It was a 70th Birthday and retirement occasion. We had a private room, server was spectacular, food was delicious. The whole event was perfect. We all would definitely recommend Duling Kurtz and will return in the future.
The experience was great, as usual. Food, service and ambiance were fantastic for a Saturday luncheon. Thank you.
As always, Amy was great and the food was delicious.
Duling is the best place to go for a pleasant lunch or dinner. The food is always outstanding and the specials are always interesting and beautifully presented. Service is equally outstanding.
Three of us had crabcakes and one person had black bass. The crabcakes were tasty but had less crabmeat than they should have had for $34.00. The black bass was very good. The lobster bisque was wonderful. The alligator appetizer was also good.
Amazing evening with even more incredible food and drink. The house specialities were delicious and everything from the appetizer to dessert and coffee was perfect. We will absolutely be back.
Very unique experience. Loved the place. Will go back.
A late Valentines Day!
Service was amazing our Sarah was fantastic great for a special occasion.
It's been the "go to" place for my friend and me to celebrate our birthdays, and that will not change! A gem in Chester County!
2 hours for our meal to arrive due to kitchen staff issues. Horrible filet. Not a good cut of meat. Very sadly our worst experience at this restaurant that we frequent often. Asked to see a manager, she never came to our table,
Please try this restaurant if you have not. It is a gem, it has wonderful people , great food and you will feel very welcome.
Duling Kurtz is one of our favorite, go-to places and has been for years. This most recent visit, however, was disappointing especially the service. While we like a leisurely meal, this dinner was over 2 1/2 hours and only because the service was so slow. They usually serve the wonderful pop-overs while you are enjoying cocktails and before appetizers are served. We had to ask for them. There was a very extended time between appetizers and our entrees. I don't know if the problem was our server or the kitchen. The food was disappointing as well. My husband ordered the wild boar special. It was extremely tough and difficult to eat. Two of us had a seafood special that was lukewarm when served. The waitress seemed rather unconcerned about all of this. Not typical for Duling-Kurtz. We will consider this an off night and definitely go back, as in our experience, off-nights are the exception.
Favorite spot - always a delicious, memorable meal. Popovers are great. Apple strudel is tops. Lobster crepes are to die for. We love this place!
Patrons for many years, but our latest experience will likely be our last. Waiter was very unfamiliar with food as if he had never tried the dishes, wrong dish brought out next; lamb chop portion was like receiving 2 shrimp from a cocktail (no joke). The furniture was very wobbly. It just seems as though there are new philosophies in managing this restaurant that are turning things for the worse. There are better places that offer a top notch dining experience that have now moved to the top of the list.
Very good food and romantic setting. Although we have recervation, We had to wait for almost 45 minutes. Wasn’t happy!
my wife and I went out for valentines day, we both had a drink in the bar before we where seated, the bartender shorted me on my change. When I told him he did correct it. We were seated and waited longer than we should have to see a server, I had to ask a manager for pop-overs, our server never brought any, we didn't get rolls or butter like everyone else. Our app came out in a good time, but our main course took over one hour and forty-five minutes. When we finally got our meal my blacken rib eye which I was looking forward to was well done not medium rare. Our server told me that it was the last one. I said I'm fine I'll share my wife's filet which was great. Our server instituted that I get something else. So I got the filet too, which came out in minutes. We saw other table that came an hour after us get there food before ours. I asked for more Bearnaise sauce and never got it. I have worked in restaurants as a server which I had told my server she said when I asked why it took so long that OH YOU KNOW HOW IT IS ON HOLIDAYS. I do know how it is and this took way way to long. My wife was falling asleep it took so long. The owner did buy us desert and champagne witch was very nice of her. BUT our server was horrible we never saw her when we needed her, she never brought things we asked for. I was upset that I didn't get what I ordered. I have always had a great time here last Thursday was very disappointing, Id love to go back and try the blackened rib eye cooked the way I order it. My wife loves the pop overs so we will be back I JUST HOPE WE GET A DIFFERENT SERVER THEN Sarah. Amy was great the last time we were there. THANK YOU
30 minute wait past 6:30 reservation. Dining area lacked warmth reminding of a sun porch. Food OK. Attentive server.
Overall very good. Food came out slowly due to full house with Valentine’s Day. The valets we’re having difficultly keeping up with getting cars and finding people’s keys
Duling Kurtz is our Go-To when we want to celebrate with the best evening for food and ambiance.
We recently shared a Sunday meal with an out of town couple who enjoy old Inns and Taverns . They were very pleased with the atmosphere and food quality we've come to appreciate. Our server Amy was very gregarious and engaging. Yes DK is a more expensive establishment but you know that going in and they don't disappoint. Note: Sundays and Mondays are BYOB.
Excellent impression for our first time eating at Duling Kurtz. Food and service were top notch. We were given a small private room to celebrate our 35th Anniversary and both food and service were excellent.
This Restaurant has been our favorite Chester County location for the past 30 years for special occasions, romantic dinner or just a change from the usual. Great food, amazing staff and a picturesque location.
