Dupont Italian Kitchen
Making reservations was absolutely pointless! The restaurant was filled to capacity, the staff seemed unbothered and dismissive of our reservation, seated several parties WITHOUT a reservation before us, and merely suggested that we wait at the bar for 30 minutes for something to open up......I walked across the street and found immediate seating. I’ll probably NEVER go back to DuPont Italian Kitchen again.
Went for a Saturday afternoon lunch with visiting guests. I haven't been there in years. Great food, great service, and great prices. Just as I remembered.
My only reservation ( not a pun) about recommending this lovely Italian restaurant is NOISE LEVEL making conversation difficult and hoarseness-inducing.
Went there since it was a place that had a shrimp pasta on the menu. Food was disappointing. Caesar salad was chopped oddly making it hard to eat. My daughter got shrimp alfredo for $20. There were 5 shrimp on it. I had the pasta puttanesca which was ok. I make it at home and wanted to compare and should not have. Service seemed to be a rush.
The food was good. Everything else was not. Although the dining room was large and empty, we were seated at a small table for 2. The silverware was dirty. We were seated against a wall (also dirty) and our menus had food spots.....would not return
Very friendly and charming spot for delicious classic Italian fare. Tender, crispy calamari, crunchy tasty garlic bread and the bolognese was outstanding! Service efficient and attentive.
It was nothing special, I went online to find a place that had pineapple on their pizza in which they advertised they did. My daughter is a very picky eater. We got there and they did NOT have pineapple. Warm beer... nothing fancy.
Food and location was amazing. Service was a little lacking, and server was rude to my mother.
Overall would go again, would prefer a different server.
Great Food Nice Place Great Service Love the specials
Pleasant service, linguine with clams & mussels was average.
Absolutely outstanding food! Great location! Great service!
Lots of tempting menu choices so it's hard to decide what to eat. Our waitress was very tolerant while tried to make up our minds. The portions are generous and the food is very tasty. Conveniently located for a pre- or post-theater meal when seeing a show at Theater J. We'll be back.
Great food good price
Choose to go here as we were on holiday and saw some good reviews on trip advisor. The starters were a good size. I had a really good seafood pasta special, I really enjoyed it as there was not too much sauce and could taste the individual elements of the dish. The service was nice and quick and I liked the outside seating area.
Was really disappointed this time around. Moved from DC a couple of years ago and returned for a conference. Went to one of my favorite restaurants only to have condescending and poor service, which is unusual for this place. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted for dinner and instead of the server making suggestions or giving me a few more moments, he shrugged and gave a "come on, figure it out" message with his hands and body. Everyone has a bad day, but I'll think twice about returning.
Dupont Italian Kitchen is a revered staple of the neighborhood. The food is always reliably delicious, the service friendly and prompt, and perhaps best of all, the prices are REASONABLE, which is such a rarity in this city. Menu specials are also wonderful and inventive and add a nice rotation to the standard Italian staples. As a DC native, this is one of my local treasures!
Linguine with shrooms and sun-dried and spinach was excellent. House red not so much; returned that for better wine.
Waiter nice. Food good.
Lots of menu choices, good food, and prompt service. But very noisy.
Great food , seated right away and excellent service.
Always solid tasty food. A neighborhood staple and gem!
My group of 3 had nothing but positive things to say about the dinner and atmosphere! Delicious overall.
Were touring colleges, restaurant close tour our rental in DuPont circle. Great night for sitting outside, prices reasonable, food ok not great, enjoyed our waiter, would try again.
Solid, inexpensive red sauce kind of place. Big portions, nothing special.
One of my favorite restaurants in Dupont Circle. Always great service, and great food for a great price.
Dupont Italian Kitchen and its upstair bar are nice. Dinner is reasonably priced. The restaurant is great for a date night. The bar hosts amazing karaoke events.
Solid Italian near DuPont Circle. Excellent eggplant parm. Friendly service.
Attentive waiter, yummy food. Would go there again!
Server was not too pleasant when we asked to split bill. They automatically added a not deserved $34 tip for him and we were only 4 people.
Eine tolle Adresse um in guter Atmosphäre zu schlemmen. Ausgefallene Gerichte mit wechselnder Tageskarte. Sehr aufmerksamer Service. Absolut empfehlenswert.
Good place in Dupont for reasonably priced, tasty Italian dishes. The food is great, service is solid, and the ambiance is wonderful. We sat upstairs, where I had never been before, and it has a great, cozy selection of tables by windows there. All in all, great place for special or everyday occasions.
This was a nice Italian restaurant. I enjoyed my eggplant parmesan, and my boyfriend enjoyed his seafood linguine. It was affordable, our server was great, and the table settings were pretty. It was fairly quiet and low-key. There was nothing very unique or trendy about the menu--just tasty classics.
This was a great choice for a last minute family dinner with menu items everyone would enjoy and also affordable. All of our dishes were amazing, our waiter was very attentive and quick. We were offered a table in the upstairs dining area since the downstairs was full; which turned out to be fine as other diners with children and larger parties were quickly seated there as well. My only suggestion would be when using the upstairs dining room in the winter months, that they check that the windows are tightly shut or insolated since most of the tables are adjacent to a window and there was a very cold draft coming through the windows. Almost all diners checked to see if the window was completely closed.
Dupont Italian Kitchen is relaxed and fun and always delivers excellent service. One of my neighborhood favorites.
great value... good food, good price.
THE CHICKEN PARM was very good. ONION SOUP COUL HAVE HAD A LITTLE MORE CHEESE ON IT FOR MY TASTE.SERVICE WAS GOOD ATE EARLY.
My first visit here and I was very pleased. We were seated immediately. For DC the prices were spectacular in my opinion. Everything ordered was more than delicious!!! I will most definitely visit again when in town.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Ate there whilst on vacation. Was pleased by its pricing, which was very reasonable. Service was efficient and friendly. Seafood pasta was loaded with pasta and a delicious marinara sauce. Loved eating outdoors. Enjoyed a European experience without splurging on airfare.
Always good. Friendly staff, attentive service and great selection. Food is always good.
Lovely Italian restaurant with comfortable view of Dupont Circle; nice place to leisurely have brunch. I have eggplant parmigiana with all the trimmings. My friends had the brunch menu. We were all very happy with our meals, the service and the drinks.
