinner cognac 3 times before the had one in-stock. Server never asked if we wanted the lite or full size dinners looks like we got lite as a default. Hostess was gruff, didnt acknowledge us until I said something after about 1 minute of standing there while she kept looking down at seating chart or talking to servers. Had reserv @ 7:30, people (couples) that came in after us seated before us. Seated finally 30 mins later, greated by same hostess with “ok you two follow me” wow...yes sir/madam. Overall food was very good but not spectacular. This was our 1st time here did not make enough of impression we will be back.
I have visited this restaurant numerous times. The last two times, the lights were kept very bright in the evening. Previously at sundown the lights were dimmed adding to the ambiance. Leaving the lights turned up also brings to your attention the horrible condition of the carpet. Some major refreshing of decor is needed. However, food is always great, service is hit or miss depending on your server.
