Showed up for reservation and restaurant was closed. There was a note on the door the stated "sorry we are taking a break, will return September 16th". I was not contacted by the restaurant whatsoever. This was a suprise anniversary dinner and we drove an hour for nothing. I called and emailed them with no response as to how the can make amends. It was a Saturday night, we called around all other fine dining establishments to be told they were booked. Had to settle for a low end restauraunt. So there we are eating at a low end restaurant dressed up in suit and her a dress.The food was really bad. Read all reviews about this place. DO NOT GO!
I’ll start by saying the inn is beautiful and the ambiance is gorgeous. We were excited to try this for a date night! We sat on the patio on a beautiful fall night. Our server appeared new in the industry but no big deal everyone has to learn. We are tolerant people and patient. Drinks and food came relatively fast no issues there. There were only about 8 other tables seated late dinner. The wedge salad and French onion soup were good, not great. My husband got the halibut special, he thought it had very little flavor and overcooked. I got the Canadian white fish, better flavor but a little charred. We will definitely give it another try though as we loved the location and atmosphere.
Excellent food service and ambience. We had the double pork chop, chicken piccata, whitefish and perch. All entrees excellent

A reluctant return visit after swearing off the place for surly bar service and mediocre food. New team is in place and they are doing a great job. Matthew our server shared his commitment to make the place great again and we believe. Definitely on the right track. We will return happily.

Beautiful tiki lit outdoor patio for social distance dining, and gorgeous indoor dining room with plenty of space if the weather was bad. Perfect martinis, delicious seafood bisque, wonderful pasta entrees. Kitchen timing was great, and server team was a delight, even the trainees had the right attitude.

In this time of the pandemic, my husband and wanted to enjoy a nice romantic meal. We haven’t been to a restaurant since March. The waiter was to chatty. I really didn’t want to know his personal life or the fact his girlfriend is the bartender. He highly suggested the Halibut. We both orders that. The rice was more the consistency of a mashed potato. The so called slaw was a tasteless mess. Neither worm or cold. As we were finishing dinner the waiter said thanks for ordering the Halibut. Because of you! I won a bet with my girlfriend about who could sell the most halibut. Never once did he pour a a drop of wine. Simply opened the bottle sat it down and walked away. We were very disappointed. Won’t be back. We were looking forward to an intimate dinner. Not not idle conversation with a waiter.
A delightful evening in the garden terrace of the DBI. If you like a Manhattan, order the DBI Manhattan. A perfect combination of food, drink, service and ambiance. Will definitely be back soon.

Very nice restaurant and good food
Enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Friendly service with attention to detail. We immediately felt as Covid Safe as possible.
It was a Monday night so I felt it wasn’t as crowded as it could have been compared to a weekend night.
My suggestion is the perch—delicious and a perfect sized portion. However, a couple people had suggested the fried chicken.
Reservations made for this restaurant to be sure we wouldn’t be turned away — just in case.

The food is delicious and the outdoor patio is quite charming. Beware should you choose to share any dishes though. Split charges are ridiculous. Neither waiters nor menus mention them; they just appear on the bill. That, of course, makes it difficult to question after having an otherwise most pleasant dining experience.

Everything was just ok. Nothing stood out from the service to the food. Expensive for food to just be ok.
Dined here during a weekend get away to New Buffalo. Great food, great service. Upscale but not pretentious. Perfect for a beach community. Our group had Pasta Primavera, seafood pasta, NY strip and the salmon. All were great. Covid processes were present but in obtrusive. Off the beaten path but worth seeking out.

- Bus boy admitted that he had not been trained how to stack and clear used dishes, so he took one plate at a time
- By the time our cocktails got to us, the waiter had spilled 1/4 of the drink
- When the waiter brought our plates of food, his fingers were literally in our plates (bad enough when there is no pandemic going on)
- 3 cocktails and a glass of wine took 25 minutes to arrive and the place was practically empty
- The food was mediocre at best
The owners and managers either don’t care or are clueless, both of which are not a good thing and is reflected in the service and food.

Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is it took 1.5 hrs for brunch and there wrre only 3-4 other tables! Otherwise, food, prices and outdoor setting were great!

