We have been patrons of dustys for years. Both the wine bar and the tap room. It’s always been our go to place for special events Last time we were there was last spring. Upon arriving last Friday were quite shocked with the menu. The prices had increased dramatically, the selections were limited, and the sides were grits, polenta to puréed potatoes. No normal sides like potatoes or no rice. The portions were very small and the plating and presentation were not pleasing to the eye. I ordered the braised short rib but it was very small, no vegetable and I requested potatoes because I cannot stomach polenta. Theo were at least willing to do that. The braising sauce “bled” totally into the potatoes and it was unappealing. The meat was tasty but the portion very small and not worth $45. I am a small woman but a man would be left starving. My partner ordered the half chicken and she said that was very good and she liked the grits but also agreed that the prices were high and selections limited. I do not understand not offering a starch of some sort. I noticed someone being served the salmon, in the past one of my favorites. The customer complained of the tiny portion and the 3 stalks of asparagus for what he was paying. They were out of the ravioli. No doubt because it was the least expensive item on the menu and the most normal. We enjoy different but overall we’re quite disappointed. We will return but will definitely be better prepared by checking the menu first. We didn’t in the past because we knew it was a dependable choice. We were told a new chef started just the week before. We understand a new chef wants to bring in new ideas and dishes but maybe one or two at a time. I would recommend but let them know how much it has changed and the prices. Service was outstanding as usual.

Nearly half the menu was not available. Steak was not cooked to ordered temperature. The entire restaurant was in a flux over the lack of food available. Apparently the new chef was in the process of changing the menu. I can understand flipping the menus with a new chef, but at least have some of your new items as specials. The wait staff was trying to g hard, manager was out of state. We have been regulars for years, sorry to say never going back.

For the price!! Service was not great!! The shrimp appetizer was over cooked and really fishy! Super loud in the dining room! And the steak was good but come on $80 for a NY strip! At that price I would have expected a step up on all levels!

They changed their menu a couple days before we had dinner there. The new menu did not have as many options to choose from. We were told that much of the entree choices were actually appetizer size portions. We ordered the salmon, shrimp, and steak. The food was good but not excellent for the price. There was no bread service which was disappointing. My son, a skinny 18 yr old, was still hungry when we left. Overall, I would not recommend.

Dusty’s has always rested on their laurels….. never changing their menu. But now it is not even recognizable. Service was fine but the menu has shrunk even more than their post Covid menu. The physical menu looked like it was typed up in the back room. Hope you like asparagus because it comes with every entree. Prices were U.N. believable! $60 for one double lamb chop? That’s $15 per bite!. My companion ordered the veggie plate. It consisted of a wedge of squash and cauliflower…. Completely dry. Will not be returning.

Nov 1, 2023 was the roll out of a new menu (possibly chef, I didn’t quite catch what the waitstaff said). Had the halibut and filet entrees and pork belly for a starter. Overall good food, will definitely try again.

This is the second or third visit. Food was good. Strip was excellent. Second time for the duck and stuffed portobello , both were good. Service was fine- seemed like they could use some more help (every business' issue). Luckily the bus person was able to get us the things we needed. We will come again, one of our favorites when we visit East Lansing.

The food was simply amazing and very fresh. The service was outstanding which made the overall experience even better. The lamb meatballs were very flavorful and Hanger Steak was cooked to perfection. The chimichurry sauce was right on point. There is nothing bad to say about this place. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Our server, Lauren, was great. She checked on us regularly without being overly intrusive. The food was delicious. We had the lamb meatballs, charcuterie and pecan and pepita salad with chicken. We have eaten at Dusty’s previously and never been disappointed. We highly recommend Dusty’s.

We wanted to get away from campus after move in day. We loved everything about Dusty’s. The salads were crisp and fresh. My husband had the chicken and said it was one of the best meals he has had in ages. Stuffed portobello was delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Simply SUPERLATIVE food and experience. And not just "for Lansing area," but period. Dusty's used to be our go-to restaurant for fine dining, back in the 90's and early 2000's, before we moved to a different state. This was the first time we'd been back for at least 15 years, and the food and service were INCREDIBLE. Colton was our server, and was EXTREMELY attentive. And the food was top-shelf. The fig and gorgonzola flatbread is a flavor BOMB - a fantastic WOW combination of sweet and savory. My wife and I both took our first bites and went, "OMG....this is SO GOOD!!!" And the entrees were equally excellent: she got the Korean braised beef (truly melt in your mouth), and I got the mushroom stroganoff. Both were piping hot and delicious. One of THE best measures of exceptional food is when you take a bite, and then immediately turn to your dining partner and say, "You HAVE to try this!!!" We BOTH did this, throughout the meal. And the key lime pie with macerated strawberries gets our mutual vote for BEST KEY LIME PIE WE HAVE EVER HAD, ANYWHERE. Side note: we've taken the last year, since pandemic, to go out once a month to different restaurants, mostly in the Birmingham AL area (where we now live), but also in Portland, Seattle, and Chicago. And our dinner at Dusty's ranks as one of THE best food and service experiences we've had (out of close to two dozen). A+++ THANK YOU Dusty's!!!!

We hadn't been to Dusty's for a couple of years and were very happy to see the food quality and ambience is as good as ever. It was my daughter's first time to Dusty's and for her birthday dinner (she got the filet) she was very impressed.

Party of 5 for my daughter's birthday. Son-in-law ordered the filet, med-rare, it was well done. That meal was comped. We had the Cheese & Charcuterie. One of the meats tasted rancid. We told the server and asked what it was, possibly supposed to taste that way, but we gave up after asking three times. I had the sirloin, the beets were the best thing. It was noted when I made the reservation that it was for a birthday, but that was never brought up. We've patronized Dusty's for years, though not so much since covid. The food and service is a far cry from what it was in the past. I doubt if I'll ever go back.
