Duke's Beach House Maui
First not on family vacation. Exactly what we wanted!
Excellent service. Very knowledgeable. Friendly. Our order was missed placing for something else on 2 orders. Manager came to apologize which was nice. Others had to start eating before ours came. Came somewhat quickly but should have been comped a dessert or after dinner drink. Beautiful venue.
Sat by host stand. Kids Mac and cheese did not come with meal. Maybe 5 minutes later. Loved the Maui onion soup and coconut shrimp. Rice was cold on banana leaf fish and shrimp. Dessert was excellent. Wait for check at the end.
You can’t beat the view and the staff is always friendly and accommodating to guests. We booked three resi’s for our trip. Don’t miss the hula pie!
It’s a nice place with great view to the ocean and hotel ground. Food was delicious. I had never had drive rice on my breakfast, however, I decide to try it and it was amazing. It was my husbands birthday and they brought him a cake with a candle. Food was fast, overall good service.
Great food, friendly and efficient staff, great waterfront location. I cannot ask for more except it was pretty expensive.
Food was good- especially the hula pie, but service was VERY slow
Food and view were amazing. Service could have been better.
We were seated at 6:15, exactly for our reservation time. Aaron was our waiter. He was a little slow from the start, but got most of what we wanted at his own pace.
Food was delicious and better than Hula Grill, a sister restaurant.
Sam was a great host. Very friendly, professional, and accomodating.
This was our first visit to Duke's, and we were amazed. It was a fabulous dining experience. Super Yummy!
Great service, great food!!
The view can not be beat especially at sunset. The food was amazing and our server Katie was perfect. Would highly recommend. It’s pricey, but everything is
Our first experience at Dukes was in Nawiliwili in Kauai and we loved it. The food, the atmosphere, the location. So we have since recommended Dukes to friends that have traveled to Hawaii and they have had rave reviews also. This was our first time at Dukes in Maui and we enjoyed it very much. The manager made a point of coming to our table and welcomed us and the staff were all very nice and knowledgeable. It was my husband's birthday, and they gave him a complimentary, delicious dessert big enough for the both of us. If we ever find ourselves in Maui again, we would definitely return!
Had a very enjoyable evening and felt well looked after by our server. We requested to change tables on arrival as it was an extremely hot evening and we wanted to catch what little breeze their was. This request was accommodated without fuss and we were grateful to be moved. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, able to answer any questions on the menu and explain the dishes to us. The food was delicious - two of us had fish and our daughter had a salad. Portions are the perfect size - not too large and reasonably priced for the location. Dukes deserves its reputation! We would recommend to others and would definitely consider returning.
Overall service was poor, he didn’t really explain anything on the menu. I could hear the adjacent server who was passionate about her job, our guy wasn’t.
Great food and wonderful service.
Beat breakfast in Maui so far. Dukes eggs Benedict were the best. LocoMoco was huge and delicious. The views are also wonderful.
Great place to end a vacation and celebrate a birthday
21st Birthday Celebration! Hula Pie was delicious for dessert🍰
Service was outstanding.
14 oz New York steak was unreal.
Coconut shrimp appetizer and my wife’s entree fish were both a bit overdone.
Of course the Hula Pie was the best ever!!
Disappointing, we frequent most of the T+S Enterprise locations quite a bit and look forward to counting on great food and locations. Experience started good and even sat 15 minutes earlier that our 8:15pm rezzies. Was seated right next to the kitchen door which we heard throughout our dinner. Was so looking forward to the Duke Mai Tai but ended up getting what looked and tasted like a watered down ice tea. The 4 of us ordered fish dinners and one of them was so over cooked that it tasted like chalk and was not edible. Most of our dishes were very salty but the lobster my son got was good. We were so looking forward to getting the Hula ice cream pie for desert but cut our losses and bought a 1/2 gallon of Dreyers on the way home and got waffle bowls instead :). On the way out I used the rest rooms that had toilet and hand towels all over the floor. Won’t be returning to Duke’s in Maui.
Food is not very good. Nearly $50 for a steak and they did not cook it properly, it was charred on the outside and left raw with un rendered fat in the thicker part of the steak. Seafood risotto had good flavor but was very wet and soupy not tight the way a risotto should be. You’re paying for ambiance.
Over priced !!!!! Fish ordered was tough and dry and expensive.... we gave gone consistently for the past 8 years and this was it. We will try something else !!!
