Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Lake Union

Asked for a special table (Birthday Celebration) and was seated next to a wait station. A bit noisy . Food was amazing.
Duke's consistently serves outstanding, sustainable and delicious food. It works well with food restrictions and perfect for my family's needs. I did not know Duke's had moved. The new location is very nice. I wish it had a fireplace. It was surprising to see this element eliminated, especially in Seattle with gloomy and chilly days. Maybe in the future? Duke's is our family go-to restaurant. Definitely one of our top favorites.
The new location is over the top! The food and service were the same as always, AMAZING!
There weren't many customers at the time of day that we were there but the tables seemed to close together and I noticed several parties that arrived after we were sat, requested from the hostess to not be sat at the tables around the tables that were occupied. I think that if those tables had been sat at that our party would have felt the pressure but being that close tables close to us remained unoccupied until just before we departed we were quite comfortable. One of our partie's chair was actually touching the chair behind him making his egress from his chair more difficult, because that table had just become occupied.
First time in the SLU location. The ambiance and decor was fantastic! I was there to celebrate my friend's birthday and we shared an appetizer and delicious lunch (thank you kitchen staff for dividing our entree into two different plates). We didn't want a dessert, even though the server offered it complimentary, so they comped our appetizer. Totally unexpected but very much appreciated!
Amazing service end to end. Fabulous food. Wonderful environment. Our favorite spot!! Love the new location.
Always a favorite of ours. Really liked the new location in South Lake Union. I would like to recommend that the servers give a little extra time between courses so that not all food is delivered at the same time. It is nice to have a little break between appetizers and main course. Not a complaint but diners do not want to feel rushed and rather enjoy the fabulous food.
The waiter is extremely nice, the portion is large. Good for value.
Duke's is one of our 'go to " places the food quality and service are always excellent and always consistent. But as with almost all modern restaurants the noise level is more than we would like to deal with when desiring to have a quiet conversation. That is why if like us you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere try to schedule your lunch at an off hour in mid afternoon to make the experience truly enjoyable.
We brought my family here for a get together and it was so delicious. Everyone enjoyed their mean and the drinks were pleasant as well. This location is gorgeous as well!
We had a party of 10 for my husbands birthday and we were blown away by the flavor and food quality. Everything that was ordered was great! We will be back and definitely recommend for a special but still semi casual occasion.
Extensive menu, delicious food, great atmosphere ... the new South Lake Union location is larger and very attractive. Lunch prices are a little high.
Grilled shrimp was excellent, full of flavor not a hint of fishiness. Husband liked his wild salmon salad. Award winning chowder a bit too rich.
Food was greasy and bland. The appetizer portion sizes were very small and the server did not provide any insight on the adequateness for the group
I have always loved Duke's and the new (old) location is perfect! Casual but elegant, and the view is to die for. Thanks!
Went with my friend on a Sunday night 6 PM - due to construction on Fairview it was a bit of a challenge to negotiate the 'local access only' to Dukes - sign not that well lit! Able to find street parking, and we got the window seats as requested. Server "Ana?" was lovely and excellent, went out of her way to meet our every need and request. Did I mention we were both getting our 'FREE birthday dinners'???? Everything was cooked to perfection. Only negative was we could have done without the raucous large sports screens, which reflected so much in the window glass that we couldn't see the marina or boats, so the 'window seat experience' was nil and disappointing.
I live near Duke's, so it's my neighborhood favorite. The food is consistently very good to great; the crabcake and the clam chowder are standouts. There's something for everyone on their (almost too-big) menu. It's a little touristy and a bit on the spendy side; on the other hand, everything I've had there has been very high quality and you get to sit right on the water, so it's not overpriced for what it is. My favorite is to amble down on a weekend during the day; I'm not sure if it's loud or crowded in the evenings. My experience has been that it's usually pretty easy to get a table and not too loud.
Our server (Lacy) was lovely and her recommendations were right on. The broad menu satisfied a wide range of palates, including one with some specific dietary requests, which were accommodated to a rave review. Thank you for making our evening lovely...
PS -- you need to update your nw location with Uber for us out-of-towners! :-)
We had a wonderful meal and great service. The table we were seated at a very awkward table (table 24?). The table is behind a post and felt closed in and tight. Other than the awkward table the new location is beautiful and spacious. Looking forward to future meals here and enjoying the new patio...but not at table 24.
The new location is beautiful! And, as usual the food was excellent. Duke's is a bit pricey but the quality of the fish, meat & poultry is completely worth it.
Loved the new restaurant and much better layout than the previous Duke's.
First time at the new SLU location. The new venue is gorgeous! Love how much more natural light there is in the dining area, and of course it's great it's still on the water -- tho I think the previous location felt closer to it and wasn't blocked by the marina. But overall, solid Duke's experience. Huge portions of food (because it is on the pricier side) and exceptional service.
We stopped for lunch to check out the new location and have some of the award-winning chowder. The new location is stunning with the view of Lake Union full of yachts and motorboats. We love Dukes and now have a great new location.
The new location is really beautiful! We had a very nice and delicious dinner. The Sea Cod Fish Tacos are fabulous and not typical. Of course, the gingery salmon was also a huge hit.
Food was awesome. Service was not to the same caliber as the food or my past very positive experiences at Duke's.
Love the new location. Same good food and great service!
Love the menu, easy parking, and great happy hour@
We will be back!
There staff was friendly and helpful enough but that couldn't overcome the poor quality of the food. It was expensive and your average coffee shop would have done better. Perhaps this was because they were just a few days from closing for renovations they had a substitute chef who had no experience. But we will never go back there again, at least not if we're paying for it!
Duke's has delicious seafood and cares about sustainability. The menu items are creative with many different flavors created for each season. I go to Duke's for work as well as special occasions for my family. Highly recommend it,
Best crab cakes I’ve ever had! Lobster chowder delicious and waitress gave us the recipe and let us see the owners cookbook!
Was pricey for lunch but WORTH it!! Highly recommend! Being on the waterfront was a treat also!!
Great waiter, wish I could remember his name. As usual, the food was great too!
Our daughters birthdays.
Delicious food! Nice ambiance - right on the lakeside
Everything was awesome. So glad we found this place. Loved the chowder flight options.
Old friends re connecting
Bib lettuce salad was tasty. Get the small bowl of chowder, the dingy size is link a shot glass :)
Was very hard to find the actual restaurant but so glad we did. Our server was great and very attentive. Had the cucumber mojito which was so good. We split the crab cake & the corn salad. It was fabulous!! I had cod fish n chips , it came with that delicious corn salad. My husband had the hazelnut crusted halibut and he loved it. For dessert we shared the Marion berry pie that was served warm with wonderful vanilla ice cream. Loved the atmosphere and the service could not have been better! Recommend highly!!! Lovely view on the water too.
My favorite restaurant to go to is Dukes on Lake Union!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!! They have the Best fish & chips. 😊
