A Chester County gem. We love this restaurant for its food, atmosphere, and weekend music in the lounge. We have a perfect evening every time.
We had a wonderful time was my daughter’s birthday they offered us their intimate porch room . The meals were amazing absolutely love their mushroom soup !! It was a wonderful evening
Our server was amazing as was the food
The food was good. The service was adequate but not outstanding
My husband and I had a fabulous dining experience on Valentine's Day, so I returned with a friend for a luncheon on March 3rd. Both French Onion Soup and Lobster Bisque were very good. The light, flaky warm pop-overs, served in place of a heavier bread, were yummy, especially with the lemon curd spread. My crab cake was very generous in size, full of crab meat, not filler. My friend's salad was fresh and delicious. And we split a chocolate mousse, so smooth and delicious, topped with fresh fruit. An outstanding lunch and our server, Amy, took very good care of us. Highly recommend Duling-Kurtz!
What a great experience. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. What a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Seated in a wonderful colonial setting with fireplace and the accoutrements of a comfortable country kitchen.
Our appetizers were incredible. My wife had the grilled octopus while I had the bacon wrapped tiger shrimp. We had an awesome Cabernet as they have an excellent wine selection. Very nice portions. Our dinners were another level higher. I had grilled bronzini cooked perfectly. My wife had a seafood dish with lobster, shrimp, fish on a nice bed of pasta. Portions were large. But that is why there are doggie bags.
We took home a piece of carrot cake after our wonderful server, Patty, gave us a chocolate mousse gratis. A perfect celebration.
Wonderful experience as always for our special occasions We love this restaurant never disappoints
I want to start by saying, you need to dine at Duling Kurtz House sooner than later, it was fabulous! We each indulged in a delicious Pear Martini’s served up my an excellent bartender Michael, sitting at the bar, which was warm and inviting. Have to say, it was One of the best Pear Martini’s we have ever had. And Michael, was friendly and professional.
We were escorted to one of the several dining rooms, where about 12-16 people can sit, but during our dining experience, there were two other lovely couples who joined in our fun and lively conversation. We were greeted by an exceptional server named Jillian, she was and is outstanding, and made wonderful recommendations for our entree selections.
We were so hungry we decided to skip appetizers and salads, besides which, we each were able to enjoy their signature pop overs with the lemon curd..delicious.
I throughly enjoyed my Filet Mignon, cooked to perfection, with pomme purée, asparagus, bernaise & bordelaise sauces. My two friends ordered the Lobster Crepes, and both literally licked their plates, as they totally enjoyed them. They are a Duling Kurtz specialty, that my next time there I will order. Check out their menu selections online, you will not be disappointed.
Built in 1830, the charm and tradition this place offers is remarkable and absolutely worth the drive. I highly recommend Duling Kurtz and when you are there, stop at the bar first, enjoy a specialty drink prepared by Michael and be sure to ask to have Jillian as your server. She is enthusiastic, friendly and enjoys her job very much. She even said, it’s best place to work in all the places she has worked at. I am certain the other servers are wonderful. I can’t wait to go back, and will plan my visit very soon.
Hats off to the owners, you have maintained this beautiful and spectacular restaurant, and have provided a wonderful experience.
Thank you, Susan Hagan
Excellent dining experience. Our meals were well prepared, and the time between placing our orders and receiving our food was timely. Waitress was friendly, and attentive, without being obtrusive. We ate in the central fireplace room. Nice ambiance! Will return for sure.
It's always a treat to enjoy a delicious meal in this oasis setting
They accommodated our 7 person business meeting in a private room. Very helpful
Just my favorite place to have a quiet lunch with a friend. I am so looking forward to going back soon.
This was a Sunday night, to celebrate my Lady's Birthday. We has reservations for 1700 ET, walked in and was seated right away. We had wine and made a toast. Started out with the Mushroom Tart, (very tasty). My Lady had the Veal special with Lobster Tail, and stated it was cooked the way she liked it,(thumbs up). I had the Crab Cakes and they were delicious ,(another Thumbs up). After about 2000 ET the noise level was a bit high, but after 3 wines we didn't care. The waitress Amy was vert attentive and seemed to enjoy interacting with the customers.
Great food! Great service! Great experience! Great!
