Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Lake Union
Would absolutely recommend Duke's. Although, they have gotten a little pricier! However, the wait staff, especially last Sunday was superb! and the meal delicious.
you need to ask for the happy hour menu where you can save a little bit on the appetizers but it adds up especially if you're doing a bunch of small plates. I tried the Dungeness deviled eggs as well as the shrimp and scallop with bacon which was my favorite as well as the crab cake which was very good and then the Dungeness and shrimp cocktail. I would suggest using some butter or if you get the sauteed shrimp and scallop to dip it in that because the cocktail sauce is way too strong for the Dungeness. same holds true on the deviled egg you don't taste the Dungeness because of the other flavors so on the second when I ordered I didn't keep it on the egg.
Our out of town guests were impressed with Dukes and enjoyed their meals. A nice warm bowl of clam chowder was perfect on a cold, rainy evening. We were all in Awh of my husbands gigantic Barbecue blue cheese burger. He was doing a happy dance! We shall return😊
Absolutely delicious! Love it! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great seafood
While the ambiance of the restaurant was nice the food was not. Salmon was way over cooked. Pricing is too high. We went to a fine dining restaurant the night before in the Pikes Place market area and the pricing was so much better and the food 100x better.
Having dinner with friends we hadn’t seen in 15 years
Great service and the food was excellent quality, fresh, and very well prepared. However, it seems like Duke's prices have gone up significantly over the last couple of years. Duke's used to be a good value when compared to its next-door-neighbor restaurant, Chandlers Crab House (which WAS next door until it closed recently). Since Duke's has become a more "pricey" option, I'll likely choose Duke's only "occasionally" instead of "frequently".
Great food, fast service considering it was busy and everything was delicious! The copper river salmon bites were amazing!
I believe the menu prices are higher at this Dukes due to the location. Food is always good except this time, I tried the fish and chips. I know my box of fish sticks I bought at the grocery had more flavor. Most defiantly not worth the $28.00. Everything else was awesome.
Awesome service and great food, as usual. We’ve never had a bad experience at Dukes on Lake Union.
Love the food, Love the location, and Love the staff.
Lunch is always perfect.
Great restaurant (pub style), great location, great food - nothing more I can say. Will most definitely return.
Obviously it was on the higher end of the spectrum in the price category. But, the food is top notch and the setting is really nice.
We had a beautiful view for our early New Year Eve dinner. The service was very good, and the food was mostly really good. I had the combo plate that had crab cake, scallops and shrimp, and my only disappointment was that the scallops were very overdone, to the point where I could hardly chew them. Everything was flavorful though and we loved the sauces! ( I didn't mention the overcooked scallops at the time because they were so busy and we were informed when we were seated that because it was New Years Eve and had a lot of reservations, we need to vacate our table in 1 hr. 15 min! )
Great food, amazing service, and outstanding view at anytime of the day!
Great chowder and good food
Great variety of seafood selections that taste fresh and authentic. It gets super busy during the weekends, so make sure to reserve your table before going in there. Service needs some improvement as servers are usually busy at first and hard to find but then they continuously come check on you towards the end of the meal to give you that check (and perhaps rush you out?). If it wasn't for that, it would be 5 stars (I have visited multiple times).
Loud and the service wasn’t that great
I like Duke's foods and services. Pretty consistent throughout the different stores.
Duke’s is tasty, right on the water, and has incredible service every time, no matter the time. For me, it is certainly an occasional meal because of it’s higher than average price. However, I know I will get great food and great service when I indulge.
For an extra $7 I was given .75 cents of scallops and prawns without any tasty sauce along with delicious sparribs. I think the sparribs alone were about $22.
I LOVE Dukes!! It is a favorite restaurant among my family. Not only is the food really great quality, there are plenty of options to meet all the diverse needs each of us have. From vegetarian to paleo or gluten free, it's healthy so there isn't guilt while enjoying your meal. There is something for everyone here! The Unchopped seafood salad is my usual go to with a couple delicious, fresh squeezed grapefruit nirvanas from the bar. The crab cakes are more crab than cake. The staff is friendly, efficient and make your visit comfortable and fun. I always get an email on my birthday inviting me for a free meal so that's always a bonus :) I turn 50 next week so I will be going there to take Duke up on that! Thanks Duke!
Always an amazing experience with awesome service.
Unique Salmon recipe with goat cheese and blueberries. It was out of this world! The stuffed Halibut was cooked perfectly and was an example of how seafood should taste!
Wish we could have had a longer stay in Seattle just to go back to this wonderful restaurant. Best crab cakes ever. Nice people. Delicious chowder. Highly recommended.
Good atmosphere, by the water. They had oldies music playing.
when the weather is good definitely will seat outside.
The clam chowder was outstanding, and it better be if it's in the name of the restaurant. Don't miss it! Good selection of bar food, sandwiches and entrees in a causal atmosphere. The service was great and while they don't validate parking the manager gave us a generous discount card for our next visit.
Amazing seafood, authentic and local feel. Fantastic service always. Highly recommend!
Booked a reservation for my family and friends when my sister was in town. Food was fabulous but the service was struggle city. We waited in a line to talk to the hostess, the line did not seem to be moving, when we finally cut the line to ask about our reservation we found out that the line was actually just people waiting for a table without a reservation. Not well organized. The servers seemed frazzled all night but the great conversation and delicious food made up for it!
We visited Duke's for our last meal during our recent vacation to Seattle. The salmon au gratin and the stuffed halibut were fabulous! So was the crab 'un' cake, and the pier pie. We loved the restaurant and most certainly will come back the next trip we take to Seattle!
Food was amazing. Ambiance was cozy quaint but a little dirty and there always seem to be a few flies. Service was good but would recommend that if the table is drinking water to perhaps leave a carafe or two on the table so that glasses dont go dry causing guests to look for servers to bring water. Again though, amazing food and they are able to accommodate a great number of allergies and dietary restrictions. Thank you.
The Clam Chowder at Duke's is awesome. We all had some and everyone thought it was the best they had ever eaten. The Halibut (with chips) was overcooked - making the fish very dry. The panko breading was nice - but Duke's needs to pay more attention to how long they cook the fish. My wife had the Salmon which undercooked. Wow - talk about inconsistency. The Bloody Mary's were very good so kudo's to the bartender. Our server was very good - prompt and perfectly attentive. Duke's sits on the waterfront so we had a good view of Lake Union and could watch the tour planes take off and land.
Great food and ambiance, bet the view is amazing in the daytime!
Great experience. Our waiter Trey was awesome! Delicious food...plenty in the serving.
The food was good and the service very personal and responsive to our needs. Our disappointment is that parking is so expensive and not reimbursed by the restaurant. I understand the high cost of land; but it really will make a difference in our decision to return to the restaurant when we have other good choices that do not impose that cost.
We arrived early. It was not yet busy and the floor was dirty.Everything else was good.
Delicious food and excellent service!
Very friendly staff, great service, food and drinks. Lots of alternatives for food sensitivities and allergies. Kid friendly, right on the water, fun place for family dinners or dates nights etc.
Was recommended by a friend. Took husband there for birthday. Food/drinks were amazing. Ordered chowder sampler. Every chowder was fantastic. Halibut fish & chips was excellent. Will go again when in Seattle.
Too expensive, too cold and too loud,, good seafood
