Reserved a table by the window understanding that this may not be possible. Good news - we got one! Arrived too late for sunset but were happy to show our guest (her first time in LA and seeing the coast) the waves against the rocks! This was fun. Restaurant was very clean, open and "fresh" looking... Sadly, while our Waiter was extremely friendly and personable - he was also sadly in such a hurry that he didn't catch two additional drinks - instead running off to fetch the first before others had a chance. More disappointing was that Mr. Nice Personality was equally as out of time for us through the rest of the meal!

Food was very good and creative - but priced accordingly. Had a great pina colada, too!

Overall, if you're going for the ambiance - good choice. Good food - likewise if you know you'll pay the tab for such. Service, pretty disappointing!

My friend and I celebrated my birthday in January and on February 23, came back to celebrate her birthday. We really enjoyed that much. The desert we were served was so very good!

While presentation of food is not always consistent (5 visits with same items ordered), always tasty. Recommend snap peas, mac nut and herb crusted fish, and of course the Hula Pie! The view is always incredible and the valet staff friendly and professional.

My experience was horrible. I made a reservation for 1:15pm, showed up at 1:08 so I was given a buzzer till our table was ready. Decided to sit at the bar and wait to be buzzed. After 15 min without a buzz I go up to hostess and ask how much longer, and she stated that she had buzzed me 3 or 4 times and i didn’t respond so she gave our table away. MY BUZZER NEVER WENT OFF. She
Mmade me feel that it was my mistake, and I did something wrong. She then states that we would have to wait an additional 15 minutes till something opened up. What?! She was very rude and dry and just unaccommodating..... oh and unapologetic!!! No apology for your buzzer malfunction!!? Why didn’t i get a phone call after the 2nd buzz???

Hostesses need major customer service training. They all were dismissive, rude and just BLAH. They also were dressed excessively casual, and unprofessional (frumpy).

Food was mediocre.

Best part i would have to say was the female bartender that we vented to. She gave us a round of drinks on the house and was very kind and apologetic.

Get rid of your hostesses. They do nothing for your establishment.

Very good dinner at Duke’s! Have been to their location in Maui many times and always enjoy it. Busy and beautiful Sunday afternoon in Malibu meant the place was very busy but staff was gracious and did not make us feel rushed. View of the Pacific is great and the dining room is quieter than the barefoot bar. Their were four us including two teenagers and everyone enjoyed their meals. Steaks were cooked to perfection and drinks were mixed cold and strong. An excellent evening out!

I was here for my second visit in two weeks. We loved it so much the first time we brought some family to try it out a week later. unfortunately, this experience was not similar to the first. We chose the outdoor seating. The views are absolutely spectacular but this time the food was not the same.
My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon medium with mashed potatoes and no green sauce. It came out very rare and the potatoes were cold with the sauce covering everything on the dish.
He felt bad about sending it back but he did. The second time it was cooked better however the green sauce was still touching everything on the plate. He was not able to eat his meal and he really did not like that sauce and it unfortunately ruined the entire thing for him. The meal was a little on the pricier side and I felt bad that he wasn’t able to eat it. He was not going to send the food back for a second time...
I wish we were compensated for that inconvenience.

We arrived at 12:20 pm for a 12:30 pm brunch reservation. We waited several minutes for the valet to take our car. We then checked in at the front desk, and were told that our ocean front table should be ready in about 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting. We inquired at the front desk and were told that "we had only been waiting about 20 minutes, since we checked in at 12:43pm". After some arguing, we were finally offered a table with a nice view. The Sunday buffet offers nice food choices, but there was only 1 person making omelets AND carving the tri tip, resulting in 20 minute waits for omelets. In addition, they kept running out of French toast, pancakes, poke and cookies, and not refilling these fast enough. We had a very nice and efficient waiter who made the whole experience more tolerable. Overall, we enjoyed the food and wait service, but wish that the front desk staff had been more honest/forthcoming, and that the buffet could have been better stocked and staffed.

Everyone was really nice. I got the table I requested by the window. My fish tacos were delicious. Our waiter was very nice and brought me a big slice of ice cream cake for my birthday. Will definitely come back again soon!

Our first visit to Dukes on the mainland. Second to none view! You couldn’t get closer to the Pacific unless you were in it! Better make a reservation even for lunch or you won’t get in. Try and request a window table they do try to accommodate . Very busy bustling restaurant with lots of traditional Hawaiian influences on the menu. Very good Maui onion soup and fish tacos. Friendly servers too. Casual menu and no reserves on the south end with a deck and a more casual atmosphere.

Duke's Malibu is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. This being my friend's 60th birthday, we celebrated here. The weather was spectacular and lunch is not crowded during the week. It took less than 1 hour to drive over Topanga Canyon from North Hollywood to Malibu. Folks think to come to the beach for lunch in the summer, but, the weather is usually lovely all year long.
The food was delicious. Birthday girl had the Crab Cakes and I had the Turkey and Brie sandwich. Adam, our server was friendly and attentive, and, of course, Dukes comp'd my friend's Hula Pie dessert for her milestone birthday.

Dual birthdays celebrated. Excellent waitress. Very attentive even after our food was served. Great ice cream cake for the birthday adults. Got a table ocean side as we requested. We even got great and polite service from the parking valet.

Turf and Surf - Banana leaf fish and shrimp - flourless chocolate torte - everything delicious - but rice came out lukewarm - banana leaf entree not-quite hot so only 4 stars. The banana leaf dish is cooked in a way that you probably won’t experience elsewhere- quite special.

Went for lunch on Valentine's. The ONLY fish on menu was Mahi-Mahi (Opa for tacos). Food was okay - but disappointed since last visit. Maybe dinner is better but lunch was super expensive, service nice but not stellar. Won't do lunch again and dinner now a maybe.
