Duke's Seafood & Chowder - Lake Union
Great food, good service, wonderful views and good value. Never disppointed.
Dukes on Lake Union is difficult to find, but we'll worth the search.
We always make it a point to dine at Duke's - Lake Union when we are in Seattle. Great food, staff and ambience.
Recommended to us by Tom at The Maxwell Hotel on Roy St. It did not disappoint. Huge menu with great fish options. We tried the salmon with blueberry & goat cheese for our entree. Really unique combination of flavors. Salmon sliders for an app were memorable, too.
The quality of food and service was outstanding. The appearance was very nice and the flavors all mixed well. Only negative was that the tables are very close together so the noise level is a bit high. Beautiful views.
I love the food at Dukes and the service is always good! While we were eating lunch yesterday, one of the servers accidentally dropped some drinking glasses by our table and the glass shards flew over our food and seats, and cut a small slice in my arm. They were very apologetic and attentive about getting me a bandaid, moving us to a new table and replacing our food. They bought us lunch for the inconvenience. :-) That was worth 4 stars. If they wanted to go above and beyond, a gift card for another meal would have been nice, considering that the flying glass actually sliced me. ;-)
Dinner was great. Really enjoyed the soup. Everyone was efficient
Place was not very clean. We arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon and the place desperately needed vacuuming. Food was ok but nothing special. Expected higher quality overall for the price and location.
Awesome Restaurant only downfall is the parking but don’t let that stop you from going.
Good food but very very loud. Portions fairly small for prices.
Great view, service and selection. Something for everyone!
Get the crab cake and the oh my cod! Both amazing! Dessert was really good too, got some chocolate vanilla ice cream thing. Will definitely be coming again!
Our waiter was absolutely awesome! And food was great. I had the burger with sweet potato fries, everything about it was perfect and delicious. Two friends had salmon and said it was amazing. Always a good experience at Dukes.
Great Seattle experience and just what we were looking for to end our trip!
Best chowders ever! I was really looking forward to the crabcakes...it was excellent. The service was amazing!
Excellent meal - quality and service first rate.
Enjoyed everything from start to finish. Seating is a little tight but not enough to not enjoy everything!!
Our soup didn’t come out when it was expected, but life in a restaurant isn’t always perfect. It was how they handled it that gets them 5 Stars in my book. Food, ambiance, service, was all top notch. Good job Duke’s.
love Dukes but it was awfully tight squeeze between tables....
We're from out of town and this was our first time at Duke's. It really was wonderful. It checked all the boxes for what we wanted to experience from a true seafood restaurant. The location and ambiance were terrific, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars in the food category was because I had ordered a seafood salad and was convinced by the server to order the crab salad and unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by it. I didn't read the menu description before I okayed it and it was not what my taste buds were expecting. It was good though and I ate the whole thing. I didn't say anything to the server about it. The other entrees at our table were truly delicious; the cioppino, a whitefish special, and the vegan chowder in a bread bowl. The sourdough bread is fantastic too. It is a little spendy for a family, but all in all it was a great dining experience and I would definitely go back to Duke's.
This is the way seafood should be done! The quality and flavors were outstanding! Even though there are sauces and seasoning the seafood freshness and flavor comes through and is showcased.
We are hooked and will definitely be coming back!!
Would absolutely recommend Duke's. Although, they have gotten a little pricier! However, the wait staff, especially last Sunday was superb! and the meal delicious.
you need to ask for the happy hour menu where you can save a little bit on the appetizers but it adds up especially if you're doing a bunch of small plates. I tried the Dungeness deviled eggs as well as the shrimp and scallop with bacon which was my favorite as well as the crab cake which was very good and then the Dungeness and shrimp cocktail. I would suggest using some butter or if you get the sauteed shrimp and scallop to dip it in that because the cocktail sauce is way too strong for the Dungeness. same holds true on the deviled egg you don't taste the Dungeness because of the other flavors so on the second when I ordered I didn't keep it on the egg.
Our out of town guests were impressed with Dukes and enjoyed their meals. A nice warm bowl of clam chowder was perfect on a cold, rainy evening. We were all in Awh of my husbands gigantic Barbecue blue cheese burger. He was doing a happy dance! We shall return😊
Absolutely delicious! Love it! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great seafood
While the ambiance of the restaurant was nice the food was not. Salmon was way over cooked. Pricing is too high. We went to a fine dining restaurant the night before in the Pikes Place market area and the pricing was so much better and the food 100x better.
Having dinner with friends we hadn’t seen in 15 years
Great service and the food was excellent quality, fresh, and very well prepared. However, it seems like Duke's prices have gone up significantly over the last couple of years. Duke's used to be a good value when compared to its next-door-neighbor restaurant, Chandlers Crab House (which WAS next door until it closed recently). Since Duke's has become a more "pricey" option, I'll likely choose Duke's only "occasionally" instead of "frequently".
Great food, fast service considering it was busy and everything was delicious! The copper river salmon bites were amazing!
I believe the menu prices are higher at this Dukes due to the location. Food is always good except this time, I tried the fish and chips. I know my box of fish sticks I bought at the grocery had more flavor. Most defiantly not worth the $28.00. Everything else was awesome.
Awesome service and great food, as usual. We’ve never had a bad experience at Dukes on Lake Union.
Love the food, Love the location, and Love the staff.
Lunch is always perfect.
Great restaurant (pub style), great location, great food - nothing more I can say. Will most definitely return.
Obviously it was on the higher end of the spectrum in the price category. But, the food is top notch and the setting is really nice.
We had a beautiful view for our early New Year Eve dinner. The service was very good, and the food was mostly really good. I had the combo plate that had crab cake, scallops and shrimp, and my only disappointment was that the scallops were very overdone, to the point where I could hardly chew them. Everything was flavorful though and we loved the sauces! ( I didn't mention the overcooked scallops at the time because they were so busy and we were informed when we were seated that because it was New Years Eve and had a lot of reservations, we need to vacate our table in 1 hr. 15 min! )
Great food, amazing service, and outstanding view at anytime of the day!
Great chowder and good food
Great variety of seafood selections that taste fresh and authentic. It gets super busy during the weekends, so make sure to reserve your table before going in there. Service needs some improvement as servers are usually busy at first and hard to find but then they continuously come check on you towards the end of the meal to give you that check (and perhaps rush you out?). If it wasn't for that, it would be 5 stars (I have visited multiple times).
Loud and the service wasn’t that great
