Duke's La Jolla
Food was underwhelming for the price. Rice was not cooked properly. Sauces were cold. Lobster tails at $49 was so over priced. I’ll have to go back to Waikiki to get authentic Dukes.
It was my husband’s 40th birthday. I took him to Duke’s because he’s a Buffett fan and loves the song Duke’s on Sunday. It was perfect! Staff was great and surprised him with a Hula cake. View was beautiful. We will definitely be going back.
Even though it was raining outside, we still got a nice spot by the rain-shield so still got the natural light! The food was really tasty, and very well priced!
Great spot, casual atmosphere, good food
This is our third visit to La Jolla and we always make it a point to eat at Duke’s for breakfast and dinner. This time we ate one of each meal there and was not disappointed.
The food and service is always great, fresh and well prepared.
I’m sure we’ll be back next year.
We absolutely LOVED Duke’s. I wish I could recall our servers name, but he was fantastic. He originally lived in Hawaii and spoke Hawaiian to us - keeping with the theme! He was so pleasant and made great suggestions for food and drinks.
We sat on the patio which had heaters on it so even on a slightly chilly night, a manager offered to turn them on for us and kept us quite comfortable.
The food was outstanding and we truly felt like we were on vacation with the Hawaiian ambiance. We can’t wait to go back on next time we’re in La Jolla!
Sons birthday. The kids love the view and food.
Delicious food and a beautiful view. The service is second to none. Our waitress Michelle was amazing. Leave room for the hula pie for dessert - a must have.
Delicious fish special - sweet salty and spicy broth with perfectly cooked sea bass. Have to recommend their wedge salad as well - piled high with blue cheese and bacon goodness. The waitress was very attentive, and the kids had a blast with Duke’s bingo on their menu.
The lobster was amazing! Great food with a great atmosphere.
Food was good. Service was good, great view of the ocean and superb ambiance. Great for families with kids who want to sit down for a good meal at a nice restaurant.
Greta food and great view. Been there twice and will go on every visit to San Diego.
We were there for Thanksgiving and their traditional meal was everything we were looking for: Turkey, stuffing, mashed, all was well prepared and absolutely delicious.
We were late as it took us 3 hours to get there. However, they were gracious in seating our grandson that arrived 30 minutes early. I had called ahead to apprise them of the situation. Our server was great and understanding. We knew she could have turned that table once over so we gave her a very good tip. She was prompt and understanding. Food was good and we ended with their Hula Pie which we love. My grandson and I both had the macadamia nut Parmesan crusted swordfish and my husband had steak. Both delicious!
The food and service were fine. It was freezing cold inside. They were unprepared for the rainy weather.
We sat on the balcony overlooking the ocean and it was great! The key lime pie was to die for.
The food is good and well presented! Service staff is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is great and comfortable and the view is amazing.
Everything was so amazing! The view, the drinks, the food. 10/10
We had a wonderful dinner on the patio. The food was excellent I had the Mahi Mahi Dukes special with pomegranate sauce and my husband had the Ahi. Both were really good!
It was a bit chilly and would have been nice if lap blankets were available
Food was fabulous! View for days.
Wonderful service, enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, and entrees.
Love Duke’s- amazing fish tacos and great service.
Service was wonderful. Special birthday touches much appreciated. Steak lacked flavor. Smell was very off putting. Not sure the source. But it smelled like sewage on the patio. I felt terrible for party of 6 and birthday guy. Please take care of it. Not sure we will be back if it is not addressed
Food was too salty and we couldn’t even eat it. They did comp the meals but the manager didn’t even bother coming by the table. Very unprofessional.
First time at this location. Excellent everything. Thank you!
Best decision we made in Our visit to La jollA. The food was outstanding, the ambience and views were incredible. It was super casual, relaxed and fun. Felt beachy and unpretentious. We would highly recommend to anyone!
Had lunch at Duke's on the patio. First of all, the views are breathtaking. I had the caesar salad with chicken. Quite tasty. When you go, please make sure you as for a patio seat either on the first level or the bar area on the second. It is worth having lunch there. You views in itself is well worth it.
Duke's was, as always, GREAT! We asked to be seated outside on the upper patio deck and they put two tables together to seat our party of 10. Birthday treat of Hula Pie was amazing and the food/drinks were top notch. I would definitely go back again and again and again
Nice place on the water
I’ve been to Duke quite a few times and every time it has been a great experience and really good food too.
A great experience !!!
Great service started from when we entered the property! The host and hostess were very hospitable and our waiter was very attentive. The presentation of the food was beautiful and made a great birthday celebration for my brother in law.
Amazing food, wonderful location. Doesn’t get any better
Great atmosphere. The outdoor patio makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii. Ciara, our server, was excellent and made our boys’ birthday brunch feel so special.
For the view and service. Food is underwhelming. Poke tacos were bland and boring. Bloody Mary was good. Our server was sweet and attentive.
Pretty ambiance and good service. Food was nothing special.
Sea bass special was delicious but blistered pea appetizer was totally underwhelming (despite a very interesting set of ingredients). Waiter was very kind and helpful but served the wrong wine. Overall pretty good night.
Great Food & Great Service !
Great food and Aloha atmosphere! Love Dukes and the waterfront view.
Breakfast was delicious, as were the drinks. Crabcake Benedict was wonderful and they were willing to make a traditional Hollandaise sauce. Not fishy at all. Beautiful setting. I enjoyed it very much
