Great service. Excellent food. Great ocean view. Music from downstairs was too loud and could not hear each other talk.
The food was mostly delicious, but the Keiki (kids) menu was lacking. The macaroni and cheese was just some cooked pasta with some cheese sprinkled on top...watery and gritty. Our food was really delicious though. And the drinks were great too.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Duke’s Kauai, especially the cocktails that are served in a pineapple and in a coconut shell. What a sweet and fun way to serve them.
The restaurant is beautiful and the servers are helpful and courteous. We will definitely be back.
Asked for a specific area to be seated in my reservation…didn’t happen. Had to send some food back - overcooked. Server must have bee new—-she never came back to check on our order, provided extremely slow service(and the restaurant was not full!
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The coconut shrimp appetizer and calamari were amazing. Our family of six enjoyed everything we ordered as well as yummy drinks, live music and great ambiance. Service was top notch!
We always visit Duke’s while vacationing on Kauai. My wife and I just celebrated our 33 wedding anniversary along with our two daughters and their husbands. Everything was fabulous! The servers struggled a bit under the COVID restrictions to meet expectations but, all in all we had a memorable experience dining with Duke’s.
The food was absolutely delicious, no complaints there. However, the service left much to be desired. We had reservations and arrived promptly yet a walk in for two was seated before us….. so we had to wait well past our reservation time. Also our server wasn’t very pleasant - I asked for recommendations and she didn’t seem excited or willing to offer much help in that area. We ordered an appetizer which seemed to sit under the heat lamp for longer than necessary - I had to remind our server that we ordered the short ribs. Even though the top two were a bit dried out, they were still quite tasty. The service we received seemed quite slow compared to other tables, I believe our dinner experience took about two hours, which seemed a bit long as tables that were seated after us were finishing well before us. Overall 4 stars for the excellent food - but a deduction for the 1 star service.
Excellent table in middle of the tropical greenery. Excellent waitress with tons of personality to deal with 3 kids 5 and under. Food was delicious as was the Mai Tais. Was celebrating 67th birthday and it was perfect along with the hula pie-Yummy !!!
Went for a birthday. All the meals were excellent, though I found the garnish on the Ahi steak excessively salty.
We had their prime rib buffett on Saturday (or Wednesday). It was so yummy with 2 kinds of poke, a buttery cooked fish and prime rib with over a dozen sides and salads. We really enjoyed it. The view was amazing, service was great.
It was perfect and a beautiful location
Outstanding as usual
Beautiful, delicious food, amazing waiter, ocean view, ambiance. Perfect!!
Great overall! Great service!!
Best pupu in island 🌴
My husband and I were really disappointed by our experience at Duke’s on our honeymoon. We’ve heard such good things but the quality of the food and presentation reminded us of a TGI Friday’s. Not sure if it’s just this particular Duke’s but I wouldn’t recommend.
Lobster over cooked, no pineapple limited salad bar.
Traditional place to go, but food wasn’t as good. Mac Nut Crusted fish had minimal sauce, veges were basic and salad bar was missing half the items normally available. Really missed the zucchini bread muffins from the salad bar.
Food and service were excellent. Had a reservation and waited only a few minutes for our table. Drinks and food arrived on time. No complaints. Server was very attentive.
Birthday & Anniversary
The food, service, and ambiance were excellent! Our server was Delaney, and she was great. The $13 Mai Tai is overpriced, but it was good. Hula pie was awesome. Great experience!
Great views, although a rain storm came in, but they were able to put see-through flaps up to keep us from getting wet. It didn't last long. Fried rice is the best!
Food was underwhelming overall. Starters were quite nice but the mains let us down. We needed a special order for our daughter with food allergies and they put minimal effort in - but it was safe. Servers were constantly hurrying us.
Extremely nice waitress- great food.
Great food….outstanding ambiance….Duke’s is just special.😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful location and ambiance. Upstairs dining room overlooks the beach and surf, downstairs has an indoor waterfall and rain forest - you can't go wrong either way! Prime rib was fantastic and rare (just the way I like it). Staff is young but very sweet and accommodating. There's also great live music (was a singer/guitarist this evening) from 6-8pm. Will definitely make this a regular spot 👍🍷🥩👍
Wonderful waitress, food, view & ambiance!!!
Food tasted like it came from frozen TV dinners- reheated and bland. We had multiple different plates from kids hamburger to Dukes “special” fish. Appetizers were just OK. SAVE your money and go elsewhere!
Great service, beautiful location!
We booked Duke’s on my nephew’s recommendation. It was our last night on Kauai, and we were celebrating our anniversary. We were entranced from the minute we arrived. The valet and hostesses were very welcoming, the views were exceptional, and the atmosphere was friendly. We were fortunate to have Blaze as our server! Her energy and exuberant attitude made her one of the best servers we’ve ever encountered anywhere! We followed her suggestions and ordered the macadamia nut hummus appetizer, coconut ginger braised seafood, furikake tuna steak, all of which was delectable, and so different from our usual selections. And then there was dessert: Hula Pie for the win! If we lived in Hawaii, Duke’s would be on our list of regular restaurants. As it is, we’d highly recommend it to anyone!
Must try the Macadamia hummus it was delicious! Also the Hula Pie.
Dukes was a wonderful experience! We had a great view, yummy drinks, and tasty food. Make sure you add on the salad bar to your meal and be sure to get the Hula Pie— SO good! I can’t wait to go back!
Madison our Server was outstanding! The food was excellent. 2 people at our table had the Furikake ahi and said it was outstanding. Drinks great. Mo betta beverage was delicious.
The food was overcooked and dry. Overpriced for the quality of the food. The waitress seemed tired even though they just opened. View was pretty.
Only so-so food, very long wait for the server when we arrived and throughout the evening. Over two hours for dinner. No where near as good as we had been told. Huli Pie was great though. Would spend my time and money elsewhere, if given the chance.
We were really looking forward to great fish and hula pie for my husband’s birthday. Very disappointed that there were only 2 choices of fish and only 2 preparations. Then we learned that Duke’s was out of hula pie!!! Fortunately, our server, Madison, found a piece for us to share - she really came through for us - Mahalo Madison!!
We had reservations early, before 5pm. We were greeted with a sign that read, "out of hula pie." Then told there is no Happy Hour! To pay $17 for a Mai Tai which consisted of mostly ice was ridiculous! Will not go back to Duke's on this trip! Pretty disappointing!
Delicious food, great service, and atmosphere!! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Kauai. We dined on Sunday when they offer crab. My husband enjoyed prime rib and crab while I had filet mignon and crab. Both meals were some of the best we’ve had!!
Food was great and service was amazing! We went out to dinner to celebrate our honeymoon and sat overlooking the beach, it could not have been better 😊
Food was terrible not enjoyable. Greasy and not good
