About Dyrons Low country
Dyron Powell and his wife Sonya love to travel. Over ten years ago, they were fortunate enough to happen upon the lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia. There they found relaxed lifestyles combined with one-of-a-kind culinary tastes. In their opinion, it is the greatest place on earth to slow down and enjoy great food and great friends.
Joined by Executive Chef, Randall Baldwin, they opened Dyron’s Lowcountry Restaurant in Mountain Brook to share their love for the culinary offerings of the region. It’s a place for those who have been to revisit their memories and refresh their pallets and a place for those who have never been to get an authentic taste of the unique foods.

Dyrons Low country Ratings and Reviews
Dined on New Years Eve 2017. Food was very good! Crab claws and gum.bo were excellent choices for appetizers. I had tuna and my wife had the snapper for our entrees. They were both prepared to our satisfaction. My only complaint was that we felt rushed. It was subtle, not like at Red Lobster, where salad, appetizer and entree all seem to appear at once. There was no time to savor our wine and appetizer, as soon as our appetizer plates were cleared, entree was on the table! Perhaps it was because of the date (12/31), but I don't want to spend $150+ for 2 meals and feel that I need to vacate the table for another customer.
Although the waiters were great the service was very slow. We got our appetizer fairly quick, but we waited about 30-40 for our main course. We were given free deserts for the inconvenience. Also, they use some local ingredients and the food was great. I would definitely go back.
We have dined at Dyrons Low Country several times over the years. We tend to go for special occasions because it is such a special place, but I also have a casual dinner out with friends and family too! This is just a great all around place. Very nice restaurant with just wonderfully delicious food, the wait staff is top notch, the ambiance is just right not too casual but not too fancy. We always look forward to a dinner out at Dyrons.
It's rare that I can check "fit for foodies" and "comfort food" when rating the same restaurant! But, this place has pretty much the entire range. If you want fried chicken or even a cheeseburger, it's there. If you want something a little more upscale, you have plenty of choices there as well, particularly with the options for dishes featuring fish.
It can get rather loud; don't go if you're set on a quiet atmosphere. But, that one warning aside, it's a great place.
Sat outside and noise level lower than inside! Not as crowded as normal I guess due to football Saturday night! Food seemed a little off as well as the service! Asked for gravy on side and not acknowledged as well as another guest in party requested no oysters on seafood plate! Both were stated by server no problem but not served as requested! No acknowledgement of mistake! I usually have no problems at this restaurant. As stated was an odd, off night!
