Duke's La Jolla
Wonderful service, enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, and entrees.
Service was wonderful. Special birthday touches much appreciated. Steak lacked flavor. Smell was very off putting. Not sure the source. But it smelled like sewage on the patio. I felt terrible for party of 6 and birthday guy. Please take care of it. Not sure we will be back if it is not addressed
Food was too salty and we couldn’t even eat it. They did comp the meals but the manager didn’t even bother coming by the table. Very unprofessional.
First time at this location. Excellent everything. Thank you!
Best decision we made in Our visit to La jollA. The food was outstanding, the ambience and views were incredible. It was super casual, relaxed and fun. Felt beachy and unpretentious. We would highly recommend to anyone!
Had lunch at Duke's on the patio. First of all, the views are breathtaking. I had the caesar salad with chicken. Quite tasty. When you go, please make sure you as for a patio seat either on the first level or the bar area on the second. It is worth having lunch there. You views in itself is well worth it.
Duke's was, as always, GREAT! We asked to be seated outside on the upper patio deck and they put two tables together to seat our party of 10. Birthday treat of Hula Pie was amazing and the food/drinks were top notch. I would definitely go back again and again and again
Nice place on the water
I’ve been to Duke quite a few times and every time it has been a great experience and really good food too.
A great experience !!!
Great service started from when we entered the property! The host and hostess were very hospitable and our waiter was very attentive. The presentation of the food was beautiful and made a great birthday celebration for my brother in law.
Amazing food, wonderful location. Doesn’t get any better
Great atmosphere. The outdoor patio makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii. Ciara, our server, was excellent and made our boys’ birthday brunch feel so special.
For the view and service. Food is underwhelming. Poke tacos were bland and boring. Bloody Mary was good. Our server was sweet and attentive.
Pretty ambiance and good service. Food was nothing special.
Sea bass special was delicious but blistered pea appetizer was totally underwhelming (despite a very interesting set of ingredients). Waiter was very kind and helpful but served the wrong wine. Overall pretty good night.
Great Food & Great Service !
Great food and Aloha atmosphere! Love Dukes and the waterfront view.
Breakfast was delicious, as were the drinks. Crabcake Benedict was wonderful and they were willing to make a traditional Hollandaise sauce. Not fishy at all. Beautiful setting. I enjoyed it very much
Cool Hawaiian vibe, food, drinks, decor and all!
We had the snow-peas for an apetizer. The ahi tuna steak, poke-tacos, shrimp pasta, caesar salad & the ice-cream chocolate pie for dessert.
Good wine and cocktails over tiki mugs.
Best burger— delicious 1/2 lb w/fries.
Last visited dukes 2 years ago and we loved it, great food and drinks. Had deteriorated which was a real shame
I was given a sirloin cut when I ordered a New York strip. If you eat steak you would see the difference right away. The price difference was $17. Could be a simple mistake done by the line cook or is this place doing it regularly. I only recommend this place for the sunset view.
Good experience, server was awesome. Food could improve, fries that came with burger were luke warm. Appetizer quality wasn’t up to the price level
Great food and ambiance when stopping in La Jolla
Food was delicious and super fresh. The Patio is simply gorgeous. Best view of La Jolla. We really enjoyed the meal, listening to good Hawaiian music while watching the seals at the beach.
We went there from Dana Point to celebrate my 66th Birthday - I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED - We got a really good table and our server , Justin , was outstanding in every way - our meals were all good but my Sword Fish MAC--CRUSTED was amazing ! Loved it all ! Rob Willis
amazing server! amazing food!
Not worth the price. Coconut scrimp was meh- sea bass dried out. Not worth what you guys charge
Beautiful yet casual. Good for family or for a date -- not pretentious.
Duke’s is normally a great experience with amazing views and fair food but this visit was disappointing. Our service was poor (empty drinks with no refills) despite the restaurant not even being busy. The food was also pretty terrible - even the kids meal of chicken strips were bad. This visit to dukes was a major bummer!
Overall experience was great! Food have distinct taste to it! Would definitely come back soon!
Really busy and understaffed for Sunday breakfast. We waited 15 minutes for our coffee and another 5 for the cream and sugar. She kept apologizing, but with not enough servers, there wasn’t much she could do. Food was great once we got it.
Everything in our experience was excellent. There were four of us and we each got different plates and tried other people’s food. Everything was delicious. At the end we got some kind of frozen ice cream cake that was MASSIVE but it was the best thing we had. The view was gorgeous and the staff were attentive. 10/10
Pleasantly surprised with a large ice cream cake for my sons birthday everybody was very nice and accommodating service was great
I requested a certain table to please my spouse on her birthday. This request was completely satisfied by the staff. My wife was wished Happy Birthday and so our dining began in a great manner
My wife ordered the Mac crushed fish and I the Ahi bowl. Both of us were pleased.
Service remained attentive.
After we finished our mains, the server brought a complementary dessert.
The food and cocktails were outstanding. Service was pretty good the view was amazing
Come for the view, stay for the tacos!
While the ceviche appetizer was good (perhaps slightly rubbery, but with great flavor), the tacos were fantastic! Shared the Korean and fish tacos, and both were stellar. Zingy, spicy flavor and crunch due to the cabbage/slaw.
We were in San Diego for business when this restaurant came up on my restaurant search. This is one of our favorite places to eat when we are on Maui so we had to get to La Jolla to eat there. As usual it did not disappoint. We shared a wedge salad, my spouse had the Mac crusted opa and I had the Hot pot of mixed seafood. All was delicious. We finished with their key lime pie which was fabulous! Always one of my favorite places to dine.
Great food and service!! Everything from start to finish was excellent!! The server was very attentive (7 people) and the evening was awesome!!!
