E&E Stakeout Grill Ratings and Reviews
Have eaten here many times before, keep coming back for more of Chef Erwin's creative wonderful cooking. Great menu selection and their desserts are scrumptious!! The menu prices are fair for the quality & quantity of the food you receive. A great place to take a date too.
Mom and I have been coming here for years. She is 93 years old and this is her favorite in Belleair Bluffs, Fl. She loves the crab cakes and the smaller dishes. Personally, the vegitarian dish is out of this world. Next time I visit from Massachusetts she wants to begin and end the visit at Stakeout.
We had a very nice dinner before another event in the shopping area. We had a early bird meal since we had to eat early. I was a little disappointed there was no beer selection for early bird. $5.50 for a dollar beer is just not going to happen here. The beer choices were not good either. Mostly near-beer. The food was good and the service prompt. I'll limit my use of this place because of the beer.
For our 30th wedding anniversary, I chose the Surf (1/2 Lobster tail) and Turf (filet) with extra veggies on the side. For me, the portion size was perfect (e.g. not huge, no need for doggie bag!) and the meal overall was quite healthy even though the sauce was heavier than I would prefer. Every meal comes with a Caesar Salad, which was disappointingly non-traditional. If you like the traditional Caesar Salad (hand-prepared, tableside with fresh garlic, raw eggs, lemon, anchovies and croutons), ask to see if they can do that for you or you may want to select an alternative. Interesting that they offer wine by the glass in two sizes....6 or 9 ounces which feels much like a "home pour". Overall very good meal, service and price.
We went there for Thanksgiving since it was one of the few open restaurants serving a classic turkey dinner. My wife had the turkey dinner and I ordered a New York Strip. It is, after all, a steak house. The turkey dinner was one of the best I've ever tasted. There was a pervasive hint of maple in both the turkey and the dressing. It was advertised on the menu as such.
The New York Strip was perfectly cooked to my order and the beef was of excellent quality and well trimmed. I would have preferred a somewhat thicker cut of meat but it certainly wasn't skinny.
I'd have to return on a more normal night to see how the food and service is when the place isn't mobbed. I suspect it would be even better than my Thanksgiving visit since the kitchen wont be geared up to make lots of turkey for the many people that showed up.
Even though it was very crowded it was still reasonably quiet thanks to the very high ceiling with acoustic tiling. Great lighting made for a good ambiance.
I'd have no problem recommending E & E Stakeout to a friend and plan on returning there myself.
Food is exceptional, menu is varied and creates interest. Portion size is very good.
Nice ambiance. Most seating is very nice, except in the back by the restrooms....a constant flow of people can be annoying while trying to enjoy your meal.
Service is usually outstanding, but on Thanksgiving the service was less than par, but understandably so.
Reservations are always a very good idea.
We recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family.
I just love this place.
Unfortunately I live in London England so can't eat here as often as I like.
When the wife and I make it to Clearwater we always book in for a couple of meals here.
The wife always has the fajitas which are great, and I normally look at the specials but on both visits I ate off the normal menu.
The prime rib on the Saturday was one of the best I've had and then when we went back on the Monday (no prime rib, only sold at weekends I believe) I tried the bookmaker's which is filet steak with tomato and a sauce (sorry can't remember what it was) and this trumped the prime rib.
Great for a drink at the bar before your meal though the bar can get busy.
Will be back but not till next year ;-(
I had asked for a booth because I was with an elderly person- we agreed to a table so as not to wait - the table was next to the bar and hard to sit comfortably. The room was hot and loud when we entered and by the time we left it was just as loud, but like a freezer. Prime rib was ordered by 3 of 4 persons, they were out (it was before 7pm on a Sunday). The manager told us about the shortage and instead of taking a new order or recommending something, he left and we waited another 20 minutes to reorder. We had to continuously ask for more table water
Went for dinner with a condo-neighbor friend as our husbands attended the Lightning Hockey Game. We were seated right away per our requested reservation time. Our server was delightful and we started our evening with cocktails. Upon receiving mine, it was very weak. In letting the server know, it was graciously replaced with the order the way I had hoped it would be served and the 2nd time was the charm. No fan fare. Just good, quick, professional service. Our entrees included the Strip Steak and the Prime Rib. Both were cooked to perfection and we enjoyed either the Green Peppercorn Brandy sauce or the creamy horseradish sauce as an accompaniment to our meals. Mushrooms were a must and the bread, salads prior to the entree presentation were fresh and very tasty. We ended with a latte for me and dessert for my friend and it was a delightful evening. I do wish the restaurant was in a larger space. I did feel tight in our 2 seater table but do recommend this restaurant for great food and service. I just need a bigger table :)
I took my husband there for his birthday. This restaurant it is a little tucked away in a strip mall, do don’t underestimate the quality of the food, ambience, and service. We love this place! They also have an early-bird menu that starts at 4pm or 4:30pm (can’t remember which). We plan to take advantage of that in the future.
Authentic Delicious Cuisine!!
If you're looking for a different food preparation, come here. This Chef has it going. The combined flavors he introduces are wonderful. Great menu selection!! Everything is fresh, tender and well portioned. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
