Nothing but the best. Local Downtown Icon
Another great meal at Durant's! It is a Phoenix tradition, and a great place for a blow-out meal. Our server this time was particularly good.
Always the best place to be with great service wondeful food as well amazing atmosphere.
They made me a life long customer my first time in. Cant wait to go back, the food and drinks were awesome and the staff made everything better. I can definitely see why its a Phoenix staple!
Loved the food!! Will be back again the service was excellent as well!
The service and ambiance was really good but the actual taste of the food was just ok for the price. The Chicken Piccata was dry and didn’t have any real flavor
Best pork chop ever! Old school -classic style.
Upscale pricing with great attention to the patron. A classic atmosphere
The. Best. Steak. In Phoenix!
Best porterhouse in the valley They want more characters but the meat says it all. The oysters Rockefeller were also great. Too full for desert
Fabulous as always.
Been going thru the kitchen since early 70s & have never once been disappointed. Good for many social options .
Amazing old vibe steakhouse
Fantastic at every turn! Their steaks are second to none!
Durant's is a classic experience on its front. And the experience begins the moment you walk in the back door. Everyone was specifically cordial and welcoming. My most significant disappointment, however, is with the quality of food for the price. Understanding that one pays a bit for the name and the history, I was underwhelmed with the entrees. Having visited numerous Class A restaurants in the Valley...the price tag on the dinner, in comparison, was simply not worth the taste and experience. I might return...but the likelihood is not high...there are too many Excellent venues in the greater Phoenix area.
We were very pleases with our waiter Andrew and would recommend him and Durant's to anyone that asks.
The food was great and we will return in the future.
I’m a very disappointed as I put down it’s for my wife bday and we got no bday wishes nor the cake. I guess you can say that we’re disappointed because we didn’t get free cake, but spending $200 for 2 for dinner I’d at least expect a bday wish. Anyway not sure this is Open Table app false or Durants false.
It’s Durants. Every other place should copy their model. Outstanding food. Servers willing to do what it takes to make sure you have an incredible experience. Ambiance that makes you feel lile gou made it. Great job as always.
Food was great and good service until the end when we waited way to long for check. We we're seated in the bar area. The table was cramped for a party of three.
Durant’s is one of Phoenix’s Finest!
Superb Food & Service
Great experience! Can see why it has been around since 1950
SERVICE & FOOD are always excellent at this restaurant. We really enjoy the atmosphere as its not so modern and cold feeling. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at Durant's and unfortunately the dessert did not meet up to their usual standards. THis was a disappointment as in the past the wedding tower dessert had real strawberries and a lot of whip cream. The wedding tower cake served us had frozen strawberries which were hard to find in the dessert and limited whip cream That was our only disappointment to this lovely evening.
One of our valley favorites great food and atmosphere -cheers 😃
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary while visiting family in the area. We had very high hopes after reading such recent, rave reviews, but after discussing our experience together the next day, we both decided that Durant’s was the most expensive “average meal” we’ve ever eaten. We have enjoyed many nice steak dinners in various cities, and we always try to visit highly-rated, locally-owned establishments before going to any chain restaurants. That said, we we know what we like and we know what is exceptional quality. Durant’s had a great atmosphere and we loved the history behind it. The staff was pleasant, but probably not as attentive as they should have been (I ran out of water a few times). We really enjoyed the bread before our meal, but we were not wowed (at all!) by our dinner plates. My husband’s T-bone (cooked to medium-rare) had an unappetizing, whitish appearance and his mashed potatoes, served in a ramekin alongside, didn’t seem very fresh, and were likely just pulled out of a warming oven (the top looked somewhat dry). I had the 8 oz. prime rib cooked to medium and a side of vegetables, and everything tasted fine, but I kept thinking that it just reminded me of something I could get at an Outback Steakhouse—and for significantly less money. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they treated us to a free dessert, which was very nice. We chose the chocolate brownie which was beautifully presented and tasty. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience for us. We were both just expecting a much more memorable, above-average meal for the price. Hope this review is helpful to you.
