Dusty's Wine Bar
I have been a fan of Dusty’s for decades! I met a friend there to treat her to a birthday meal, chosen for the unique spot and comfortable atmosphere. I appreciate the out-of the-ordinary menu items (ie. crepes, a torta) and the opportunity to enjoy the wine samplers. I was disappointed to learn that there are no fondues at lunch and now only the cheese fondue in the evening. I used to order both the cheese and chocolate fondues with each visit! 😀
An additional favorite of this venue is the wine, gourmet and bakery shop upon entering and exiting. There are always delicacies I cannot resist as well as gift items. The desserts, sandwiches and prepared to-go menu items are delectable.
We had a great dinner experience...good food and wonderful service. I also think Dusty’s has the nicest atmosphere of any restaurant in the area
We ordered halibut for our main dish ($42). It was the most poorly prepared fish I have ever been served in my life. Dry as a brick, no flavor, completely an embarrassment to the owners who established Dusty's over 40 years ago. We have gone there regularly, but no more. The offer of a free dessert did not offset the wasted money on what should have been a elegant filet. Alas, it most certainly was not. How any chef could present something so poorly prepared is beyond my imagination.
We love Dusty’s, one of our favorite restaurants in all of Lansing. Always great food and service. It’s always a great experience!
Yes. I always have an excellent meal at Dusty's. Our waiter went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
Great experience for my husband’s birthday. Children’s meals were outstanding! Also, our son is gluten free and your menu was so accommodating. Our server was attentive and terrific!
Consistently good food, with consistently excellence service.
While our dinner was delicious and prepared as exactly as we asked the noise level was so loud we had to shout our order to our server and couldn't even hear each other across the table. Remove the bar and add cloth tablecloths to mitigate the unpleasant atmosphere of a sporting event as opposed to pleasant dinner. Won't be coming back.
Celebrated our 10 year Anniversary at Dusty’s. The food and wine were spectacular.
Service and quality of food has dropped over the years . In my opinion its went from a 5 star restaurant to best a 3 star .
Pleasantly surprised at what a good restaurant Dusty’s is. We moved to East Lansing about a year ago and passed Dusty’s many times. Someone told us it was very good, so we thought we’d give it a try. We will definitely go there again
Delightful evening, good food and great service.
Food was very good and I enjoyed the option of the wine flights. Definitely recommend stopping by Dusty's Tap Room for dessert and a drink for a more casual scene with great neighborhood vibes.
We had an enjoyable late afternoon dinner after attending a matinee at the Wharton Center. Great food and great service. Overall a great experience.
This please is outstanding on all levels. This was my first dinner back in about 5 years and it was even more amazing than i remembered.
Finally, get the espresso machine!!! I am told it is broken for years
Great visit this time, good atmosphere, our waiter was outstanding. Wonderful food and wine!
Excellent service was fantastic
Menu never changes and is over priced.
Tap room next door is much better.
Dusty’s is our favorite destination while visiting East Lansing and MSU. Whether you want to eat light or enjoy a full meal the food, ambiance and service are always great, especially when they know you have a game to make.
Went to the restaurant for New Years Eve dinner. Had an amazing experience! Would highly recommend for a nice dinner.
Brought friends from overseas. We all enjoyed the luncheon selections and the efficient service.
Would love a choice of Palozzolo raspberry sorbet on menu.
Very nice menu with excellent preparation. This was a delicious Christmas Eve meal of cold-smoked swordfish with chimichuri and smoked chicken. Unfortunately, appetizer came after dinner salads.
Christmas Eve Lunch - Great menu with plenty of variety in flavor combinations. Everyone at the table was pleased with their food. Excellent service. A meal at Dusty’s is always part of the visit home for Christmas.
My second time there. Super slow (but friendly) service both times. The place needs to be updated. Reminds me of early 80's. Food was great.
We have dinner here as a family every year on our family Christmas shopping trip. It is a favorite and a tradition. We usually pick up some specialty candies on our way out. Very good, consistent food
We often choose Dusty's for a special but casual meal and are never disappointed.
We were pleasantly surprised by a coordinated effort between our children and the Dusty Cellar wait staff to arrange for a surprise celebration for my wife and I who were out for the evening after my wife had just been awarded her PhD from MSU. Outstanding service and food and most enjoyable evening!
Our first visit to Dusty’s won’t be our last. Food was delicious and the service was great, including the timing of delivery of the courses. This was an anniversary celebration and the staff made it a special occasion.
The food is excellent but the restaurant is very noisy so it is difficult to have conversations. In addition, the service tends to be slow, so make sure you have lots of time.
Dusty’s has slipped over the years. The menu is tired and in need of an update.
Good food, service and experience I would definitely recommend.
My wife and I chose to go here for the first time for our anniversary and we were glad we did! Truly great meal and they brought us our a dessert with 'happy anniversary' written in a raspberry sauce. It was a special night and we will be back for sure!
After game dinner
Loved our first experience at Dusty’s we will be going again , the food was amazing we loved the wine flights ! Staff were really friendly and helpful it wa any hubbys birthday and he was made to feel special .. see you again Dusty’s!
It was my first time there and was extremely impressed. Our sever was excellent and the food was great. Will definitely be back.
Made the reservation and noted it was for an anniversary. Were quickly seated, which was nice and appreciated. The table, unfortunately was terrible. Shoved up against a wall it was more like an after thought then a comfortable spot. Service was slow and food was average. Not worth the high cost and would recommend looking elsewhere for a more suitable special occassion restaurant.
Our server was outstanding! Do not remember her name, but she was perfect. We had a great meal, and will be back.
I've lived in the area for nearly 20 years, and am somewhat ashamed to admit I had never been to Dusty's. We're not "wine people" so that's probably why. However, I decided I waned to take my wife out for brunch someplace nice and Dusty's kept coming up as a recommendation, so I made a reservation. Overall we were extremely pleased with the food. My seafood Benedict was the stuff of legend, and I cannot wait to come back to order it again. My wife's Huevo's Carnitas were quite enjoyable, even if the potatoes were a bit on the plain side - they were cooked, but a nice bit of burn on them would have made the dish perfect. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing and the ambiance for a late morning Sunday meal was perfect. We'll be back.
Dusty's has always been a favorite of ours but not anymore. Our dinner Thursday was memorable in that it was such a bad experience. The restaurant was busy (6P). The bar area which is small was super crowded with people having a good time and lots of drinks, a fairly young group at the bar. Very loud, boisterous, lots of laughing, just as it should be in a bar but not in the area which calls itself fine dining. The group should have been suggested they move over to the Tap Room. They weren't waiting for tables for dinner just happy hour. It was so loud and noisy that halfway through dinner we gave up any possibility of having conversation. Everyone was having to shout to be heard which made the noise level in the room headache inducing. Then one of the staff's family came in with 2 small children running around behind the bar being children again, not the place.
Dinner was sub par, we all had the smoked chicken which was just okay, not great flavor and could have been cooked a little longer. Not what I'd expect from Dusty's. I had dinner there a week ago and it was excellent. The restaurant was very busy but the bar was quiet, we had good conversation all through dinner and never had to shout to be heard.