We walked in and there was probable three tables seated. The setting is beautiful but the service and food was not so good. In fact I would never recommend this place.

The food was good, however if it wasn't for Juliette, the server, the dining experience would have been worse. Both the bar and the kitchen took an extraordinarily amount of time to prepare both drinks and entrees.

we went to the Duneland beach inn for a Mardi Gras dinner. We ordered from the special menu and found that the food was deliciously prepared with just the right amount of New Orleans spices. It was served hot and came quickly after our order was taken. The waiter was very competent and looked out for our needs
Unfortunately we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. This restaurant should be full all the time. People are missing a wonderful opportunity if this is not explored

One of the best places I have been to. Great service. Fantastic Food and the ambiance is very nice.
Everything was terrific. Quaint, classy spot in the woods but near the beach. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was outstanding. Ribs, filet, pork chop and seafood were all top notch. Kudos to Duneland for doing it right.
Food was not good, tasteless and overcooked. Our server was trying to do a good job, but she hasn't had training. Other than her no one smiled. The management has no clue how to run a restaurant. Much confusion among the staff. It is a shame, the place is darling. We wanted to like it, but couldn't. Might go back when there is new management. Nothing here worth returning for.
My husband and I had dinner and stayed here over Valentine's weekend. It was so sweet and cozy. I'd definitely stay again!
Saw some good reviews and thought this looked like a very unique hideaway to try for dinner. Ambiance and the vibe of the place was really cool. Unfortunately, the food and service could not match it. Granted, it was Valentine Day evening and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. After waiting awhile to be seated, the server was friendly and attentive. Cocktails , I though, were good. We ordered and appetizer and a salad and neither showed up before the main course did. Not sure if that was the server or the kitchen's fault though the table right next to us had the same problem. That was pretty off putting. My wife and I both had the prime rib, which was tender but certainly not very flavorful. The twice baked potato was very underwhelming as it also was very plain Jane. We also had a chocolate cake dessert which tasted very dry. Overall, the food and the service mistakes were very disappointing and certainly not worth the price that we paid.
I am gonna try and keep this short and sweet. This place has excellent food and just as excellent drinks. They were even willing to make a virgin version of one of their drinks since I am pregnant.
Go check them out. The staff is beyond friendly. Get the Bill's Chicken plate. It was awesome!
Have eaten there regularly, this time it was for Valentine’s Day and they were as expected very busy. Although they were understaffed they did a good job with timing and the food was excellent as usual. We’ll continue to be regulars.
Had never heard of this restaurant before going and have lived in MC my entire life. It was Valentines day and they had spots open, so it was a good excuse to try something new. The location is nice! Bar was a little tight but the dining room was elegant. The service was okay. The server we had was very flighty and minimalistic, which could be some peoples preference. As for the food, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip for the appetizer. The bread was very basic buttered dinner rolls around an ~8oz ramekin of greasy coagulated cheese and artichoke dip. It wasn't great. My SO ordered the salmon and she liked it. Came with very basic wild grain rice and a medley of veggies. I ordered the prime rib that came with a custard-ish baked potato and the same veggie medley. The meat was fine but not over flavorful. The potato was pretty good and the veggies tasted like any other frozen vegetable medley. All this to say, it wasn't bad, but after spending over $100 for a dinner, I expect a higher quality. Valentines day played a part in the prices, I'm sure. But there are plenty of places closer by that, for the price, would offer a better experience. Leeds Public House and Bentwood Tavern to name a couple. Hope I wasn't too rude, but just my honest experience.

We really liked where the friendly young lady at the front desk seated us..right in front of a fireplace. No one else was seated near us. This is just as important as the food itself! The food was good. Our waiter Sean was sweet.

We always enjoy a meal at Duneland Beach Inn, small warmly decorated, good solid food. Such a comfortable warm environment. Can't wait for the weather to become warm and we can enjoy the beautiful outside area.
Celebrating Christmas with family in this lovely house decorated tastefully for the holidays. Food was very good, but was quite a wait and came out cold. Very disappointed, but still love the ambiance!
