Duke's La Jolla
Service was excellent, food was superb, the heaters really made it very comfy overlooking the Pacific!
Great staff and view and the best calamari l’ve every had!!!
We had a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset (make reservation if you want a great view). The food and cocktail were delicious and the service was topnotch from all staff—especially our waitress. The service felt like we were in Hawaii (not to imply Californias are not as nice...). It was a great end to our visit to La Jolla.
Visiting grandson for the first time in college
Great brunch...Macadamia banana pancakes are fantastic. Very good view and service.
Our waiter was so nice but responsible for entire patio so he was overworked with full tables-we felt bad for him. Food was really good. Amazing deal to be able to sit by the ocean. Wonderful for kids-kids menu and crayons.
A Saturday night supper on the pleasant patio (but see below). Server was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Blistered snap pea appetizer was inedible because the kitchen hadn’t strung the pods. Server was very apologetic and credited that course. We split the tasty, very rich seafood hotpot, which was more of a soup than we expected. And each had a good wedge salad.
Fortunately we were seated one table back from the railing as the seagulls boldly came in and grabbed food from one table as well as generally being a nuisance. A solution to that proble seems imperative.
This was a great spot for lunch. We enjoyed the kahlua pork nachos, dukes fish, and fish tacos! Very delicious. Their lava flow is the best I've had. And we enjoyed the ice cream pie as a complimentary birthday treat.
It was great!
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Nice Hawaiian feeling.
Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, as was the view. We’ll return the next time we’re in La Jolla!
Duke's is always our "go to" place when our kids are home from college and when the weather is good. The food, service, drinks, dnd view never fail to impress!
We had just a special experience at Duke's! We sat on the patio and had the most beautiful view of the cove and the sunset. Our waiter was fantastic with menu suggestions and service.
Excellent food and amazing view of the water! The staff are very helpful. We ate the fish which was fresh and tasty. Drinks were great. We would go back next time we are in La Jolla
Took a friend who was visiting from out of town. Food, drinks, service and ambiance was all better than expected!
Duke's is always had great food and wonderful waiters! One of our favorite places to eat.
One of the great La Jolla Village restaurants with a beautiful view of the ocean. A fresh Californian-Hawaiian menu that is great for lunch. A table out on the balcony will require a wait but worth going even to sit inside.
Great meal and great service in a very pleasant setting.
We had great service and great food. Sat outside and loved the view of the ocean. It was a perfect afternoon lunch spot.
We love Duke's. The food is really incredible, and it's a rare gem in La Jolla if you want outstanding views, excellent service, delicious food, but a casual, low-key atmosphere where you're comfortable walking in with our flip flops on!
The view is great. The cost for the food and for what you get is horrible. My fiancé and I love going here when we visit San Diego. On our trip this time we went here and were very disappointed in the food. It has changed a lot and did not get much for what we ordered. Will probably not be coming back.
Great family celebration!
Food was very good. Swordfish and Mahi mahi. Both very tasty. Well prepared. Also onion soup and crab wonton appetizers - though the dipping sauce with the wonton was non descript. Could have come from a buffet restaurant. Service was a little spotty. Server was a little slow in arriving for initial order. But then appi's and entrees came quickly. Then server disappeared again after we finished dessert. Took awhile to get the check. First time there and didn't know much of the seating is outside. Didn't bring a sweater and wasn't given a "sit inside" option. Brrrr.
Morgan was so genuine and friendly, great food and service!
Outstanding food and service. Thank you for making my wife’s birthday a memorable one!!
Great drinks and food. It was dark, so we didn’t get to enjoy the view but a great place and I would recommend it.
nice place, its on the ocean but you don't really sea unless you are between lucky few who have tables there.
Nice atmosphere, good food & drinks. We were celebrating a birthday...nice touch with the birthday card and complementry hula pie. Always a treat!
really fun dinner - we are locals and considered it always a tourist place - but had a great dinner and will be back
Great food and customer service!
Great time! Great view and good food! Service was amazing!!!
The was our 2nd time here where we brought our son. We ordered calamari and wings for an appetizers. The wings were over cooked, dry and cold. Calamari was good. My wife was unable to finish her fish dinner because it was cold and over salted. My fish tacos were cold and soggy. My son who is a land lover order ribs and chicken. It was very dry and cold. He didn’t finish it. Beer was good and cold. Service was extremely slow. We probably won’t be there again. Thanks for making a great place suck!
Great time. Service was excellent and staff was great.
Great food, service & ambiance, but horribly noisy!
We brought out of town friends there for dinner and they could not stop raving about the food, service and ambience.
We went on a rainy day, so the view was non-existent. The food, decor and service were all great. I made a reservation for a Saturday morning, we were promptly seated. The wait staff was super courteous and helpful to us in choosing our menu items.
Me and My Wife love it, the ambiance, the food, it was perfect!
Always a good dinner. Dukes Fish plate is the best, and you can't beat the drinks!
Great experience especially with their service as well. The food is very good and they have a great fish dish.
