Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Southcenter
Food was good but was very slow during a non busy lunch hour.
Fast service, friendly wait staff, a little expensive.
My family of four went on a Saturday late afternoon. Our server was friendly. Food was out within 15 minutes. Delicious! Their happy hour is great, 7 days a week :)
The food was excellent. We all had salads. Seafood was fresh, greens crispy and perfectly dressed to compliment the food not overpower it.
Its good but pricey 15-30 per entree. staff was great
I had made a reservation for a group of 6 women for lunch and they put us in a very private area of the restaurant which worked perfectly. Delicious fish tacos and no rush to move us out! Thank you
Service was awesome and the food was great using OpenTable got us a super fast reservation .. great experience
The food is always delicious and the staff is super friendly an so accommodating. Highly recommend! Just wish there was a beautiful view like the Tacoma waterfront location.
Great pesto salmon. Sourdough was amazing (wish there had been more!). Service was very attentive. Food came out quickly. A little loud and would have been pricey if we hadn’t had a coupon.
We've loved this place again. The food was perfect and delicious.
Went to dinner for my dads birthday and had an excellent experience, we love going to Duke’s!
Soup was okay but not the best chowder and portion was small for the price
I continue to be impressed with the quality of food at Duke's. It's not inexpensive, but they care and it shows.
Good food and good service. Prices a bit high so will be awhile before coming back but had a good time.
This place has always been impressive. I like where we were seated very much, being able to have a conversation and a nice business meal as well was rewarding. Would book again!
It was great food, the server was great, helpful with recommendations but some items were a little pricey for what we got.
I had the calamari appetizer and i am pretty sure it wasn't fresh, it tasted like frozen.
Very nice evening with our daughter and son-in-law. Meal was delicious and service was superb!
Duke's is an average restaurant and one of the better one's at the Southcenter Mall. Food was a little too salty for our tastes. Dungeness crab cakes were very good and I enjoyed my salmon. My wife had Halibut and chips. We would go again if we were in the mood for seafood and at the Mall. Service was very good.
The prawn appetizer was great. I had the blueberry and goat cheese topped salmon. My salmon was dry and well done. The others enjoyed their dinners. Our server was great, nice, knowledgeable, but no one came in to bus side dishes and detail table. Would have liked a refill on coffee.
Overall, our first time was an ok experience. Even though the service and atmosphere were great, the food came out a little underwhelming. A downer for me was the undercooked Halibut. But the attention that the staff provided prior to and after the issue was excellent. We all are humans and I can appreciate perfection but sometimes it’s the mistakes that makes us better
The halibut was great but not enough sauce and vegetables.
I dined with a business partner and a client and they both thought their entrees were quite good. Mine however was really bad. I had “Barrel-Aged Bourbon” Wild Copper River Salmon and the Salmon was the most over-cooked fish I’ve ever had. Tasteless and fiber-y. The side vegetables tasted good but were barely warm. I was assured the chef recommended medium rare for the Salmon which I enthusiastically agreed is the only proper way and to error on rare rather than medium.
I did not complain for risk of disappointing my client who recommended Duke’s. But given the prices, I’ll steer clear next time.
Awesome food and service. Will definitely return.
The clam chowder and rockfish tacos are always fantastic!
Birthday lunch. Party of four. We ordered three fish and chips (2 cod 1 halibut)
Unfortunately the fish was very dry. Very disappointing!
The Caesar chicken salad was good and the desserts.
Our waiter was awesome!
Food was just ok. Service spotty. I was disappointed based on the reviews I read. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back.
This visit was our first to this location. The food is great quality and we even liked the burgers with gf buns.
Everyone was helpful and then enjoyed the job of helping customers.
We have never been disappointed in the food at this location. Our waiter was attentive and very busy. Not any time for small talk. Arrived early and sat at the bar and the bartender made our night. It was my birthday celebration and he made it feel like a celebration. Due to the inclement weather an alarm went off several times advising us that the mall was closing at 6pm. That was a bit annoying. Overall I would give the evening 5 stars.
You can't miss with Duke's! The food is always superb -- especially the "I Hear the Ocean" salad. The waitstaff is always cordial and efficient. And the menu selections fresh and tasty. This was the first time I had eaten at the Duke's at Southcenter (I normally go to the one in Tacoma on Ruston Way). I can definitely say that the quality and flavor of the food is consistent across locations. Thanks so much to Danny, our server, for making our lunch visit so pleasant (and, as always, a big shout-out to Wade at the Ruston location for his warmth, mirth, and efficiency!). I highly recommend Duke's not only to out-of-towners, but to locals as well!
We love coming to Duke's! it is definitely a favorite of ours. The food is always great and the staff is always really helpful and friendly.
Had a great time with family for my daughters birthday. Food was great, service outstanding! We had 17 people with 3 being under 4 years old. All had a good time and the kids ate too
The quality of the food was not worth the price. It wasn’t terrible but I didn’t care for the clam chowder and my Caesar salad had old lettuce. The blueberry lemon drop was pretty good, though. Not a place I plan on going back to any time soon.
Originally being from New England, I obviously had to have a bowl of this award winning clam chowder. The chowder itself was good and hearty with lots of bacon, clams and not overpowering with potato like some clam chowder can be. However, it's not worth the extremely high price. In addition, my Cod fish and chips were ok, but for what it was, overpriced. It's a very nice restaurant and the employees were pleasant, however, I'm not totally sure the prices are worth it.
Good atmosphere. Good service. Good food. They stuffed crab into the Cod and it was delicious!
My salmon was good, one of colleague's crab cake was exceptional, I thought the calamari was very tough and presentation was average. Other appetizers were OK! Server was very attentive. They have never been one of my favorite spots.
Dukes unchopped seafood salad was a hit. Had great service.
Three of us arrived for a nice lunch. Our waiter was great! To our amazement, he brought reading glasses in case any of us, of a certain age, needed them to read the menu. We were delighted. He gave us plenty of time to make up our minds about what we wanted -- it was hard to decide because there were so many good choices; brought the food promptly; kept our water glasses filled; and checked in to see how we liked our food -- which all three of us did. The atmosphere was relaxing and conducive to good conversation, in particular because of how quiet it was in the restaurant. We didn't have to shout over too-loud music or bad acoustics to be able to talk to our friends -- that is hard to find these days in most restaurants.
Duke's is definitely a restaurant we will return to and will recommend to others.
