Dyron Powell and his wife Sonya love to travel. Over ten years ago, they were fortunate enough to happen upon the lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia. There they found relaxed lifestyles combined with one-of-a-kind culinary tastes. In their opinion, it is the greatest place on earth to slow down and enjoy great food and great friends.

Joined by Executive Chef, Randall Baldwin, they opened Dyron’s Lowcountry Restaurant in Mountain Brook to share their love for the culinary offerings of the region. It’s a place for those who have been to revisit their memories and refresh their pallets and a place for those who have never been to get an authentic taste of the unique foods.

I was craving fish and wanted to keep things low calorie. The chef made slight adjustments to my meal to keep me on track! And of course, it was delicious!

I didn't know I liked Pimento Cheese until last night...!!! Possibly the best (Grit cake) shrimp and grits I've ever had.

Food is really delicious! My favorite thing is the pimiento cheese on the "Appetizer for the Table." I didn't even like pimiento cheese until I ate this. Served with some grilled bread pieces - awesome!!!

Dyron's is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Birmingham area. The food is always fresh, local, creative, and incredibly tasty.

Took my mom and dad there for Easter brunch, and as usual everything was fantastic. The food was really good and fresh using local, seasonal ingredients, the portions were very generous and our server Keri was exceptional.

Fine fresh food and nice staff. Pricey for what you get in terms of service and ambiance, but that is to be expected in Mountain Brook.

Our first time there and I think it really lived up to the hype. The fried seafood sampler was prepared perfectly. I chose the Iron Skillet snapper. It was fantastic. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits. Very good, much more complex than most. Really good food and service.

We had a wonderful evening at Dyron's Low Country. Our server Alex was great. One of the reasons why we hadn't been back in a while was we had a server previously that was real snotty and standoffish. Alex was the exact opposite. He was very helpful and friendly. Three of us had snapper. Mine was a little dry but the sauce and seasoning was delicious. The fourth person in our group had tenderloin and it was great with a wonderful béarnaise sauce. We all enjoyed our salads.

Excellent/efficient/ polite/ non pretentious service and food! Attention and a listening spirit paid to special requests. The only reason I gave a low score for ambiance was because I unfortunately was seated by the door, with the host stand directly in front of me, and a chill and commotion every time the door opened; the table and seating itself was extremely comfortable. The restaurant’s ambiance is actually quite lovely, as you move in deeper beyond the front door, with dim lighting all around. The food is TRULY the star of the show, served fresh, simply, and beautifully prepared and presented! The head chef is (deservedly) proud to walk around, keeping a watchful eye (even if just a glance) on his guest’s satisfaction.

We had visited Dyron’s several weeks ago based on the excellent reviews. My daughter and I had a rare night out and I suggested we go for dinner based on my earlier positive experience. We made reservations and were sitted promptly. We ordered drinks and I ordered the Gin and tonic drink but did not specify type of gin. The server noticed I was not thrilled w/ my drink and quickly replaced. I have to note that it was completely my fault and did not specify so he went above and beyond to notice and replace the drink even though I said nothing negative! On to the food as I was torn over several menu choices, he suggested the rib eye as they were specially chosen by the chef. This rib eye was cooked perfectly medium rare but was tough and had very little flavor-I was disappointed in my choice. My daughter had the burger and it was delicious. We had a wonderful mother-daughter night but I regretted my choice of the rib eye as I usually choose fish!

Best brunch in Birmingham! Blueberry muffins are such a treat. West Indies salad was top notch. My fellow diners had a blue crab omelet and a steak and egg dish. Everything was fresh and a delight to the taste buds. Enjoy!

I had quail on spinach with grilled red onions. It was honestly one of the best meals ever! Highly recommend this dish, but Dyron's is consistently excellent in all aspects. Quite a neighborhood gem!
