Our waiter was very nice and attentive; he even offered his help on the menu because it was our first time at Duke's.
My husband and I were looking for a nice restaurant by the beach to celebrate our anniversary. I’m glad we chose Duke’s! We were graciously given the best table in the house- a corner at the end of the restaurant that gave us a beautiful view of the ocean. The waiter was attentive and pleasant. The food was different and delicious.
Our waitress super friendly
Excellent safety measures taken, as well as a wonderful setting.
First time there in decades. Loved the atmosphere. Dujes has changed, but still has stayed the same. The Aloha spirit still lives. Thank you for a great time. I will return.
This was our second time here as a family and we had an amazing time. Our server John was fantastic, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the food was great. Can’t wait to go back!
I've been here before but maybe due to the covid 19 pandemic the food seemed very bland. Besides the appetizer nachos which were the bomb, which my girlfriend and I both scarfed down. The dinner was terribly bland. I got the beer battered fish tacos, dry, bland, no flavor, and the cheese in there was gross, cheese does not need to be on that type of fish taco. Go to senior Baja and learn how to make fish tacos.
My girlfriend is vegetarian so not many options, she went with the veggie burger and she said it was bland too. We both agreed that if we were to return it would be for the view and the nachos. That's IT!
Good food with a great ciew
Fantastic view. Great service. Delicious food. A nice place for a relaxing dinner or lunch
There is a very bad sewer smell as you drive in. We were debating whether to go in or just leave to another restaurant, but decided to check if it smells inside the restaurant and it didn’t, so we stayed for our lunch reservation. The place is very dated, like it’s stuck in the 1970’s. Also, they windows are all stained. They should really consider remodeling. It’s a very nice location overlooking the ocean. Also, very few items to choose on the menu. They didn’t even have Salmon.
My wife always excellent, flavorful, and plentiful! My favorite lately is the seared Ahi with Bok Choy with Jasmine rice. My wife enjoys Mahi Mahi crusted with Macadamia nuts. Just want to thank Michael, the GM, for loving what he does. It really shows with his infectious enthusiasm for running a quality restaurant while working with his team and always checking in with his customers. Matt Ammons was our professional server and knows that customer service is the key to a successful restaurant. Matt knows his business & is quick with a smile and his easy going way! We can’t wait to go back for another date night! Thanks Guys! Joe & Amy
I was really disappointed in the decor. Everything was very plain, they took out the carpet and the outside sand. The tile on the floor was bland and the tables were bland. They took out all the booths.
Their was once girl at the check out that was really rude to me as we were leaving. Overall it was nothing special. It was better about 6 years ago. It looked like someone else bought it and cheaped out. The Chinese restaurant owners do that when they manage properties. It felt like that.
I probably will never go back there.
Hooray, Dukes is open!!!!
You did an excellent job with the new Covid guidelines. We felt safe while at Dukes.
I understand the need for a smaller menu, but we did miss some of our favorites. The Hula Pie and coconut shrimp were yummy. Didn’t love the crab or the Korean bbq ribs, they were just ok. My dad loves his chicken and ribs dinner though.
Looking forward to returning as your menu returns.
It was great to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Father’s Day at Dukes. It was our first time dining inside a restaurant during the Covid madness. My ahi dish was very tasty; just too salty for my personal preference. Poke tacos were outstanding! It was quiet and peaceful; possible due to limited capacity during these times. We self parked our car instead of using valet.
We had a lovely Father’s Day Dinner complete with ocean view, great food (as usual) and great service! Everything was safely managed in accordance with Current COVID guidelines.
Staff was incredible professional in providing my family and I with a very enjoyable “new world” post COVID-19 dining experience.
Felt clean and safe. Clearly they are taking the health and safety of not only their clients but their staff very seriously.
They were very careful to space parties far apart. The Macadamia Nut Mahi Mahi was excellent!
Getting out for Father’s Day celebration was fun! Food was delicious and view of ocean made it the perfect place to get out and chill over some much needed cocktails! Service was good and staff was friendly.
Great service, so accommodating! Food was wonderful, and always a beautiful view.
Excellent all around. Lots of space between tables, back room especially distant so we felt comfortable there. Reservation meant that we were seated promptly. Service and food all excellent. Going back soon.
Went here for Sunday brunch.
The view was amazing and the crab cakes were delicious. Seriously some of the best I’ve ever had.
That’s where the good stuff stops.
First off, reserve a table.
We walked into a mostly empty establishment, but heard the hostess saying 45 minutes for a table to some walk ins. This is not Hollywood. People know y’all. There’s no need for that fake popularity bs.
Onto our experience:
The service was some of the worst I have ever received. 10 minutes before we even saw our waitress. Another 10 before we got our water.
My girl ordered an omelet that was liquid. Just entirely waaaaaaayyyyyyy too much oil. Then they smothered it in some lemon hollandaise that just added to the oily disgustingness.
I had a “fresh catch” mac nut crusted piece of fish that was cooked beyond recognition. I was told it was ahi tuna but it resembled some sort of white fish jerky.
Food was probably 30 minutes after our appetizer.
It was nice to not be rushed, but due to the pointless delays in service, our 2 course meal took over 2 hours.
Great folks trying their best to do a wonderful job under the circumstances. Food arrived cold. Tater tots for potatoes. Server noticed only one egg was serverved and ran for another. Hollandaise was watery. Server was awsome bringing fresh great coffee. Food was sub-par in every way. Except: appetizer POKE TACOS were excellent!!!
Celebrating being able to dine out again.
Our first time at a restaurant in a while.... Was great! Post-pandemic realness. The process was so smooth and the health measures apparent. Unlikely to catch a bug. The food was delicious and the service great. And of course the views...!
As always - at great time at Duke's. Very impressed with how they had everything operating given the restrictions and COVID-19 pandemic. I felt very safe dining here and it was the perfect place for our first outing since the shutdowns.
It was a great place to take my father and myself for Father’s Day!!! Thank you So much!!!
Everything was great. However, I would've preferred if our waitress kept her mask on when she talked to us, either wore gloves or carried hand sanitizer with her. Otherwise, everything else was great.
You need to try the Hula Pie....it is made to SHARE!
Fantastic time! Oceanside views that are so close you can almost feel the spray! Food was delicious, cocktails were very good, and the ambiance is a perfect balance between upscale and California chill. Will definitely look forward to coming back, and this time also checking out the Barefoot Bar.
Great Experience. Food and drinks were delicious. We had black bean nachos which camp with plenty of topping. The burgers were cooked as we asked and were yummy. Good Social Distancing. Waitstaff wore gloves and masks. Loved the ocean views and vibe.
Fun and nice all the time!
I can’t remember the last time I’d been to Duke’s but boy was this a treat. The weather was perfect. We had a seat next to the window, the sun was shining, the water was splashing on the rocks. We ordered coconut shrimp and pork nachos to start. Coconut shrimp was probably my favorite of this visit. The nachos were delicious but I felt there wasn’t that much pork on them. I ordered the fish tacos and they were much bigger then I was expecting. But the hot sauce they came with was delicious. We split the ice cream pie. I forget the name but also of course delicious. We had a glass of the Cruse Monkey Jacket red wine and would definitely order that again! Great experience!
Had a great time the food was delicious and the drinks where great I'm definitely coming back.
We waited for dine-in to celebrate mother's day and Duke's Malibu almost feels like Duke's Maui. Our waiter was charming and the ocean view from our table was worth the wait. Food and drinks were delicious as always.
The food is always excellent, every time I come to California that is my go to place. The HULA is awesome.
The entire experience was great. Waitress, Christen, even in a mask, was terrific
