What is there to say about Durant's that hasn't already been said. Great food, great atmosphere, and a sense of Phoenix history. Once you experience Durant's you will return, like MacArthur did to the Philippines.
Durant’s was fabulous. Service, food and ambiance was perfect. This was a Christmas lunch with special long time friends. For some, this was their first visit to Durant’s and it exceeded their expectations. We will definitely return to Durant’s in the future.
As usual the food was outstanding. That's why we return. Service was average, but I thought the server had to many tables for which she was responsible. The entire staff was pleasant and so were the holiday decorations. Very festive!
Classic and consistent excellence! Always a treat and worthy of 6 stars if possible. Can't wait to return.
As usual, it was a wonderful evening.
The staff is always amazing, and make everyone feel special. Truly an enjoyable, slow paced meal that makes dining relaxing.
Great after theater dinner at Durant's. Our cozy booth was perfect. We got just the right amount of attention form our server. The food pace was perfect as well. All the food including the prime rib was done to perfection, warm and delicious. A great quiet place for a special dinner.
One of the best experiences I’ve had in many years eating out. Everything was perfect. We had Corey as a server and I would definitely request him again.
Excellent service, superior food, wonderful ambiance. An unforgettable experience. Simply incredible!
Cool dinner experience! Great food and service!
May try it one more time. Durant's is a destination restaurant -- high end and expensive. When we dine there I expect the food to be as good as the service and ambiance. This time it was not. My steak was way overdone and my potato was not hot and fresh. Not what I expected of Durant's.
This is quintessential Phoenix! This restaurant should be an absolute requirement to visit when moving here and to a greater degree for any visitor.
Always a great go to. Food is always outstanding.
Greg was awesome. Steaks were bland but cooked perfectly. Dinner was expensive. Won’t be going back.
Excellent food very knowledgeable wait staff love the atmosphere in the restaurant I think a tad pricey but overall terrific
One of my favorite places! I celebrate my birthday here every year. Their steaks beat Dominick's for sure. Enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Service is always good!
Wonderful.. Always is!!!!
Originally shown to a booth right by the kitchen. There was no problem moving us though we did end up at a slightly smaller booth table. Wife commented that the gimlet she ordered was one of the best she’d ever had. Everyone happy with filets they’d ordered-cooked as requested. I really like my Delmonico - perfect medium rare. No room for dessert. The best part was that we were not hurried in the least
Classic, old school, and everything you want that goes with that kind of restaurant. The steak was amazing. Definitely expect to pay a pretty penny, but worth it for a very special occasion.
Excellent on all fronts; the drinks, the food, the ambiance, the service - overall a great experience. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I was a little worried because we had a group of 5 adults and 2 children (age 8 and 6) celebrating one of the adults' birthday, and while everyone (including the kids) dressed up, I didn't know if we would catch dirty looks or be turned away. Luckily, since the children were dressed well and well behaved, there were no issues. Then I looked around to see other patrons wearing T-shirts and baseball caps, which just ruins the experience. Durant's has done a wonderful job keeping it "old school" classy with the decor and the waiters wearing tuxedos/vests and bow ties - it would be great if they would enforce a dress code on the customers so I'm not eating a $50 prime rib next to a guy who looks like he just stepped out of a Wal Mart. Just say "no shorts, sandals, hats, and collars required". I would say jackets required for men after 5 (like a lot of old New Orleans joints do), but I realize this is Phoenix and that would probably turn a lot of people away, god forbid you look nice when eating at a nice restaurant...
Durant's is where I go to spoil myself for dinner while visiting Phoenix. Expensive? Yes. But to me, worth it. I enjoy the ambiance, the food and the service -- the entire experience is just so much fun and so gleefully decadent and retro. My only complaint this time, and it is a minor complaint at best, is that I felt ever so slightly rushed - I was seated at 7:30 PM on a Sunday and was surprised that the place was not as busy as my last Sunday night visit -- but perhaps that was due to the upcoming Thanksgiving Day holiday. So it's not like there were a lot of people waiting for a table. But, again, minor. The shrimp cocktail was cold, the cocktail sauce was delightfully spicy due to extra horseradish, the salad crisp and my prime rib a perfect medium well. Desert (apple peach cobbler a la mode) and piping hot fresh coffee rounded things off. Yeah, I spent $100 (including tip) on myself and didn't even have a cocktail. But I'll do it again next time I'm in town and enjoy it just as much.
