Extremely pleasantly surprised. I imagined a touristy hangout with so so food but I loved the buffet choice and quality. Fun spot!

Excellent place. Beautiful. Delicious. Great service. All of it's "faults" come simply from the fact that it is so good and in high demand. Window seats aren't guaranteed, wait for seating can be long, and it isn't quiet, but this is because of no fault of the staff or establishment. It simply is the product of being such a popular place.

We had the crab wontons and the macadamia crusted mahi, and both were excellent. It was overcast, but the view of a sailboat race was magnificent. Service was very friendly and efficient. Parking at $7 is a bit ridiculous, but so be it. We've never been disappointed by Duke's.

Anthony was our server, he was great! Informative, very friendly, expedient and seemed to read his tables well. The cocktails were well made and a great wine list was available too. We had the ceviche, it was very fresh, just the right amount of acid, followed by the Kale and Grapefruit salad, we split it and both agreed that we could’ve just had that salad and been thrilled, it was super tasty. We then had the furikake crusted Ahi tuna and the Banana Leaf wrapped fish and shrimp. We were so full, but we ate about half anyway of each entree, the rest came back with us for lunch. Everything was delicious, perfectly prepared, seasoned well and the service was spot on!

My husband and I went for New Years Day Lunch. We shared the Maui Onion soup. It was amazing. I had the vegetable curry which is one of the best I had. He had the Korean Street Tacos. Best views of the ocean!

The window tables provide an excellent ocean view. Service was great. Food was just okay. But it was very noisy-loud in the room that we were seated in. Valet parking is the only option at $6 to park.

We were greeted by a lovely host staff and seated right away. Our waitress was quite forgetful. She forgot she had already asked if we wanted avocado on our tacos. She asked us twice if we wanted bread. She, (nor anyone else )did not tend to our waters etc. I ordered a coffee with dessert and didn’t receive it. She said she forgot it when she was bringing our dessert and would get it. With the large dessert almost gone, she came to the table next to us and I leaned over to remind her about the coffee. She told me she hadn’t been to the kitchen and to hold on. Finally someone else brought the coffee.
She comped our coffee but and pointed that out. Either she had a bad day, or she was under staffed with bus service to help her care for the tables, or she is not a good waitress. We have been to Duke’s before and had very nice service and so I was surprised the disheveled service.

Received a gift card for Duke's for Christmas. Hadn't been in some time but it's a family favorite place to dine whether brunch or dinner. Never has failed to deliver quality food and great service. Kudos to the Valet parking attendants too! Happy New Year!

Cannot beat the view....like being in the ocean.
Calamari is not to be missed - steaks cut into strips - incredible. And the fish and chips were perfect according to my husband, who is a fish and chips connoisseur. My poke bowl was lovely. Nice spot to stop on a drive north or south on PCH. :)

Awesome view on the water. food is very good. Must save room for the Hula Pie.
The Barefoot bar is uplifting- upscale casual.
I would prefer more light beer choices(Ultra or Bud Light).
I would prefer a self park option (especially if going to the bar).

We booked for Sunday brunch and had someone in our group with dietary restrictions - we were then directed to dine in the bar or patio in order to have our party enjoy either the brunch selections or they could order off the menu. We then find out the menu available was only the bar menu with even more restrictive limited choices - we were not able to order from the full menu. We then return to the hostess stand to be seated in the main dining area and waited at our table over 15 minutes before someone took our drink order - and that was after we flagged him down. It was not very busy - many empty tables and many staff members at the front door - for such limited information. We love the Sunday brunch at Dukes but there was not much communication from the front desk staff with regards to our inquiries and needs.
That being said, the brunch is delicious and is what brings us back.

I am a Malibu local. Plus twenty years, I try Duke's with friends & people from out of town. Visitors always love the ambiance & sometimes the food.
The service is OK, but the food is below average all the time.
Our table ordered several appetizers. We had to send two of them back, cold & soggy. The crab cakes were 99% bread crumbs, the calamari was not eatable.
I order fish chowder, how hard is that? It arrived cold...really.
Not sure I will give Duke's another try, even though we live just blocks away.
On the plus side, during nice weather, sitting on the Barefoot Bar deck, the burgers are good.
