This is our second visit to a Dukes this week. Great view, music and good. Nice server and bar staff.
Outstanding prime rib! Fish entreés very good. Great ambience, located overlooking Kalapaki Bay.
Mixed review. Waitress lovely. Table perfect location. Salad bar was not great. Watery dressing on Caesar. Tasteless pasta salad. Very good potato salad. Fish good. Steak decent. Dukes is not what it used to be.
Food was just average and way too expensive for the portion size. Staff not particularly helpful either. Coconut shrimp was obviously frozen with no flavor, ribs were over done, 2 tiny ribs, chicken seemed like just a frozen small chicken breast that was tasteless, green beans were not done. We went for the prime rib, but changed our minds after seeing just small pieces that looked like over cooked roast beef medallions. I don't think we will be back.
Delicious food and perfectly cooked fish. Settings is idyllic. Service was good, but a bit error prone. Highly recommended.
Great beach vibe. Great food, cocktails and service
Great food, drinks, and ambience.
Awesome food and service
My crusted fish was delicious but the sides that were plated with it were cold.
Dukes is always a great meal
Duke’s rocks !What else is there to say ???????????????????????????????????
Nice place, excellent view. Good menu choices, clean and open space.
We were very disappointed that they did nothing for our 50th anniversary. We told them when we booked the reservation that it was very important to us as It was such a special day. We reminded them at the front desk when we came with our six friends. They did nothing. It ruined our night
The main courses we had were very good. We had an Korean ribs appetizer was a disappointment. Overpriced for 5 mostly bone ribs. The little meat was very chewy. The salad bar was unremarkable.
As usual .... excellent. The view is beautiful. The food delicious.... very glad they still have a salad bar, even is plated for you. The service is excellent both times we visited. I like a table in the front a little away from the music which comes up from the first floor. Will be back next year.
We enjoyed our meal very much
There had been some menu changes since the last time we ate here and limited happy hour menu but everything was tasty and the service was good.
We had a great lunch at Duke’s just before we flew home. We were seated adjacent to the waterfall, and it was such a lovely setting for our final meal in Hawaii. My husband ordered the hamburger and he loved it. I had the pork sandwich and it was huge, but I finished it all! It was so good. We shared the gigantic hula pie for dessert. We barely made a dent in it. If it weren’t a frozen dessert, I would have taken it on the plane! Delicious!
Our server was attentive, friendly and efficient. It was a wonderful experience.
Great food, excellent service & beautiful setting!
Tori took care of us. She is a terrific server. Very professional and very personable. Great food, excellent table and wonderful music from John Mahi!
The food, the view and dessert ...
For travelers with mid-afternoon flights, this is a perfect pre-flight lunch spot just minutes to the LIH airport. You check out at 11 ish, go have a great lunch on the beach and are in plenty of time for a ~ 3p flight. Especially as the services at LIH are still a bit limited as they gradually re-open (May 2021). Grilled seasoned fish "lunch plates" were just what we wanted. And lunch prices seemed very reasonable to us.
An amazing way to start our vacation in Hawaii
Very disappointed. Valet parking is the only option. Secondly the teenage hostess lacked the skill to deal with our request for a better table. Waitress could not be bothered with our questions so we ordered a drink. Finally the drink arrived and we requested the check. I was prepared to pay immediately but the waitress scampered off to another table. I had to chase her down to deliver the credit card. Staff need basic customer service skill training
The fish was old and dried out. The salad bar was the best part of the meal along with our server, Savanna.
We were staying at the Marriott on property and had a similar or better view from our room. I think you mostly pay for the view at this place, personally. It's a great spot. However, the food is just ok and expensive. If it didn't have the view, it wouldn't be worth it at all, in my opinion.
We eat at Duke’s every time we come to Kauai, but this time was a disappointment. It was a “significant” birthday celebration for my wife. I stated that when I booked the table. I also told them when we were seated. We waited quite a while for our server. She told us they would give us a slice of Hula Pie for the celebration. As far as the food was concerned, the main course was great for all four of us.(fish)The salad bar was sad - pretty bare compared to pre-Covid times. We enjoyed our Hula Pie, but found out later, they charged us for it. Shame on us for not catching it before we left. Shame on them for charging us.
Vacation. Brought with us a family member who has never been in Hawaii before. Loved the food, service, and water view. Also enjoyed Hula Pie at the end.
One of our favorites on Kauai.
very glad this restaurant is open. its beautiful and in a great location.
the fish was a little over cooked and not super warm, but we still enjoyed it and will go back.
Classy huge Restaurant with quality. Was surprised to see a salad bar open again.
Barriers and someone else filled your plate.
Baked Ono was outstanding as the salad bar.
Food options abbreviated perhaps due to Covid. Place very tired....
We are on the path to improve quality diet, unfortunately we fell the quality of the food at Duke's, is not organic, that means we fell a bit sick next day.
The wine, is not a Duke's class selection, most wines on the menu are from California, and there they are using too much poison fertilizers and high amount of sulfite, if you want continue sell them, is fine, but give to worldwide customers a better choice, such from Italy and France were the wine regulations are improved.
We love be there, and my opinion is just expecting to improve the pleasure to return many times.
My question is, if you fell a bit sick next day due to a dinner on a restaurant, do you back to the place to eat again ? I will return to dinner at Duke's and hope see more organic and healthy food and wine. Thanks for ask me.
So nice to have the salad bar back! The staff now serves you, but still delicious!
Excellent Sunday brunch. Fresh foods. Great service. Amazing view.
After so many years of success this iconic place seemed to be just phoning it in on our latest visit with slow service and average quality food.
Great place to have a delicious meal on a beautiful patio before we had to leave the island. Perfect ending to a wonderful vacation!
The food and drinks are always great at Dukes. Always nice settings by the water.
Great dinner as always at Dukes. Every year it's a pre planned reservations for dinner while in Kauai.