We eat here about once a month. Always a wonderful time
This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. The food is outstanding, service terrific, atmosphere beautiful.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere with a gormet menu to die for. Would love to eat here for an entire week. Exeellent value for gormet delights.
Beautiful wintry snowy night. Sat by windows on the lovely porch (enclosed) area. Anniversary dinner. Charming restaurant you just don’t find in the area much these days. Service was excellent. Very attentive but discreet and didn’t ‘hover’ over us. Wonderful selections on the menu as well as specials. All we chose were delicious and very nicely presented. Quiet and cozy atmosphere throughout. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu.
Wonderful ambience and service. Food quality is very good though not exceptional. Overall a very nice dining experience.
The service at Duling Kurtz house was very good, timely and friendly. Typically the food is very good, but I did not enjoy the thick sauce on the wagyu steak, but the steak itself was cooked perfectly. I like crispy fries but the truffle fries that came with the steak were more like fry-shaped chips and not in a good way. I only ordered the steak because we came for the duck and the rack of lamb, but they didnt have either left that night. The lobster bisque was tasty and well seasoned, but did not have any peices of lobster in it. My creme brûlée was textured like scrambled eggs. Although I was dispointed by my meal on this occasion, I normally enjoy my experience at Duling Kurtz. I would recommend this restuarant for folks who enjoy a quiet atmosphere with a somewhat generic menu.
My wife and I have dined at Duling Kurtz House on several occasions. We chose this restaurant for an early dinner on New Years Eve. I knew we were in for an energetic meal when I pulled into the last open parking spot in the lot. The server was prompt, and our food arrived fairly promptly as well. My wife enjoyed her seafood entrée, as did I. Both entrees were served hot, which I find extraordinary for such a busy evening. The normally sedate ambiance for early dinner times was shattered by the crowd. I've never seen Duling Kurtz House so noisy. But, I imagine this is what we should expect for a special occasion such as New Years Eve.
Great food, server was very nice and attentive. A little disappointed that we only got one roll each delivered to the table, rather than a little basket of rolls. Other than that, excellent!
gone down hill. use to be that special place, now, the wandering basket of croissants just isn't charming enough to make the meal. down to the small details that use to be looked at, my last experience there
started with the linen table cloth being folded and lumpy on the table and dishes that were plain and honestly boring.
I'm not too impressed with most restaurants these days but Duling-Kurtz is the exception. It is a wonderful dining experience with a cozy atmosphere and delightful surroundings. The food is beyond outstanding. I'm yearning for one of the puff pastries and lemon curd this very moment. Thank you for making my wife's birthday a memorable experience.
The poached Chilean Sea Bass was probably the best fish dish I have ever had. The portions were fairly large but just right. Ambience is just wonderful with candlelight and a blazing fire next to us. Service was tremendous and just right between our four courses. It was a wonderful memorable evening. We would highly recommend this Chester County gem of a restaurant.
We dined at Duling Kurtz 2 days ago with friends who have never been to the restaurant. They were excited to try it from our description. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar during Happy Hour. Upon arrival we found that a large group had pushed all the tables together for themselves, and there were only 2 seats left. We asked if we could get 2 additional chairs to sit at the table. The owner looked like we had asked her for the moon. She was so miserable - barking at an employee to get seats, that we were embarrassed. The owner's gloomy countenance continued through seating us for dinner and her grumpiness definitely cast a pall over everyone's experience. I don't know if we will return.
We wanted a quiet dinner without our toddlers. We got that and great food and service! We like a place out of history and have tried many restaurants of this style in our area. This one had the best food by far. The pop over rolls alone are a reason to go back but everything was fantastic. From the road you wouldn’t even know it’s there but definitely find it and go.
We had a family dinner at Duling Kurtz Dec 2018. We were able to get a reservation for a table of 12 the same day we called and they seated us in a private dining room on the second floor, which was nice. The table set up was a bit odd - an L shape with 3 people off to the side. The food was good, the main problem was the timing. Several people had appetizers or salads which all came out at the same time. Our entrees were served at 3 different times. By the time the whole table had been served, those who were served first had finished eating. Our servers (2) were fairly unprofessional for this type of fine dining. They complained about the kitchen for the delay of the entrees. I understand they were frustrated too, but it is inappropriate to blame the kitchen in front of the guests. A manager did not stop by - I assume they were made aware of the delayed meals. So no offer to comp anything or to offer an apology on behalf of the restaurant. We also had an issue with the bill being divided, so over all a disappointing visit to a restaurant we remembered fondly from years ago. Hopefully this is not a typical experience.
Waited 30 minutes even with a reservation. Sever was terrible. Felt like we ere at a Red Robbins. We usually love the service here. Won’t be back anytime soon.
Christmas Eve at the Duling Kurtz House was festive and delicious. Bit of a wait for our reservation to be seated (40 min) and not in the room we requested. But as always excellent food and superb service! Amy is a star, she keeps us coming back and bringing additional family members with us! Our compliments to the chef and staff for a lovely Christmas Eve dinner.
Lovely place for Christmas Eve dinner
