You can never go wrong choosing Duke's as your place to dine. Food is always fresh, delicious, and seasonal. The wait staff is impeccable -- fiendly and attentive. Although their prices have risen steadily over the years, the food is worth every penny. Duke's Birthday Club has great deals, too. (It's free to join.) I highly recommend Duke's for any occasion, though!

My wife and I had a wonderful "pre" Birthday celebration (for me) at Duke's on April 9th! We were delighted when we were informed that it was "Tacoma Days" and Duke's was offering a three course dinner for just $30.00!! Of course we took advantage of that with Chowder (my wife had the Goat Cheese Salad with Bacon), Goat Cheese and Blueberry Salmon with Vegies (lots of fresh Blueberries!), fabulous Hot Sourdough Bread and Carrot Cake for dessert!! We ate so much and enjoyed it so much we had to take our Carrot Cake to go (it was even better the next night!). Laura W. was a terrific Server keeping our Ice Tea glasses full. We love Duke's Email Club and always take advantage of the "Returning Customer" Rewards. We have dined at Duke's many, many times (mostly in Tacoma, but also at Tukwila) since moving to Port Orchard five years ago and have always had a wonderful, memorable dinner no matter what the weather. The views are always gorgeous, the dining room always warm and cozy and the food always delicious. We have entertained family and friends at Duke's and they always say....."Wow, what a great evening we had at Duke's, let's go there again"! We lived in Fairbanks, Alaska over 40 years so we, of course, LOVE Salmon and are very appreciative of the fact Duke is concerned about their habitat and sustainability. Thank you Duke!!

seafood was overcooked, the bourbon honey glazed salmon had a watery coating of something that tasted neither like bourbon nor honey. shrimp was cooked to point of being tough. Our table was in a nice location by the window overlooking the ocean, but the table was so small it could barely accommodate two dinner plates and two glasses.

Food and service was great but the food is a bit overpriced. Only problem I had was the greater arrived 15 minutes before reservation and was told we had to wait till our time. There were 5 empty tables if not more. When asked about why we have to wait we were told not enough servers. The funny thing we were sat at one of the empty tables 15 minutes later.

Dukes is a cross between a waterfront restaurant and a pub. I prefer this more relaxed atmosphere over fine dining. The appetizers and entrees are nonetheless worthy of a good restaurant and range from gourmet dinners to pub burgers. I had a Thai Ginger True Cod special that was generous and delicious. The fresh sourdough bread was really good. I did not take part of libations, so have no comment on that. I will definitely return.

Best chowder ever! We did the clam chowder and it is definitely award winning in my book. It is easily our new favorite spot for seafood since moving to the area! Soooo nice but still casual. And love that it’s on the water. The booths were a tad small for our family of 4 but worth it.

We requested seating in an alcove to accommodate an infant seat. The staff was fabulous and sat us in the perfect spot with a sling for the infant car seat and a fabulous view of the water. Our server was very friendly, very informed about the food and attentive. The food was delicious. We will return whenever we are in the area.

I was a bit disappointed in the food.
I sent back the calamari because it was bland and tasteless the waitress replaced it with the coconut shrimp appetizer it was delicious. The clam chowder soup was good. The crab cake was a bit disappointing little flavor. The Caesar salad was okay. Overall good experience food okay price expensive

We have had consistently good meals at Duke’s, and this was no exception. This time we were attracted by half price bottles of wine on Mondays and the emphasis on Washington wines.

Two of us ordered a “mixed grill “ that included shrimp, scallops, and a crab cake, along with delicious vegetables. I’m not sure a crab cake fits into the grill nomenclature, but I’m glad it was there. The third diner ordered a stuffed Alaskan pollock from the specials menu and said that it was very good. The mixed grill was well-prepared and cooked just right. An accompanying pesto sauce was very good.

Service was timely, friendly, non-obtrusive, and knowledgeable.

We chose a Rose to accompany the dishes, and it went well with all of the dishes. No dessert this time.

Overall a great dining experience. We will be back.
