Bring your friends, meet new ones, celebrate life through great food, wine and entertaining conversation. We look forward to seeing you!
The food was fantastic and our server knowledgeable and on point.
Awesome. Affordable. But a bit loud. And yet so worth it. Delicious. Friendly. Authentic. We will be back soon! Ciao!
very small portions, everything is extra (cost $5 just to get bread on the table, and a second iced tea cost $4). Food was good, not great. Place was mostly empty tables at 6:30 on a Friday night.
This a favorite neighborhood gem that I need to visit more often. The food is excellent. This visit we had the fritto to start...perfection. I had the short ribs and my parents the meatballs and pork chop. My drink of gin, blueberry, lemon and basil was glass of springtime on a wintry day. The pear dessert was a delightful ending to another fabulous due lire meal.
Delicious food, high quality house made pasta
The food was very good and service warm and friendly. It’s a very warm, cozy spot.
This is my most favorite restaurant in the city.
We just love this place
Food was delicious, sever was kind and knowledgeable, kitchen was able to accommodate allergy restrictions and atmosphere was intimate.
We dined here on a Friday night. The menu was relatively limited considering this is an Italian restaurant. The pasta dishes were quite good. Unfortunately my wife didn’t find anything on the menu that she wanted to eat so had a couple of sides. There was only a fish of the day that was white fish which she didn’t want. The desserts were excellent, however.
This was our second time here and it was as good, or better, than the first time. The service is gracious and the food is outstanding, as well as reasonably priced. The wine list has great choices and is also reasonable. We ate here before a show at the Old Town School down the street. If we lived in the area, we'd be regulars. We look forward to our next meal.
It was a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday!
Really good food. Good service. Way too noisy in restaurant. Need some sound dampening material. It was painful. Most of that was due to one particular customer who just yelled the whole time we were there but was not enjoyable ambiance. Also could not believe a glass of tea was $4 with no refills. At least tell people that. $12 for 3 glasses on bill is ridiculous.
I love the Italian food here; it never disappoints; from the fresh mozzarella and barata to the house-made pastas and sauces. The service is always friendly and warm.
The room is nice but the noise level is almost unbearable. Each time I've been customers are screaming to be heard - I complained but perhaps nothing can be done.
We had a delicious meal...fish, pasta and risotto accompanied by a lovely white wine. Our service was excellent. Due Lire is a favorite for us and we highly recommend it.
It was busy on a Friday night. It was a little loud and service was a little slow, but our runner/busser was awesome, helping with drinks all night. However, the food and cocktails were amazing!! Totally worth the sound level. The gnocchi is to die for.
We go here more than any other place in the area. It's just that good.
tldr: Very good, thoughtful food. Cozy ambiance. Attentive service.
I agree with previous reviews that state that this place feels like being in a family home, which can be both good and bad. When we first walked in it was incredibly loud, but our reservation was later (7:30) and it quickly died down.
I chose this for my husband's 35th birthday. I had mentioned that when I made the reservation and throughout the dinner multiple people came by to wish my husband a happy birthday. They even included a candle in one of the desserts.
I had one of the specials, which was lamb chops, mashed cauliflower, and grilled asparagus. I had zero hopes that I would find a paleo-friendly option at an Italian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. It was superb.
Great Food!! Great neighborhood! Highly recommend!
I went on a Saturday evening for a date night dinner. The dining room is small, cozy, romantic. The decor is very nice and the subdued lighting was just right. Every table has a candle and a flower. I had the duck on polenta and my girlfriend had Atlantic Char, dishes were extremely good. We had fried artichokes as the side and they were great. This is a neighborhood gem and great for date nights.
Loved feeling as if we were in a home kitchen. Everyone there is truly passionate about what they offer and a joy to dine with.
Due Lira is always good!! The food is creative and carefully prepared, showing the love and commitment of the owner and chef. It is a treasure in Lincoln Square.
great neighborhood gem with lots of home made pastas and meats. We recommend the meatballs, the ravioli and the gnocchi.
Thank you Patrick and Adrian for wonderful service. Thank you to the chefs, I enjoyed the duck breast and polenta. Finally, thank you to Mossimo for creating a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal.
Excellent fare. Very attentive service. Especially like that it's fairly quiet.
This is a delightful spot for delicious food and excellent service. Everyone in our party loved their dishes, and we all ordered very different things. We definitely will return to this cozy, tasty eatery.
Fantastic experience overall. Restaurant Week pre fixe menu was OUTSTANDING. Drinks were so well crafted.
Small room got loud at times. The service was excellent and the food was good. We did not have time to stay long and the staff was accommodating. Would recommend.
I felt like I was in someone’s home eating a great meal. The entire experience was great.
A favorite restaurant in lincoln square. Always a great meal
Delicious food —homemade pastas, meatballs, sauce and great apps. Always a good choice!
The food was amazing- our server Kevin and the owner are both so kind. We will definitely be back!
I have been to Due Lire. 3x now, and finally got to meet the owner , Massimo Di Volo, from Puglia. He was so personable, and down to earth...always at the restaurant which is a sign of a smart restaurant owner. The chef creates exquisitely prepared dishes, and the food has so many different levels of flavor. I had the Arctic Char with farro, that was outstanding!
I will be back again, and again...A cozy bistro feel. The food, ambiance, and service all exceptional! I didn't catch my server's name she was a beautiful Asian girl, that was so kind, and gracious!
I will return to Due Lire again, and again. I also learned that they also have a patio in the back for warmer months! Thank you for making my birthday dinner outstanding Massimo, and staff!
Due Lire is our family's favorite neighborhood spot. My children request it for birthdays. It's Restaurant Week, so we had to go for Massimo's lasagna, delicious! You can't go wrong with any dish.
This place is Italian but not ordinary Italian. It has short rib ravioli and fried artichokes and duck breast, all very, very good. Ambience is warm, welcoming and cozy; staff real people not chirpy little mannequins; cocktails with a kick! Like going on a little vacation.
We love this restaurant! The pasta tastes so fresh and cooked to perfection! The owner and staff are all so friendly and made us feel well cared for and special. We went for a family birthday and also on a regular Saturday night. Can’t wait to go back again soon.
Do yourself a favor and get the gnocchi! Best ever
Nice low lights, knowledgeable servers, good food!
Fantastic neighborhood spot with authentic Italian fare. Never disappoints!
