Durant's Ratings and Reviews
Durant's is a great place with a unique feel for the Phoenix area. All the food is amazing with the steaks being exceptional so I will definitely be going back. I would recommend it for a special occasion just because you would be hard pressed to get out of there with two people for under $100. A nice dinner for two with drinks and a good tip will run you between $200-$250.
Bone in ribeye is outstanding, every bite bursts the same amount of flavor. Strawberry shortcake is phenomenal, one of a kind dessert. Crab Macncheese is unbelievable, tons of flavor. Bar staff is awesome and drinks are made perfectly. Huge selection of liquor including top shelf scotch along with my favorite tequila Clase Azul. One of a kind dining experience, feels like a time capsule back to the 50s!
The waiter put us in the "bar" area where the noise level was doable. Noise in restaurant was awful and we couldn't catch up with our friend.
Food was good, came out in a nice time area.
Would come again; however, would have to consider the noise if we wanted to visit.
We have lived in the Phoenix area for several years and never heard of Durant's until the past year. Went for our anniversary and have decided it is our "go to" place for fabulous service, atmosphere, martinis, and food. There is no better. We have lived all over the country, and in our opinion, Durant's tops the list in fine dining, service and atmosphere. The coziness is wonderful, no tv's, no loud music, etc. Old school and perfect!
SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD,, FOOD WAS WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU RECEIVED ,, EVERYTHING WAS EXTRA,,, FOR IF YOU WANTED CEASERS SALAD OR CERTAIN VEGETABLES , SALAD FELT LIKE IT WAS OUT OF A BAG AND NOTHING SPECIAL,, FOR THE PRICE OF MEALS SHOULD NOT BE CHARGING EXTRA
Durant's is amazing. We heard about it from the local Channel 10 morning newsgroup. With commuter traffic raging, it took us over an hour to get there. It was WELL WORTH IT. Great atmosphere, great menu, great food. I had the ribeye, my husband had a filet, our friends both had prime rib. We shared appetizers with our friends. Artichoke dip and the best chicken livers. Desert was perfect. The strawberry shortcake was a work of art and my cheesecake was rich, creamy and perfect. The cocktails were great. The real highlight of the night besides all that wonderful food and drink was our server, Lonnie. It was our 49th wedding anniversary and our friend's 53rd. He was attentive but mostly he was adorable, funny and just made the evening perfect. We were in the mood to have a good time and he just made it better. Thank you Durant's for being perfect and thank you, Lonnie, for giving us an evening I will not forget.
This was a business “thank you” dinner for a job well done. There were eight of us in total and four had never been to Durant’s before. You now have four new fans as well as four more reinforced fans! This establishment has always been one of my all time favorites and Monday nights dinner was another great meal. Steaks were all perfect, service was excellent as always and the wine was perfect. For those that don’t know, Durant’s is a “one off” vs. a chain. It is unique and you will enjoy your visits here regardless of the occasion.
We’ve enjoyed this restaurant for 30 years with family, friends and clients. For the first time, we were deeply disappointed. We were seated in an empty dining area directly next to the only other party in the room, as time went on our server was assigned too many tables and couldn’t accommodate everyone in a timely fashion (not his fault), my so-called chicken piccata was something from a fast-food eatery, and the prices have risen to NYC/London/Paris levels. We’ve loved this place so much for decades that we’ll be back, hoping this was simply an off night, but we were very sad.
Host wanted to rush us to a table...had to repeat we had an Open Table reservation. Upon seating waiter announced we had a great table for a "walk-in". Most obvious that Durant's caters to the regulars. Excellent cocktails and wine selections are the only positives. Average supermarket cut of steak tastes no different than your home grill and the prime rib is absent the bone regardless of cut ordered. Uninspired salad, bread and deserts. This restaurant survives on its past reputation. Quality does not support the exorbitant prices.
