We had a wonderful dinner with many selections from which to choose. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive and the ambiance was lovely! You could talk to each other without the music overpowering your conversation, but the music was pleasant also. Food was excellent and perfectly done.
We love this restaurant, always friendly staff, great service and great food. Beautiful fireplace and atmosphere. This is a neighborhood gem and srounded by beautiful trees.
Service was amazing! Food was excellent!!!
This restaurant is consistently a nice place for dinner. A bit pricey but the atmosphere is casual and warm. This time of year the fireplace offers a lot of ambience. Its quiet and the service is good. Something that is often missing - servers either hovering or missing. The atmosphere makes it a good place for discussion around the table. I have found the food on several visits to be dependably good. I recently had their pork ribeye while my wife had their crab chicken. Both dishes were very good while the volume of food was sufficient. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Michigan City area.
Normally good food so we decided to try last minute for New Years Eve. One of us had beef wellington just average in taste and the other Prime Rib (very bad) which tasted like it had been beaten to make it tender. The consistency was awful. It was not Medium Rare as ordered. Took it home for son to try and even he didn't like it. Not sure what happened this night but not our best meal ever there. The staff is always very nice and it really is great ambience. We will try again but a little disappointed for such a nice evening.
I would not recommend this restaurant if you have gluten or dairy allergies.
Our server was not knowledgeable about the menu offering or methods on how food was prepared.
Though it is a charming setting.
This was our first time here; it won't be our last. We loved everything about it!
We always enjoy Duneland. We wish we had the time to stay overnight! Great place and great people.
We drove in from Hammond for Thanksgiving. We loved it...the place was adorable...service was great and food was great. We will be going back soon !
I️t was a wonderful meal and great service! Highly recommend!
Comfortable cozy atmosphere w excellent food and service
The food and service is always great at the Duneland Beach. It is a well kept secret in a Great neighborhood. I brought my 9 year old granddaughter there for dinner to celebrate a wonderful report card. They treated her like a queen. Thanks to the staff to make it a memorable evening for my granddaughter. Outstanding job!
Went on a Friday evening with my dad who is hard of hearing - he thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and lack of background noise. We did fix pris menu, which was a nice meal at a value price. My husband got the mussel dish and found it to be so-so. Carrot cake was delicious, but have been taken out of refrigerator 30 min before serving.
A medium-rare hamburger was served well done. Server offered to bring another, but that was inconvenient because I had a companion. Manager offered complimentary dessert, too, I admit.
Pianist was atrocious.
Real disappointment -- seemed to revel in mediocrity ( except for the busboy, who was the only employee on top of things).
Wonderful service beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! Unique!
As usual great food and great friendly service. The best of the best
The menu is always eclectic. They pair foods that most would not try. Sometimes it's a good combo. We tried the fix pris menu. It was good. Small portion. Drinks were as much as the meal.
Food is always great. On this occasion the restaurant was extremely busy and a little understaffed so service was a bit slow. But you can't beat the 2-for$26 deal! Ribeye pork steak was amazing!
The place is lovely, the service was excellent, the featured wine was terrific and a great value.
The food, for the most part, was really good - my husband got the fried chicken and I got a salmon special. I ate part of my salmon and then noticed that the thicker portion was uncooked. I know salmon is often cooked to medium and that would've been fine but this was really rare. My husband's chicken was fabulous! Until he got to the thigh which was also rare.
We would try this place again with some tweaks in our menu choices. They were very gracious and charged us only half for our entrees and gave us a free dessert. Once again, lovely place and nice people.
Quiet and good food. Service was phenomenal! Great placed in a tucked away area!
We had an excellent dinner here. It was very enjoyable. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.
Happened to find this lovely inn/restaurant when perusing Open Table. What a find! Easy to reserve a table for the same night for two. We opted to sit outside and the patio area was lovely. Service was never rushed but we never felt neglected, either. Enjoyed a leisurely cocktail before ordering. Many unique combinations on the menu and some very tempting specials, but we both chose the Mediterranean platter appetizer (olive tapenade, bruschetta, and baba ganoush--delicious, though I didn't understand the crispy pita triangles, would have preferred soft pita) and the lake perch. Breading was light, as advertised, and even gluten-free I believe. Served over a basil risotto that was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Inexplicably, we were the only people in the restaurant. So it was no surprise that service was prompt and attentive, and noise level was only of our own making.
We tiik friends for their anniversary and had a wonderful time! Great service, wonderful food and pleasant surroundings!
My husband had dinner at the Duneland Beach Inn last Sunday. It was a beautiful night and we had a table on the terrace. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The entrée portions were very generous. Both our entrée were daily specials. We will go back.
I ordered the ribs which were very good, a friend ordered chicken which was also very good. Our wives ordered gray snapper which was disgusting. We told the server who did absolutely nothing, didn't even offer an alternative.
The service started off poorly when we found out there were specials available but were not told by the server and went down hill from there.
This was my 3rd or 4th visit to this restaurant and I hope it's not declining. I was surprised that it was only partially filled on a Saturday night and the bar was totally empty.
Always friendly great service and food. This restaurant is neighborhood Gem and unmatchable food and service.
This place doesn't have the best service, but I think it's the owners responsibility. The staff really seemed to be very hard-working.
Service went from bad to worse, and no one seems to care.
Our first time there, wonderful food and service. We will be back!!!
Had a very nice evening dinner here. Definitely made up for the last time we were there. I will add though that two of our guests were vegan and the only options they had to eat was the side salad and French fries. We weren't aware of the dietary restrictions at the time we place the reservations - just would have liked to have a more varied menu to include more vegan options.
Otherwise, service was great and the rest of the food was delicious. Thanks!
Great atmosphere, very good food, good service, actually loved the place.
Very pleasant surroundings for a quiet dinner. Our waitress did an excellent job. She was very welcoming and attentive without hovering. Our two meals were excellent. Nice presentation and excellent flavor.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner! Excellent food and service in beautiful surroundings by the beach.
As usual this restaurant is top of my list, the best restaurant in town, great service, great food and it is absulatly a neighborhood Gen.
The staff is friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating is very nice. The menu selections looked promising but sadly fell short. We both got the house salad, which consisted of 3 pieces of butter lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes with a sprinkling of feta and black olive rings. My husbands fish was burnt and his vegetables were a pile of mush. I got the mussels and fettuccine. The mussels were decimated along with clumps of noodles in a watery butter sauce. The carrot cake was good.
Against our better judgement, we decided to try it again for breakfast the next day.
I got the quiche which was actually a frittata and seriously overdone. My husband got the crab Benedict which made him pretty sick after eating it.
Great food and great service always. One of the best restaurant in town, unmatch service and atmosphere.
I went on travel advisory for a cozy place to dine in Michigan City. We drove from Chicago .
It exceed my expectations !!! The staff was warm and helpful.
Please try this gem by the beach, it was worth the drive.
We had a delightful dinner outside in the patio. The food was great and the service friendly. Overall a really nice experience.
Cozy inviting dining areas (3 not counting the bar) two fireplaces for ambience and good food menu with a broad choice what is not to love!