It’s Maui.... everything is over priced .. but this time the recommendation of the fish we eat was pretty bad .
This was a great choice for our last night in Maui. We'll definitely be back next trip.
Server and food was fantastic, but service was very slow. Salads came out before the appetizers, then a long wait for entrees.
Duke's was amazing, as always. The food is delicious, the staff is so nice and the setting is beautiful!
On the water, great seafood, great service, music, sunsets simply worth it
great place but super busy, pina coladas were territic and sunset was amazing
Fantastic! We love Dukes!
We went for breakfast! We had been before and it was spectacular! Our service was amazing and so was the food! This time we brought friends! We had reservations and were there a tad late but they were ready for us! Our friends couldn’t find the place so they were about 15 minutes late. But they said it was no big deal. The reason I knocked them down a few stars was our waiter, Scott. He started out telling us he had multiple things going on so he’d be with us in a little bit. Ok, cool man! When he finally came to take our drink order, He hardly ever made eye contact. When the food came to the table, we were missing our kids’ fruit plate so I asked about it. He rudely responded that it would be coming in a little bit. It did come, just about 15 minutes into our meal. When the check came, we asked if the check could be split between the two families. At first he told us that he was unable to do this. He acted like this was a major ordeal, basically told us it was our fault for not mentioning this to him at the beginning of the meal and that he had too much going on to do this and if we really wanted him to do this that it would be a long wait and reiterated that he had so much to do. I think there were maybe a total of 10 tables being served in the restaurant during this time that morning and multiple waiters. It took him a good 15-20 mins to split the checks and get them back to us. When he came by to put them on our table he rolled his eyes and said “I don’t know whose is whose, so you guys can figure it out.” And just walked off. Then when he came back by he was just as rude acting as if we were a major inconvenience for him and that we created such a problem just by asking to have our checks split. Of course the tip was already included!... if it hadn’t been he would have gotten NOTHING... and I generally tip 18% or more depending on service, stack plates for them and pick up around my kids’ seats for them. The good food and views made up for rude service.
Starters were good. Mains were essentially home cooking. 140 for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 beers. Avoid.
Most of the main dishes were not good. Fish and shrimp cooked in a banana leaf was way too salty. Tiny piece of fish covered by 3 shrimp and couldn’t taste anything because of the soy sauce. Ribs were not cooked enough and had to ask for a steak knife to try to get the meat off the bones, very chewy. Ahi Tina had so much spice in it you couldn’t tasted the fish (and my husband likes spice!). Vegetables were supposed to be roasted but were hard and raw, cauliflower had no color and was raw. We complained but were brought some broccoli instead. No mention of taking anything off the bill. The menu standing up on the table fell over and knocked over my daughters drink before she had even taken a drink. They replaced it but charged us for both. Thought they might of at least comped the spilt one even if it was an accident. Overpriced, poor quality food. Big disappointment to our last night in vacation in Maui
We went to Dukes in Kaanapali to celebrate our 32 wedding anniversary and the staff could not have been friendlier. We arrived at 7:00 pm to watch the sunset and were not disappointed by the view. The restaurant sits right on the beach and the tables seemed to all have nice views. We set in a booth enjoying a more private dinner and our waitress was awesome. We ordered a few cocktails to enjoy before dinner and they were tasty. The coconut shrimp appetizer was good, as well as our salad and Maui onion soup. The only criticism would be that main courses (seafood risotto and local fish in banana leaf) were just not as good as we would have have expected, hence I would rate the food a little lower than everything else. The Hula pie made up for it, so overall it was a wonderful evening.
Excellent food, great wait staff, beautiful view and setting for the restaurant.
Great food. Amazing views. Nice quiet beachside atmosphere.
After waiting almost two hours we had a beer, a drink and a salad. During those two hours our waiter came around about three times total. It was a miserable experience and we finally got up and left. Even worse we went there to celebrate a birthday and they knew it. There are far better places to visit.
We love Duke's, the food is delicious and the atmosphere and location are wonderful!
Food was excellent, service was great. The only drawback was the heat. We sat in the back of the restaurant because we had a large party. There were no ceiling fans and no breeze. We were melting as we were eating. Make sure you get a table under a ceiling fan or upfront outside to catch the breeze.
The food was delicious and the service was great! We have come a few times and we have had a great experience with each time we’ve come.
