Everything was great but the music was really loud, and my parents are hard of hearing and I felt like we had to shout most of the time. So, if they could lower the music especially when it’s busy, then everything would be perfect
Food and service was outstanding. The chicken and biscuits are hands down the best in the area. We will be back to Due South!
Great service and great food.
The spicy black bean chili is AWESOME and the wings are absolutely DELICIOUS!
The service was great. The food was excellent. Will visit again.
Food was mediocre. Specifically stated we were celebrating my partners birthday and we seated next to an obnoxiously loud table.
Hostess took several minutes to look up from her phone to seat us. Over 20 minutes to get our drink order taken. Server forgot to put our appetizer order in.
Wouldn't go back or recommend
We had a great experience. Loved the unlimited mimosas!
Amazing for a date. Such a beautiful area!
First time there. It was great. Excellent service!!!!
This was my second visit to Due South and it was another great meal. We brought out of town guests and they were really impressed. Can't wait to return!
Maggie was a gem. She was attentive, kind and very knowledgeable without being overbearing.
A friend and I met here for brunch! I just so happen to not have a huge appetite once we arrived and ordered the chicken biscuit under the small bites section (or something similar) and a side of home fries. The perfect pairing; biscuit was a good size and was very filling. My friend and I actually both ordered the same thing and we were satisfied. Aesthetic of the restaurant was also good.
Met a friend here for dinner. The ambiance is nice and the staff and service was great. The food came quickly and was delicious.
The Due South food is consistently outstanding, simply delicious, we have never been disappointed in the quality of the food or the service here. Excellent management team and staff.
The grits had no taste, should be improved on. Prices are good. Greeter (at front) should smile and was cold and distant, as though she was working under duress.
Good food and good service. Zero complaints. Our waiter (Jake, I believe) was fast with the mimosa refills.
Great southern food. Ribs were a standout. Cool Location.
The food was OK, but we had 2 "complaints". (1) There were no gluten-free options (we had 3 folks with celiac disease, not trying to be trendy) for beer and few for food (i.e., no option for BBQ or burgers on GF buns). (2) Waiter brought BBQ to table and spilled the entire cup of sauce on my wife and me. We cleaned up as best we could, but were surprised that there was no modification of the bill to try to compensate for our inconvenience/discomfort.
This was our 4th/5th visit and always outstanding. Our server was pleasant and outgoing. The food was wonderful, crawfish appetizer was very good, shrimp and grits also very good. Brisket was oustanding.
Jake’s first day but you couldn’t tell! He was awesome.
Very good comfort food after way too much hotel food. I would go again the next time I’m in town.
Perfect afternoon dining al fresco. Enjoyed the food and special brew choices. Noise level was a bit higher than others offering similar faire.
Food was excellent and so was the service. Only complaint was that the air conditioner over the booth section was in way too high for it being a rainy Saturday in September.
Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the drinks available when we asked what the Due South IPA was - she said the Goose Island IPA but knew nothing more. She also made no effort to find out anything further. On the other hand, the food was absolutely fantastic. Will probably return due to the food alone.
Burger was raw, but quickly fixed and offered a free beer for the trouble. Food was great after that small blip.
we found Due South on Open Table via geo search. The food was very tasty, many options and everyone enjoyed their entree. We also had two appetizers which we really enjoyed as well.
Very happy with our pre-DC United game meal. Food was well prepared, portions were nice sized. Many varied selections to choose from. We had the rib platter, chicken platter, trout and veg cake. Sides on all entrees were very good. No complaints. One of the more affordable options in the area. Recommended for families.
Not exactly waterfront but close to the water and Nats Stadium. Good for pregame meal. Enjoyed the food and our server (Lea?) was very good.
The wait staff does a disappearing act that would make David Copperfield jealous.
The restaurant would be great if they worked on the menu. For example, I had the shrimp and grits. It had shrimp, grits, whole cherry tomatoes, andouille sausage, and other veggies; too much “stuff “ that took away from the dish; It’s shrimp and grits, those items are the star of the dish; if the other items must be added, make them the supporting flavors by making their size smaller, and less of them. Make a creamy beschmel sauce or a lighter sauce to accompany the dish. A creamy flavorful sauce would mean less Old Bay on the shrimp. And from a gal who came from a southern household, I don’t know what kind of grits was in the dish, but it was soupy and grainy...not creamy and firm. I’ll try this place one more time and try another dish....
Would recommend because convenient to stadium for Nationals game. Food was good, drinks enjoyable.
Nice atmosphere pre-game and seemed excellent for groups. Menu comfortable -moderately creative- not boring.
A group of us met for dinner before a Nats game
Nice place, good location, and good service. But the food is wanting. We ordered burger, brisket, and hair loom tomato salad. All tasteless, really. Very surprising. Too many toppings on burger left me wondering how the meat tastes. Brisket looked and tasted bland. Tomatoes were average and burrata bland.
Nice place - good food and beer and the service was friendly and efficient.
Service is great and food consistently good. It's one of my go to places in the Navy Yard area.
I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the food and the view.
Enjoyed Due South and would definitely go back. A friend had the 1/2 chicken and I opted for the 1/2 ribs - both were outstanding. Service was great. Ambiance is relaxed with a hip vibe, and I saw patrons in shorts, jeans, and suits all enjoying themselves. Prices are good, which is rare in a town that has a lot of restaurants serving mediocre food at high prices. They seem to have a meat orientation to their dishes; the vegetarian options are mainly salads; so if you have vegetarians in your group you may want to have them take a look at the menu online. Highly recommended!
Brunch was fantastic. Esp the chicken biscuit and bloody Mary
Another great meal at what is quickly becoming my favorite pre-game location. Great food, excellent service and a lovely walk to the ballpark. So great to see the growth in the neighborhood. Looking forward to our next visit to Due South!
