About this restaurant

  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
  • Innovative
Dyron Powell and his wife Sonya love to travel. Over ten years ago, they were fortunate enough to happen upon the lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia. There they found relaxed lifestyles combined with one-of-a-kind culinary tastes. In their opinion, it is the greatest place on earth to slow down and enjoy great food and great friends.

Joined by Executive Chef, Randall Baldwin, they opened Dyron’s Lowcountry Restaurant in Mountain Brook to share their love for the culinary offerings of the region. It’s a place for those who have been to revisit their memories and refresh their pallets and a place for those who have never been to get an authentic taste of the unique foods.

Great Neighborhood restaurant with great food. Chef Randal has a great eve for detail and is very good at utilizing local and regional ingredients and purveyors!

Always a go to. Food and service excellent. A bit noisy, so we go early and are out before the bigger crowds. Brunch is also highly reccomended.

One of my favorite restaurants in Birmingham! The fish sandwich at brunch is amazing, and you can never go wrong with their steak...don't forget their amazing desserts too. Fantastic restaurant!

We were seated for Brunch @ 11:00 am . Not until we were seated were we made aware that Mountainbrook was dry ( no alcohol ) until noon. This was a VERY disappointing discovery, but we got over it. The menu looked good, the pimento cheese appetizer was delicious. The entree’s were dismal. The omelette was a bland mix of eggs (not bad but not good), crawfish ( the most bland crawfish I have ever had), tons of cheddar cheese that melted into pools of grease and peppers that were void of flavor. Did I mention the omelette was bland, and so much cheese that I could barley taste egg. I have honestly had a better omelette at Waffle House. The other members of the party had the breakfast and were satisfied with it, but stated that we will try another brunch place on our visit to Birmingham. The two omelette eaters were disappointed.

We had the seared snapper, grits and crawfish with the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Fabulous! We ate out on the porch which was quieter than the inside.