This is a very special restaurant. It is reminiscent of old time steak houses. Red carpet and red flocked wallpaper. The service is first class with semi formal dressed wait staff. Like going back in time to elegance. The food is outstanding. Really a treat. Great for special events or important meetings. Not like any other fine dining restaurant in the Valley.
Had a nice filet and a great prime rib. Side of garlic mashed potatoes was good, baked potato was just average, or below. Dinner salads were mediocre and the dressing was too heavy. Old style restaurant is very nice inside, pleasant atmosphere. Prices were a bit too high, probably to help pay for all the flowers. $60 for the filet was a bit much. Good steak but not the best I've ever had by a long shot. Sense is that they do beef pretty well, but the sides -- not so much. Nice that some sides are included, but the value drops when compared to the overall price. Close, but no cigar. Exterior could use an upgrade.
Just a little disappointed in the filet. Was not cooked properly, had to send it back and still not quite right.
Outstanding service and a perfectly made piece of prime rib served in the ambiance of the glamorous landmark. It doesn't get any better than Durant's.
We go at least once a year to Durant's. Its enjoyable to have a nice dinner and a drink in a relaxing, cozy environment. I especially enjoy the ambiance and the décor. We will continue to go as long as we can. The steak is delicious.
I have been going to Durant’s since I was a child in the 50s with my parents. Still always the best. We always love it there. The food is top notch but the service is even better. Still love it.
Friends of mine who used to live here moved to New Zealand several years ago and I wanted them to go to Durant's since they'd never been when they lived here. We enjoyed the meal and they enjoyed the atmosphere. I was slightly disappointed though when I mentioned to the waiter that my guests were from New Zealand. He greeted them and welcomed then but I sort of thought that perhaps a manager would come over to our table and give them a personal greeting. That's fine though. I wanted them to enjoy the Durant's experience.
We went for our anniversary and were seated in a quiet corner. The service was excellent and the steak melted in our mouths. Plus it has that old time fine steakhouse charm that I love in the west.
The staff was on top of everything.
The appetizers were delicious we had the calamari and muscles they were amazing
For dinner we had the filet mignon, Rivbeye, seafood pasta and catfish. All of the entrees were delicious! For dessert we had crembre and strawberries shortcake
I am so glad that a friend recommended this restaurant.
Everything was perfect!
Thank you for a great anniversary dinner!
We will definitely be back next time we are in town!!!
While this was a birthday celebration, our friend did not want any big fanfare, so the desert choice "on the house" for her was a nice touch. Class Act. Food was great, as always, and our server, Nathalie, was awesome.
My grandma and I wanted to try something new for our last dinner while she is here and I found Durante’s on opentable, and man we were not disappointed!! From our appetizers to dessert, to the ambiance and the service! 5 stars all the way and would definitely recommend and come back. (:
I met a friend for lunch there and was surprised that you can actually enter through the kitchen which was very clean filled with happy people making food. That's unusual in a restaurant. Our meal was delicious.
We had plenty of good conversation because there was low noise level and xcellent service!
we were treated like regular guest. the manager showed us the bar area and made recommendations for our next visit for seating. I like how the tables in the booths pulled out to allow easy access for all to get in the booth. also the manager and the waiter gave us a brief history of the restaurant and explained the gold plated shoes on display. I notices that several other tables were celebrating birthdays and it was nice to see young and old people in the eating area. over all the price of our dinner was lower than I thought it would be and they gave us a free desert for my wife's birthday. we will be back
Always a great meal at Durant’s!! We plan on spending many more evenings there!
Always a great spot for a business lunch. Food and service are on-point.
We had been planning to go to Durant’s for ages, and finally made it on a recent trip to Phoenix. It is an experience. Ambiance is old school...though no idea why they they have lenter through the kitchen. The service was spot-on, the martini was perfect, and the food was excellent. Be prepared to drop $200 plus for drinks and dinner, but you’ll surely go home with another meal, unless you’re s big eater! Our experience was dampened a bit by so many folks in shorts and sneakers, and one man in a baseball cap! You’d never seee that in a fine dining establishment in NYC.
