   Our meal was not up to the quality we have had in the past. Disappointed, the French onion soup was removed from the menu. The fresh catch was dry. The vegetables were overcooked. Jasmine rice was bland.

   This was our second visit during our 11 day stay. The first visit was very good; last night was not. Our fish was a little dry, vegetable very soggy and the sauce for fish was almost non existent. We felt very rushed; we hadn’t even finished our salads and dinner arrived. Our server had said she would wait to put our order in. We were very disappointed. We were in and out in less than an hour.

   All of the waitstaff seem to be happy to be serving you and also to be helping each other. Our food was completely delicious, including the hula pie dessert!

   This is like a old school restaurant that never improved anything or the menu. The people that work there are fantastic. It is so on appetizing. The whole area at Kalapaki Beach has terrible food. We’re thinking about never going back to Sonesta hotel, or the Marriott Beach club because the food is so dreary and terrible.

    My prime rib was ordered medium rare. It actually well done, not medium rare. And it wasn’t a good piece of meat. Disappointed and won’t return.

    We had brunch at 10:45a. Eggs-cold. Bacon-so greasy it was dripping off. Eggs Benedict - cold & the English muffin was so hard it couldn’t be cut with a knife. Pancakes - cold. All this for over $90.00 for two! So extremely disappointed.

    Free valet service, friendly staff, good strong cocktails and flavorful meals and a free Hula pie dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. Very good value compared to higher prices at other area restaurants. There was pleasant live music till 8p. We had the Duke’s Mai Tai, Kalapaki Mai Tai, Duke’s cheeseburger and teriyaki sirloin.

    We love Dukes, especially upstairs with the salad bar. We arrived early but they were able to accommodate us, and gave us a deck table that we loved. Their salad bar is still amazing for the $7 add on price. We both got the Mac nut mahi, perfectly prepared. We switched out mashed potatoesOur server Sean was friendly, helpful, and gave us time to relax and take our time. I couldn’t have enjoyed it more, we will definitely be back.

    Beautiful ocean view from table. Drinks were excellent and our server was very attentive. Restaurant was beautiful with a water feature running through the main floor of the building. We enjoyed the lobster which was almost sweet in flavor, very good. Calamari with guava cocktail sauce, the fruit was not overpowering we also really enjoyed this. And lastly the duke’s seasonal fish which happened to be swordfish was tender and not too chewy. All in all we had a great experience here will definitely be returning!

    They gave us a wonderful table. Being seated was expedient and our waiter was charming. My husband loved the food. I had wished for a few more choices, such as a white fish. But what we had was delicious.

    The sunday brunch was a great experience for our extended family. The staff was very friendly from Kelsey(spelling?) to our server Kim to the gentleman at the prime rib station (who took the end cut snd heated s little more fir my wife)They all helped us celebrate our granddaughter’s second birthday,

    We were very disappointed in our experience at Duke’s. We have been there many times before and us our go-to place on our first night on Kauai. Upon checking in with our reservation we were told it would take about 15-20 minutes our table to be ready. They would text us while we waited at the bar. At least 20 minutes passed before we w their text. The hostess said they had called our name several times before sending the text. It would have been impossible to hear our name called from the bar with music played. We were lead to a dimly lit table with many other better tables empty nearby. No attempt to apologize for not texting first nor for the poor table. The new menu is much reduced from times past the host staff is clearly not inviting nor accommodating. Our server was the only bright spot in the whole evening. My coconut fried shrimp was overcooked almost burnt. If it had not been fir the server thus review would be even worse. Yesterday will probably be the last time at Duke’s. Too bad. It once was great but no more 😝😝😝

    The ambiance was great, but very disappointed that our anniversary was not recognized by the girls at the reception area or by the waiter. The girls at the front were very unpleasant and not very welcoming. There are so many other great restaurants on the island so would not return to this one.

    Our waiter was wonderful. The fish was very good, but not generous with the encrusted macadamia nuts. We did ask for extra sauce for the fish and rice. Broccoli was very sparse. I was disappointed with the salad bar. I prefer a salad bar where the ingredients are available to create your own salad with bins of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, beans, beets, hard cooked egg, etc etc. and choice of dressings. Very disappointing not to see local fruits as papaya offered. Not really impressed with any of the premade salads with dressing offered for Salad Bar.

    Ordered the mac-nut snapper with added lobster. The lobster was perfectly cooked. The snapper was overdone. Flavors were good. We definitely had better finished fish at Duke's before. Their Barefoot Bar provided better finished fish the other day. Service was great as usual.
