Roasted Eggplant, Garlic-Herb Cheese, Asparagus, Tomato- Herb Chutney, Dusty's Rice Blend
We enjoyed the meal. Please bring back the bread before the meal. I think pricing of meals reflect having a little bread before the meal?
Otherwise keep up the great work!
Strip steak flavorable but tough
Dusty's Cellar is a place that we went to when we first met in East Lansing. We were in the area for a wedding so we decided to try it again for nostalgia. Overall the experience was good. However, I ordered the duck breast entree and it was lacking. The risotto was dry and lacked flavor, the sauce and accompanying veg etc didn't compliment the dish and the breast itself seemed like it had been seared and browned earlier and possibly reheated to order? Ive eaten a lot of duck breast and sadly this dish wasn't well done. The gazpacho soup was wonderful as was the dessert. And, my partner was happy with his Hanger steak. Service was crisp and efficient. For the price the duck breast needs work. The restaurant itself was just as I remembered it and seemed to have been very well maintained.
The food tasted ok, thought the price was a little high for what you get.
I especially loved the eggplant dish I ordered! Our waiter was very attentive and I love that we didn’t have to ask for our water glasses to be refilled!
It was great. Meal was super, food was fantastic. Valentines Day is always good at Dusty’s
Service was slow server seemed lost and maybe there was 10 other people in the restaurant. Won’t be heading back soon, was disappointed
We go there once or twice a year to meet friends and it is always good
Dusty’s has been one of our favorite restaurants for over 30 years. The ambiance is warm and friendly and the service outstanding. Our server was excellent and my filet was delicious. My husband had the special mahi mahi and was very pleased.
The food was super good and the waitress was so nice and helpful! Fun atmosphere for a fancy night out!
The waiter recognized that we were visiting with our friend and gave us plenty of time. He was great.
Particularly excellent service at lunch with great food and lovely ambiance. Keeps me coming back!
The manager accommodated our group of 8 although reservation was only for 6. Food was better than most I have had in Lansing area and wine prices were reasonable. Service was slow, because of new waiter and busy evening, but all were friendly and trying hard. We sat on patio which was surprisingly not noisy and we could talk even though we were at two adjacent tables.
I brought a dear friend from Boston to Dusty's for a drink and dinner. He was genuinely impressed, and I was validated in my choice. Sam was an exceptional waiter with attentiveness and deep knowledge of wine pairings.
Very nice meal. The rack of lamb was perfect. The duck breast was nice, but the sauce too sweet.
The setting is enjoyable. Great unique selection of entrees and drinks. Really good for a date night!
Our meals were delicious and went beyond expectations for our guests. It is always nice to introduce new friends to Dustys.
Great place to have a reunion with friends on both sides of the state. Good and service was excellent!
All went well, but I was puzzled when I walked in — when I made my reservation, Open Table indicated that nothing was available until 11:15 AM - the place was nearly empty - very few other guests began to arrive until 11:30 AM.....
Food is consistently good. I had the 3 cheese pasta and my husband the clam chowder (filled w/ clams). Both very good. Allie, our server was friendly and on top of things. I asked for a dry, mineral finish white wine. She allowed she had been off and new wines arrived. So she talked to the bartender and was excited to bring me a wine that she thought I would really enjoy and I did! She enjoys her work.
We arrived at 5p before other customers and had reservations. Initially we were seated in booth leading to kitchen and bathrooms. I am glad my husband suggested we move, knowing this would not be my preference. Also, one of the staff was still sweeping the carpet and it as a little annoying. Music was playing fairly loudly at the time and was turned down after we requested. Other customers did not start arriving until around 5:30p so it appears 5p is early for the evening. We’ve been to Dusty’s many times and consider this a mild glitch however. And Allie made up for it w/ her energy!
Great food and great service- always
This was a real.hidden gem we just found on a trip back. Great food, ambiance, unique menu. Great wine selection. Would be great if you could buy the wine at cellar store, and pay corkage fee, but still great selection...
Great service and outstanding food
This is one of my favorite places to dine in the EL area. Relaxing atmosphere, great food. We had the cheese fondue for an appetizer and brought about half of it home for the next day's lunch. My salmon was just wonderful, and I think my husband enjoyed the eggplant, too.
Everything was great! We had a new server, but he’s learning.. Other than that, outstanding!
The food is fabulous! The chicken was perfectly browned and the stuffing was flavorful. The dining area needs some work to look nicer, but it’s okay overall. Our server seemed new and was very nervous, but he was nice and met most of what we needed in a timely manner. A favorite of ours for date night, we highly recommend the food!
Thank you! Met with two dear friends from opposite sides of town, enjoyed!
received what I ordered which is nice. Rare meant rare which is also nice. asparagus was cooked to perfection. mashed potatoes were tasty and appropriate for the meat selection.
smoked whitefish appetizer was too liquid for my taste. chips were too spicy which obscures the delicate white fish flavor. try crackers
house wine: cabernet is outstanding and very high value especially for price.
service attentive and prompt. courteous and accommodating.
price is what I expected
avocado poached eggs were delicious.
waffle was cold, had to be replaced ---server was very willing--by then sausages were cold.
server was very obliging and did his best
Dusty's Wine Bar is still one of my restaurants in Michigan, largely because of its food quality, service, and overall value. However, it is getting a bit tired. The interior of the Wine Bar is largely the same as its been for at least 20 years, and the atmosphere lacks the energy it once had. In short, it's starting to show its age.
A bit noisy. Food was very good and great service. Will come again.
I would continue to recommend Dusty’s as a dining option, however on this particular night we were disappointed. Two of us had the smoked chicken and found it difficult to cut and poorly seasoned. We will likely return as we have had previous positive experiences.
Was dinner night with my wife and Dusty’s never disappoints. Food and service were excellent.
Excellent service. Good food.
We’ve been Dusty’s Customers for 25 yrs. & probably won’t be going back ! The prices are outrageous for what you get . Their food quality has gone down & dinner choices are very limited ( roasted duck should be able to be served w/ an orange sauce or something other than one w/ seeds in it for those who can’t eat seeds ). They used to have awesome seafood pastas & their signature torta rustica. Too bad - was a nice place to go but $30-$39 is way too much for what you get !!!
Terribly noisy. I’ll give credit to the hostess for moving a large noisy table to the outdoors area.
Drink service was slow. I didn’t get my first drink until well after the first course was served. 20-30 minutes after ordering. They need a second bartender.
Otherwise, the food was good and our waiter was pleasant.
Dusty's is one of the very few choices of wine bars with associated dining.
High level menu. Fantastic slow roasted beef. Service was also slow; could tell they'd cut a lot of people (we were in pretty late).
The food was really good, but the menu has not changed or offered new choices in quite a while. And the service was slower than typical and expected. There was a scheduled event going on at the time, but they should have been prepared for that. Instead those in the main dining area had longer than usual waits.
