Dusty's Wine Bar
We’ve been Dusty’s Customers for 25 yrs. & probably won’t be going back ! The prices are outrageous for what you get . Their food quality has gone down & dinner choices are very limited ( roasted duck should be able to be served w/ an orange sauce or something other than one w/ seeds in it for those who can’t eat seeds ). They used to have awesome seafood pastas & their signature torta rustica. Too bad - was a nice place to go but $30-$39 is way too much for what you get !!!
Terribly noisy. I’ll give credit to the hostess for moving a large noisy table to the outdoors area.
Drink service was slow. I didn’t get my first drink until well after the first course was served. 20-30 minutes after ordering. They need a second bartender.
Otherwise, the food was good and our waiter was pleasant.
Dusty's is one of the very few choices of wine bars with associated dining.
The food was really good, but the menu has not changed or offered new choices in quite a while. And the service was slower than typical and expected. There was a scheduled event going on at the time, but they should have been prepared for that. Instead those in the main dining area had longer than usual waits.
We've been to Dusty's many times and always enjoyed our visit. The food we had this time was well prepared but overall the menu seemed boring. It has the usual steak and other meat options, a vegetarian choice and good gluten free options but, unlike past menus, it had nothing unusual that said "we have to try that!" That said, if you want a well prepared meal, even if of the same ole, same ole variety, Dusty's is hard to beat.
Especially Aaron, great guy and fab recommendation on wine🥰
Superb service, wonderful atmosphere, delicious food! I’ve enjoyed both celebratory and casual meals here!
This was a hugely disappointing meal. It began well with a fish starter followed by salad and glasses of Gruner Veltliner. After this it was a precipitous downhill experience combining an indifferent waitress (who had a talent for disappearing for long stretches of time) with two Whitefish entrees which were as dry as leather--and even drier slivers of almond strewn over the top of the fish.
We would have returned the entrees had the waitress made an appearance after she brought our meal. However, the next time we saw her was with the bill.
This was my first time to Dusty's and it won't be my last. The service was top notch. We had lunch before Hamilton and the server was respectful of our time.
The food was superb.
Absolutely outstanding as we have come to expect. Our guests liked it so well I am sure they will return as well.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit. She had hangar steak and i the salmon. Both were great.
I have been a fan of Dusty’s for decades! I met a friend there to treat her to a birthday meal, chosen for the unique spot and comfortable atmosphere. I appreciate the out-of the-ordinary menu items (ie. crepes, a torta) and the opportunity to enjoy the wine samplers. I was disappointed to learn that there are no fondues at lunch and now only the cheese fondue in the evening. I used to order both the cheese and chocolate fondues with each visit! 😀
An additional favorite of this venue is the wine, gourmet and bakery shop upon entering and exiting. There are always delicacies I cannot resist as well as gift items. The desserts, sandwiches and prepared to-go menu items are delectable.
We had a great dinner experience...good food and wonderful service. I also think Dusty’s has the nicest atmosphere of any restaurant in the area
We ordered halibut for our main dish ($42). It was the most poorly prepared fish I have ever been served in my life. Dry as a brick, no flavor, completely an embarrassment to the owners who established Dusty's over 40 years ago. We have gone there regularly, but no more. The offer of a free dessert did not offset the wasted money on what should have been a elegant filet. Alas, it most certainly was not. How any chef could present something so poorly prepared is beyond my imagination.
We love Dusty’s, one of our favorite restaurants in all of Lansing. Always great food and service. It’s always a great experience!
Yes. I always have an excellent meal at Dusty's. Our waiter went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
Great experience for my husband’s birthday. Children’s meals were outstanding! Also, our son is gluten free and your menu was so accommodating. Our server was attentive and terrific!
Consistently good food, with consistently excellence service.
While our dinner was delicious and prepared as exactly as we asked the noise level was so loud we had to shout our order to our server and couldn't even hear each other across the table. Remove the bar and add cloth tablecloths to mitigate the unpleasant atmosphere of a sporting event as opposed to pleasant dinner. Won't be coming back.
Celebrated our 10 year Anniversary at Dusty’s. The food and wine were spectacular.
Service and quality of food has dropped over the years . In my opinion its went from a 5 star restaurant to best a 3 star .
Pleasantly surprised at what a good restaurant Dusty’s is. We moved to East Lansing about a year ago and passed Dusty’s many times. Someone told us it was very good, so we thought we’d give it a try. We will definitely go there again
Delightful evening, good food and great service.
Food was very good and I enjoyed the option of the wine flights. Definitely recommend stopping by Dusty's Tap Room for dessert and a drink for a more casual scene with great neighborhood vibes.
We had an enjoyable late afternoon dinner after attending a matinee at the Wharton Center. Great food and great service. Overall a great experience.
This please is outstanding on all levels. This was my first dinner back in about 5 years and it was even more amazing than i remembered.
Finally, get the espresso machine!!! I am told it is broken for years
Great visit this time, good atmosphere, our waiter was outstanding. Wonderful food and wine!
Excellent service was fantastic
Menu never changes and is over priced.
Tap room next door is much better.
Dusty’s is our favorite destination while visiting East Lansing and MSU. Whether you want to eat light or enjoy a full meal the food, ambiance and service are always great, especially when they know you have a game to make.
Went to the restaurant for New Years Eve dinner. Had an amazing experience! Would highly recommend for a nice dinner.
Brought friends from overseas. We all enjoyed the luncheon selections and the efficient service.
Would love a choice of Palozzolo raspberry sorbet on menu.
Very nice menu with excellent preparation. This was a delicious Christmas Eve meal of cold-smoked swordfish with chimichuri and smoked chicken. Unfortunately, appetizer came after dinner salads.
Christmas Eve Lunch - Great menu with plenty of variety in flavor combinations. Everyone at the table was pleased with their food. Excellent service. A meal at Dusty’s is always part of the visit home for Christmas.
My second time there. Super slow (but friendly) service both times. The place needs to be updated. Reminds me of early 80's. Food was great.
We have dinner here as a family every year on our family Christmas shopping trip. It is a favorite and a tradition. We usually pick up some specialty candies on our way out. Very good, consistent food
We often choose Dusty's for a special but casual meal and are never disappointed.
We were pleasantly surprised by a coordinated effort between our children and the Dusty Cellar wait staff to arrange for a surprise celebration for my wife and I who were out for the evening after my wife had just been awarded her PhD from MSU. Outstanding service and food and most enjoyable evening!
Our first visit to Dusty’s won’t be our last. Food was delicious and the service was great, including the timing of delivery of the courses. This was an anniversary celebration and the staff made it a special occasion.
