Dyron Powell and his wife Sonya love to travel. Over ten years ago, they were fortunate enough to happen upon the lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia. There they found relaxed lifestyles combined with one-of-a-kind culinary tastes. In their opinion, it is the greatest place on earth to slow down and enjoy great food and great friends.

Joined by Executive Chef, Randall Baldwin, they opened Dyron’s Lowcountry Restaurant in Mountain Brook to share their love for the culinary offerings of the region. It’s a place for those who have been to revisit their memories and refresh their pallets and a place for those who have never been to get an authentic taste of the unique foods.

Service started poor but got better as we were finally acknowledged by our server. Hostess way too busy on personal cell phone. Thought $10 a little pricey for small mimosa. Food was outstanding and generous portions. Crab omelette fried flounder and West Indies salad. Music and ambient noise a little distracting. Definitely suggest and will return. Close to memorable experience. Kudos to the chef

I ordered grilled triggerfish. The dish was covered in black pepper and I was unable to eat it. However when brought to the waiter’s attention, the same dish was ordered without pepper and it was very good.

This is our second time to enjoy Dyrons. A great meal enjoyed for my husbands birthday with our 2 mostly grown kids. A nice selection of entrees with something for everyone.

Dyron’s is a gem of a find if visiting Birmingham. Great ambience and romantic setting. Small and quaint. Food is stellar. And the white chocolate bread pudding is an all star dessert.

Birthday brunch was outstanding. The food was wonderful without exception, and Aaron’s service was impeccable. Dyron’s remains a neighborhood gem.

My husband had the Bayou La Batre Jumbo Shrimp & Grits. It was a beautiful dish, it was very tasty and the waiter picked out a wine to compliment the dish. Perfect pairing! I had the Iron Skillet Seared Prime 14 oz. Ribeye, this too was a beautiful dish and was cooked to perfection. The Terra Preta Arugula, Mushrooms, Warm Bacon Vinaigrette just mad the dish more AMAZING. My husband wanted to share the Strawberry Shortcake, it did not disappoint! He said the shortcake reminded him of his Mom's shortcakes and THAT is a huge compliment!

Check them out on Opentable and make your reservation. The Hostess was very nice and was waiting for us when we arrived!

This is a must do dinner place for your next "Date Night"!

I didn't know I liked Pimento Cheese until last night...!!! Possibly the best (Grit cake) shrimp and grits I've ever had.

Food is really delicious! My favorite thing is the pimiento cheese on the "Appetizer for the Table." I didn't even like pimiento cheese until I ate this. Served with some grilled bread pieces - awesome!!!

Fine fresh food and nice staff. Pricey for what you get in terms of service and ambiance, but that is to be expected in Mountain Brook.

Our first time there and I think it really lived up to the hype. The fried seafood sampler was prepared perfectly. I chose the Iron Skillet snapper. It was fantastic. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits. Very good, much more complex than most. Really good food and service.

We had a wonderful evening at Dyron's Low Country. Our server Alex was great. One of the reasons why we hadn't been back in a while was we had a server previously that was real snotty and standoffish. Alex was the exact opposite. He was very helpful and friendly. Three of us had snapper. Mine was a little dry but the sauce and seasoning was delicious. The fourth person in our group had tenderloin and it was great with a wonderful béarnaise sauce. We all enjoyed our salads.
