We had a wonderful dinner for our 30th wedding anniversary! I recommend the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer and the twin lobster tails entree if they're available. The shrimp and scallops entree was also very good. Save room for dessert - there are many great choices, including the chocolate peanut butter lava cake and apple strudel. Kudos to our server June - she did a great job!
We've been there many times, and have always enjoyed it. This time our waiter was quite pleasant, but slow and forgetful. We were in a side room, so he probably didn't think to look in on us. We'll be back, for sure!
Not the DK we remember from years past. Rushed service for no reason as the restaurant was not even half full. Food was average, good but not great as we usually expect. Service disappeared after entrees arrived.
Everything was exceptional! We will definitely be back!
We decided to try Duling Kurtz after not having been there for several years. It's likely to be several years before we return. The food was average. Nothing special. Our salads were forgettable. My steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked more medium well. There are many restaurants in the area that are much better in the same price range.
Very quaint. For an inn the food was outstanding. Hope to experience the outdoor seating in the near future.
My husband, daughter and I went for Easter Dinner. We had a 5pm reservation and were seated promptly. Overall, the dinner was good. It is a lovely restaurant and we were seated in the upstairs room which is very bright. The service was just okay. They were understaffed as it appeared that there were just 2 waiters servicing the room. Our water glasses were empty often and we had to find a waiter to refill. The biggest complaint I had was that our dinner was lukewarm at best. Its too bad because it was very tasty.
We will go back again for dinner. Hoping the service will be better on a regular day.
Duling-Kurtz is consistently a winner! The restaurant has delightful character, the food is delicious, and we can't say enough wonderful things about Amy -- she is a server extraordinaire! We enjoy making Duling-Kurtz our family's special occasion "go-to" restaurant.
The food was outstanding and excellent service. We couldn't have had a better Easter Sunday dinner and will definitely be returning.
Best crab cakes we've had in a very long time! Our waitress was wonderful - can't remember her name - she had blonde hair. Our dessert - warm apple strudel was fantastic!!
Excellent Food, Service and Ambiance. A very nice place to dine.
We go there for special occasions and it meets our expectations every time. We will continue to go back there for a very long time. We recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet dinner with someone you love.
Food was excellent! Nice relaxing serene environment. Ambiance was comfortable sitting by the large open hearth. Had a lovely experience!
Wait until you step inside. The Duling Kurtz House was a great experience. Thank you.
Wonderful meal at a warm and friendly old setting. Cocktails and wine were great. The waite staff were amazing and fun. A perfect setting for a party of six for a special birthday.
Our server Thadius was outstanding and the meal was exceptional. We really enjoy this special place.
Duling Kurtz is my favorite restaurant in Chester County. Never disappoints!
We had a wonderful meal and fantastic service. Everything was a 10. Enjoyed it very much !
Astonishing food and ambience and service
Great service - excellent menu and specials. The jazz duo added nice atmosphere. Enjoyable evening - can’t wait to return.
Always the best evening sitting at the bar at Duking Kurtz with Michael as bartender!
Food is always delicious.
Great atmosphere, classic Chester County style. We were in a room toward the back with fireplace and classic old decor, very nice for a special occasion. Food was outstanding. Had a smoked duck and smoked salmon appetizer special and Lobster crepe for the entree, and my wife had lobster bisque and the salmon entree. Everything was delicious and a couple special requests were just as we asked. Our waitress Amy was very enthusiastic and attentive, made it fun, and she went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and had dinner at our own pace.
Modest selection but most entrées are tasty but not adventurous
Table overlooked a quaint garden on a snowy evening...beautiful. We shared a tasty cheese board with wine followed by the Lobster Crepes and Scottish Salmon. Both were excellent. Last dined here on New Years Eve and decided to come back for Valentine's Day. Truly unique menu items makes Duling Kurtz worthy of many future visits. We genuinely enjoy this restaurant.
Excellent service. The apps were awesome but the main meals were just average. Been here several times and typically the food is excellent. This wouldn't stop us from coming back. We had the NY Strip steak and Shrimp and Scallops.
Loved the food. Staff (hostess and coat check, other waitress/not our server) was rude and dismissive. Sever was ok, but not friendly.
We had a fabulous dinner for our family as usual here. Our server was the best. He was very friendly, cheerful, and everything was delivered on time and delicious with a smile. My whole family was very pleased and we enjoyed a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy.
From start to finish a perfect evening. The food was amazing! It was delivered timely and hot. Best dinner I have had in a long time.
This place has so much potential to be amazing, but the food has a long way to go before getting a 5 star rating.
Interesting inn but a bit pricy
The food was delicious, although the menu itself was a bit too exotic for our taste. They had changed their menu for Valentine’s Day. We would have enjoyed having a chicken (not Cornish hen) dish available or more beef options. We don’t eat camel or ostrich. Atmosphere was very romantic. Very good wine list. Overall a very good experience.
We have come to Duling-Kurtz for the past several years on Valentine's Day. They always deliver quality food and service. Already have our reservations booked for next year! Great views and wonderful dining experience!
Everything was amazing. Food, wine, service. Would highly recommend.
Duling-Kurtz is usually excellent all around. They offered a braise rib-eye of camel which sounded interesting so I ordered it. My wife got the Lobster ravioli which was excellent as usual. The Camel was uneventful in flavor, relatively tough and a very small portion, especially for the dollars. The Server asked for my feedback which was what I just shared here. He came back to the table and informed us that I was not the only one who felt that way, so they took it completely off our bill. That was very generous of them and we will continue to dine there and recommend it to others. Our appetizers and salads were superb and you need go no further on the dessert options past the Cheese Strudel - it is phenomenal. Thank you DK, we will be back!
Pre-Valentine dinner with my wife. We sat in a charming interior room with a working fireplace. We opened a bottle of zinfandel and shared the octopus appetizer. While not chewey it was not as tender as most I have had and was lacking the trademark wood-grilled finish.
My wife loved her lobster crapes although the mashed potatoes that accompanied the entree seemed bland-underseasoned and underbuttered.
My 6 oz scottish salmon was tasty and perfectly cooked. Again the accompanying veggies lacked sparkle-bland rissoto with string beans and carrots.
A charming atmosphere but the food fell short of the acclaim in my opinion.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Duling Kurt s
Came back after 25 years and was thrilled with the food and service. Hope to come back again... but sooner. ;-)
Fabulous meal. Good portions. Great service too. My girlfriend knows when a meal is prepared by a chef that uses fresh ingredients. Excellent!
First time for my wife and I at the restaurant. Food was excellent and our server, June, was a wealth of info. The regular menu has terrific items and in addition, their specials were even better. We were not rushed through dinner and enjoyed an excellent early Valentine's Day dinner. We'll be back!
