We had a late flight out and being only five minutes to the airport was nice. Great service from a very knowledgeable waiter, great salad bar and menu. The music was quite good and the ambience is perfect.

Requested a table by the railing. We were early searing at 5:15 pm and there were tables open. We were not seated at the open railing tables but rather crammed against the wall. Uncomfortable, cramped...request completely ignored by hostess!

We came to Kauai to revisit fond memories of past anniversaries. When the hostess at Duke’s wanted to seat us , we told her we wanted to eat downstairs as we had on previous anniversaries gor the nostalgia and view. She told us we couldn’t and seated us upstairs away from the view even though two tables for two with a view were vacant. When our waiter came, we told him the same thing. He told us downstairs was a completely different restaurant and they were full with a line and couldn’t take us. So we ordered a delicious meal in a place we didn’t want to be, blocked from any view by a large and loud group. After dinner, we went downstairs to ask the hostess how to get a table there if we ever returned again for our anniversary. During our conversation, we learned that when we came at 5:30 , they had not been busy, nor had there been a line.
We had been lied to in order to keep our dollars upstairs. As a result, our anniversary was not what we were hoping and we have lost any fond feelings we had for Duke’s. I would not recommend them for a special occasion or for a nice waterfront view.

Duke's took such good care of my family, and allowed us to chat over dessert.
Good food, beautiful setting, friendly professional wait staff -- what more could anyone ask!
And don't forget to order the hula pie, it's a classic!

We love going to Duke's, we always have the salad bar, we were surprised that the pineapple wasn't fresh, it almost looked canned or prepared elsewhere. A couple of the pasta salads were not particularly flavorful, potato salad and Caesar salad are always great. We all chose to have the Coconut and Ginger Braised Seafood with rice, had three varieties of fish fish shrimp, a small lobster tail and mushrooms, was fresh and tasty. They are pretty full after salad bar and meal so opted out of dessert. The Hula pie looked pretty inviting all around us though. Our server was Frank and he was very attentive and personable and gave us great service.

We spent a night at the Marriott and looked forward to dinner at Dukes. Whenever we’re on Kauai, Dukes is a must. We love the salad bar! This time I had the lilikoi glazed Tofu and my husband had the prime rib. Both delicious! We were so full after our Salads and entrees that we couldn’t squeeze in a hula pie which we regret now. We definitely recommend Dukes

the staff was great, the service was super, the food was spot on. the only thing i could think that would make it better, was to schedule our meal to start earlier, so we could leave right after the sunset.

Wait staff was outstanding and food was equally outstanding, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and our waiter gave us a hula pie free of charge. The hula pie by the way is a must have, nothing like it anywhere.

We enjoyed our 38th Anniversary celebration at Duke's. Wonderful! I had opakapaka with parmesan macadamia crust...to die for! Husband had prime rib. It was the best I ever tasted! Then there was the Hula pie. It was memorable and will now be a tradition!!!

Fantastic location, food and service. Our waiter Joshua, was terrific.
We own a small beef farm in Canada and the Prime Rib I was served was as good as I’ve ever had. Au Jus was amazing.
Wife said her fish was as good as she’s ever had as well.
Can’t go wrong, make a reservation or arrive before 5 for premium seating on beachfront. It’s worth it as the view is spectacular.
Would definitely return.

The food was great, although I expected a little more from the salad bar for the price. It was also really difficult to find the parking and the entrance. Other than that, everything was great. We told our server we were in a hurry and she was very accommodating. She did a great job timing our food. My husband ordered his steak rare and he said it was prepared perfectly. The Hula pie was also amazing.

Got there 20 min past reservation so had to sit at bar for 20 min until a rail table (not carpet) table opened up. That was fine with us. Worth the wait for the view. Excellent food. Park at Marriott valet or down by the market and walk over bridge.

We had a lovely dinner at Duke's Kauai this week. Even though we had been there before, this time was the best thanks to our wonderful server, Erin. She is a great representative for the restaurant: she was totally familiar with the menu and the relative quantity of food, which helped us decided what to order. She was ever cheerful, attentive and kind. Duke's dining room menu is good but not terribly exciting. Some of the descriptions were incomplete as we discovered after questioning Erin. She told us that everything comes with side dishes but most of the menu did not mention anything except the main item. They need to work on that because some of us will order based on the sides accompanying the main. This I know because I have done that on many occasions. We did beef entrees this time and both were very good. If you are considering the prime rib, please be aware that it is HUGE. It would easily serve two people. I had the sirloin and it was excellent and so was the roasted garlic mashed potatoes. We didn't have room for dessert but went for the hula pie anyway. The best! The atmosphere here was calm, comfortable and not noisy. But the bar downstairs was not very busy so it might be noisier if there is live music and crowds downstairs. I would definitely recommend this place, especially on an "off" night when there aren't crowds everywhere.

It's a regular stop for us when we visit the island. Great views of the harbor, with a spacious and comfortable dining room. Good food and service. Parking is a little problematic, with only valet.

We had an amazing time, food was outstanding and our waitress was awesome! My one and only complaint was the heat and humidity, I think that installing some fans would help immensely. If you go, get the Ahi!! So good!!

Duke’s used to be the best dining on Kauai but sadly no longer. Salad bar doesn’t compare to the local grocery store and twice our fish was badly over-cooked. The apologies were nice but the old place has lost its punch.

Very crowded. We had a reservation but table not ready so went to bar and ordered. No place to sit and wait. Then a table for 2, nice. Until a very noisy group of 4 were seated at next table. We would have enjoyed an after dinner drink, but instead ate quickly and left. We mentioned to waiter, but nothing he could do since restaurant was full. What CAN be done in this circumstance.???