We had a wonderful experience for the day after Valentines Day meal. The service was quick and dining was relaxing. We have dined here before and they have intimate areas in the historic area of the inn but we were seated in the upper floor addition which is in need of an update. Overall, a positive experience.
Another wonderful night at the Inn. Great food and service is what keeps us coming back!
Waiter could have provided steak knives with the meal delivery rather than 10 minutes after meal later. Lamb was excellent.
The entire experience was amazing. As for value it is subjective. This is superb fine dining. They have amazing cocktails and an extensive wine list. We will definitely be going back!
Normally I would, but after this dinner I would not. The lobster tails were cold and soggy and the sponge cake was hard as a rock in places. We thought it may be the kitchen, but it was our wait staff who was the problem, since it took forever to get anything we ordered. We have been to this restaurant many times, but it was a very disappointing dinner this last time. It may be a while until we return, if at all.
My son and his girlfriend came to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Everything was perfection !thank you
Can’t beat the romantic setting. The place has always been busy when we’ve gone. The staff seems grumpy... very few smiles. I understand that those in immediate customer contact are the owners or owners family. Some folks were returning food to be reheated as it was delivered cold. One bartender to handle 100+ patrons. Had to wait fifteen minutes for first cocktail even though we were first in line at the bar. ....enough said... this was our third try to have a great experience....probably won’t return.
Should have looked at the other reviews around holidays and delay in seating. Went for Valentines Days and waited 45 minutes to be seated. Expected a delay but 45 minutes is long for 8:45 reservation. Bartender was overworked and waited 20 minutes just for a drink. Food and service was good. Would go back but during a “regular” time.
Had a reservation for 8 pm. Got there early and restaurant was very full. They had definitely overbooked for Valentines. We waited until past our reservation time and were told there were still 3 people ahead of us. Would have had a drink in bar but it was so full no room.
Another case of greed by owners taking more reservations than they can cope with which makes it miserable for everyone.
One of the top fine dining restaurants in the state if not the country.
It was one of the best experiences and extremely enjoyable food that we have had in awhile - we will definitely will be back.
Wonderful place, especially for a romantic night out.
Always best service delicious food very romantic
I have 2 words for you.....Cheese Strudel!!! Absolutely incredible. All the food here is top notch. Setting is an old country Inn, beautiful views, quiet dining. Staff appropriately attentive, and friendly. We have dined here many times, and will for many more. It is a great place to go to celebrate special occasions, or just to celebrate if your in the mood for a great experience.
The Green Room was completely full and yet the service was handled very well.
The tomahawk pork chop was outstanding. It was so tender it basically evaporated in your mouth. Between the ambiance of the restaurant, and the attention of our server, June it was a perfect romantic dinner.
Good food, good service. Good menu selections with enticing specials.
Very wonderful meal! Lovely setting. One of the nicest restaurants in the area. We celebrated a special occasion....great venue for that! Looking forward to coming back again! Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Great setting and the food was delicious. Certainly will be back.
Amazing. Cannot wait to go back!
Used to be one of our favorite restaurants-our recent meal was subpar. Our cocktails were overly sweet-Cosmo and Old Fashioned. I got the shrimp and scallops and the scallops had a very off taste and the cauliflower was cold. My husband has the short ribs and it was covered in a very sweet sauce that he did not enjoy. For the price we expected more. There are many other consistently good restaurants.
My filet was cold and not medium rare as requested.
My husbands lobster crepes did not have enough sauce. But the ambiance is wonderful .
First visit beyond our expectations! If you are a foodie, this is a must-visit. Chef inspired creations and unique tastes with each dish. The opening-dish, tiger prawns (won't call it an appetizer, it was more or less a medley of many flavors) was absolutely outstanding. Main courses spiked and calmed the taste buds in a similar fashion. We ordered a lamb shank and schnitzel and the paired accompaniments were incredible. Will visit again!
Food was great enjoy trying new dishes. And staff was attentive and friendly towards us and granddaughter. Waitress allowed granddaughter to assist with making Caesar salad and she was very happy. Thank you we always have a great meal and a relaxing time
The setting, service and food is excellent.
My friend and I usually dine here for our birthdays. We especially love sitting in the sun-drenched corner room, and today the sun was shining! June, our server, was so friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made our experience even better than usual. This lovely and historic restaurant never disappoints.
