Duke's Huntington Beach Ratings and Reviews
I was expecting not to like this place. A long time ago it was a run down place called Maxwells and I hadn’t been there in decades. But Duke’s had beautiful woodwork everywhere which makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii and even had a beautiful wood boat on the ceiling. It immediately smelled clean and like really good food. Once we walked in and saw all this, we knew we were in for a treat. It was the BEST prime rib I’ve ever had... and I LOVE prime rib, so I eat it anywhere it’s available. Our server’s name was Jason and our service was excellent. He let me do a tasting of different wines to find the one I wanted for dinner. EVERYTHING WAS EXCEPTIONAL. Go there. We’ll be back soon.
We were bummed that we had a reservation at 12:15 on a Sunday, got there at 11:55 and were taken to our seats at 12:15, but ended up having to go back outside to wait because someone was sitting at our table apparently. We were still waiting by 12:35 so we went to the bar to see if they were any free tables which there were but we couldn’t eat at the buffet if we were sitting there. 15 more minutes later, they still hadn’t buzzed our buzzer so we just ate bar food. Confused why they have reservations if they couldn’t even seat us within 35 minutes of our reservation time.
This was our first time there and we loved it. It was my husbands bday and they had a bday card ob table and sat us by thr window wity a scenic view. Our server Brad was the best such great service. The food was so good and came fast. Just to too it off they had a hula pie cake for him on the house. We loved it all. We will def come back and recommend to all.
Everything at Duke's in Huntington Beach was excellent except the fact that we were celebrating a birthday, which I showed on the reservation with Open Table, but there was not indication that they provide Special Occasion events fof their customers. We were disappointed that there wasn't some type of acknowledgement.
We have been going to Dukes, Huntington beach about 4 times per year. It just seemed like it has gone down hill quite a bit. That would include environment, and food. The last visit, while not totally negative, left me with wanting to try some ohter venues.
Dukes has been a standard, for upscale beach dining for a long time----Staff was very efficient, and friendly---Mango/chicken salad was a big hit…[would have been nice to serve,or offer bread]---Grilled shrimp Cesar was also a winner---Really, no option for parking, except $7.00, PLUS tip---which seems high….for lunch----J
On Sunday they have a Buffet Brunch. And not everyone know this. It is a Chanpagne Brunch and one glass is included. I just wish they used a better sparkling wine for the mimosa. The rest has good quality and the food tasted good. I will come back. The location is great and the valet parking is expensive. So park close buy in the public parking in Huntington. Overall was a good experience.
hostess left us waiting too long with a reservation
manager was rude
kept on saying a made a brunch reservation, which i did not
I had a reservation at 1:30 on Sunday and she said I made it for brunch--- nothing was reflected on open table app that it was for a sunday brunch-----
i dont like to be argued with in front of my friends
said if it is for lunch, i would have to wait, but wouldnt have to wait if I had brunch
what the heck is the difference if I order or not from the menu?
Setting is fun-lots of choices.. I think it is difficult to "pull off" a BiG BRUNCH and get gourmet quality. The omelet station was good. The Egg Bendicts was ordinary. Meat choices were fine. We were meeting our niece-it was fun-and more special than an other breakfast places.
We had a wonderful experience! We were there for Sunday Brunch Buffe. So many options to chose from. The food was tasty. The service was great. View amazing. Celebrating a birthday and they brought out one of their signature desserts with a lite candle for our celebration. Very much appreciated. We would go again when we are in the area and will recommend to everyone headed to Los Angeles area.
We had brunch with our good friends for my boyfriends birthday. Our server was really great and the brunch there is delicious mostly the poki. There was a singer with ukulele and a sweet dancer. They helped celebrate my boyfriends birthday. They were a cherry on top and will definitely be coming back again.
