Enjoy creative seasonal fare at Dune. Its upscale setting in sophisticated and wonderful for dining out with a date or an old friend. Owner and chef Michael Getter has created an atmosphere that's warm and inviting. Dune's interior features three different dining areas and a quartzite bar. Its menu offers appetizers like foie gras with a pistachio crust, rabbit confit and roasted Nantucket oysters. Guests can feast on a main course of wild boar ribs with a lime vinaigrette, sautéed salmon or a grilled sirloin steak with a basil potato purée. This resturant also serves a vegan and vegetarian tasting platter, as well as desserts.

Always loved Dune. Sadly, it has taken a turn. This last visit during the Christmas Stroll was a harrowing experience. If you must go be advised to confirm, reconfirm, and re-reconfirm your reservations especially if you requested a table upstairs.

This place is way overhyped. We were there during Restaurant Week so what I ordered was a good value but taste and texture wise it was a hot mess. I expected a delicious gourmet meal but what I got was so much less. Needless to say the coffee I ordered with the desert course was the best thing I had.

Not sure why it is so highly rated. Unique preparation of food. Some work. Some don't. Small sizes. High prices. Wanted extra special for my husband and my birthday. Disappointed.

We came for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance is very nice, not too noisy. Our waiter was very good, just not great. The food was fabulous. Everything delicious, prepared just right and appetizingly presented. We recommend Dune highly! Call for a reservation for sure.

The food was excellent. The other diners were awful. We were surrounded by people who were drunk, speaking aggressively, taking cell phone calls and using flash photography. Turned a special evening into one where we just wanted to leave and go to bed. The servers were great too, but we didn't get much attention since we weren't high maintenance.

Great dining experience. Best Halibut I have had......and prepared exquisitely.
The atmosphere is very casual but elegant. Wait staff attentive without being overbearing.

One of the most varied menus I have seen on Nantucket. I was glad swordfish was on the menu- it was very good served on fresh vegetables. The beet salad tasted as good as it looked, as did the house salad. Our friends had the halibut and the lamb shank and enjoyed both. Service was good as well. Wine list was reasonably priced. A nice evening.

Recommended to us as having the best seafood on the island but I found the experience disappointing. The food was superb and I enjoyed the excellent choice of local vegetables and seafood. Unfortunately I felt that I was not important enough for our server to be interested in our having a good experience. The adjacent table also felt similarly. Our server gave most of his attention to a table where he was familiar with several of the group. The wine list was varied and had some great choices that were not too expensive.

Dune offers creative cuisine that tastes as good as it looks! The tomato salad was delicious. The tomatoes were ripe and fresh. The softshell crab was the most outstanding item! It was served in a giant bowl and prepared with an Asian influence. The ingredients included noodles, cashews, carrots, peas, and ginger. The shrimp were served with noodles, pistachios, and cabbage. However, there weren't enough shrimp in the dish for the price. Although we loved the food at Dune, the room was absolutely freezing. The air conditioning was set way too high, and the restaurant could not control it. We felt like we were in Alaska. Our arms and legs were stiff and felt like ice cubes .