This restaurant has been a Phoenix staple for years I loved this place it is wonderful food and service we loved it and will be back we both had prime rib which was cooked perfectly
If dinner was less than outstanding, it wouldn't be Durant's.
The prime rib and rib eye were excelent. The service was top notch. The overall experience was great.
We loved the ambience and tradition. It was loud though. Difficult to hear at our table.
Another great dining experience at Durant's. They know how to treat their customers to a fantastic meal with stellar service. Our 4 person party all ordered steaks that were cooked perfectly. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, Oyster 1/2 shell, & shrimp cocktail for apps - great. Strawberry shortcake & creme brulee for dessert - amazing. Recommend highly ahead of the pricey chain steak joints. Cheers!
As always Durant's doesn't disappoint. By far the best steak in Phoenix And you can't beat the throw back atmosphere.
Perfect. Gregg was very personable and attentive. Thank you!
We have been fans of Durant’s for years but this visit wasn’t up to par. The food was good but the service was not. Our waiter just didn’t seem to care about serving us, a table of three that had drinks, steaks and deserts. When we arrived and were seated it took 15 minutes to get drinks because he said the bar was busy. We didn’t have a problem with that as it is not unusual there. What really got frustrating was how our waiter would fawn over a couple directly across from us with unusual attention and conversation. However, when he was done with them he would not come to our table to check on us. Multiple times we had to get his attention for refills or other needs. After desert we sat there for nearly 20 minutes waiting on him to return. Upon his return we had to ask for our bill which was wrong. Being so frustrated and not wanting to wait for another 15 minutes we simply paid it and left. We were very disappointed with this trip to Durant’s.
Durant's is a cozy Phoenix staple for traditional "Rat Pack" Steakhouse dining. Everything is good.
Durant's has always been a favourite for special occasions. My parents were in town from "Back East", after running a senior golf tournament in Yuma. One of their players knew they were coming to see me in PHX and recommended Durant's to them. I explained to them that my partner, Sam, and I always came for birthday or Christmas. I jumped at this opportunity to come back. Sam always got the chicken livers, and I know my mother loves those, so I encouraged. She LOOVED them, but too much! I always get the chicken marsala (no mushroom)...never disappoints! Our family had hotel/resort in the Poconos for over 50 years and my mother questioned about any red tableclothes or strange wallpapering (as Great Grandma Julian would NEVER allow that). I assured her, "Oh yeah, this is totally the bomb with the red mafioso decor from NY/NJ!" We definitely enjoyed. Your establishment produces and presents wonderful food, a great menu, and the staff is exceptional! Thank You.
Dinner at Durant's is quite an experience. It's like stepping into a time machine. The food, while a little pricey, is first-rate. The service is attentive and thorough. Everything we had was excellent, from the calamari appetizer to my whiskey sour to the 18 oz. ribeye I had for dinner. If you want to impress a friend, girlfriend or relative with a classy dining experience, take them to this Phoenix landmark.
Classic steakhouse. Old school. Everything is superb. The complimentary bread is special. Staff has been super friendly both times we have visited here. Will happily go again and again
Very New York. Busy on a Monday night, good service, great food, old steakhouse feel with class.
Love this place been here a ton never had a bad experience I would recommend to anyone who wants a good steak
Super busy Saturday night and we felt like the only table being served.
Great service, food was very good but for the price it wasn’t EXCELLENT. Prime rib was just prime rib.
Crab claws, soup, salad, cocktails and service were EXCELLENT! Thanks Corey.
Always love dining at Durant’s when we come to Phoenix, such a highlight! Service is always great as well as the food!
Our food was delicious and enough for 2 more meals! We started with the Oysters Rockefeller (shared) and then my husband had the Chicken Livers and I had a Caesar’s Salad w/grilled chicken. All excellent! It’s expensive but worth it. My only complaint is the noise level in the restaurant was extreme — we had very LOUD diners on either side of us - so much so that even though we were sitting right next to each other in a booth, it was difficult to hear. The room is small - the noise is big.
