Due Amici Ratings and Reviews
The customer service was excellent. A group of girlfriends and I were there last night and unfortunately two of us accidentally left our take home containers behind. Upon realizing this, we called Due Amici before walking all the way back. Unfortunately they had thrown away our containers (a bit too soon after us leaving in my opinion), so we were disappointed. I had personally only taken two bites of my entree, as I had filled up on apps and soup, so I was extremely frustrated about having paid for an entree I didn't get to enjoy. Undoubtedly, leaving the container behind was my mistake, but I spoke with the manager and she was gracious and generous enough to offer to remake my meal for pickup in the same evening. As I had already arrived at my after dinner event, I was unable to go pick it up, so she offered to mail me a $25 gift card instead. As annoyed as I was about the unfortunate turn of events, her generosity and effort to make it right really spoke volumes about the restaurant and her management. I've dined here many times and the food is great. Kudos to the staff and thanks for appeasing a frustrated and forgetful customer!
We sat at table for almost ten minutes before being services. Waiter did not know details of the menu, basic questions required him to leave and come back. Ambiance and location are great, food was good, hopefully just got an inexperienced server, would return
This was our first visit, 10 of us, 5 of whom had birthdays and all are picky eaters, with a mixture of meat eaters and vegetarians and food allergies. Satisfied all! Love the urban venue, high ceilings and comfortable seating as well. Desserts excellent too!
My husband and I had never eaten here before and invited friends for dinner before Ohio Theater so I was a little apprehensive. We were about 15 minutes late and they held our table, with a smile... Wonderful service (Alice) with drinks and food and beautiful interior. We have so many choices for Italian food but Due Amici is #1 for me!
This restaurant does not show up among the top results when searching for Italian cuisine in Columbus, but it is absolutely wonderful -- food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are spectacular, and it is located in close proximity to a variety of venues for entertainment before or after your dining experience. I would strongly recommend Due Amici to anyone interested in a delicious and enjoyable Italian dining experience.
We frequent Due Amici regularly alone or with friends for dining, drinks, and often before a show but not always. In all the years we have been dining here we have never been disappointed until this trip. The service was very slow and the restaurant was not packed, busy but not full. Our waiter was just ok. We had ample time to eat and get to our show but the waiter seemed to be annoyed with us that we wanted drinks first. He wanted our entire order at one time and we had not decided. We seemed rushed and there was no need. When my husband ordered a bourbon the waiter thought but wasn't sure the restaurant was out of it. He asked for 3 choices that my husband would be happy with and he would bring one of them back. Who does that? We ordered the mussel app of which they were very tiny in size and not a full order that we are used to. Over all this trip quite surprising and disappointing. We know Due Amici can do and is better. Very off night in service and food.
My wife and I went to Due Amici for Valentines Day. I wish we hadn't. Although the restaurant had not advertised so on the website, when I made the reservation, or when they called to confirm the reservation, the menu was extremely limited, and the set menus jacked up the prices. My wife has a medical issue that restricts the food she can eat. For example, the only appetizer that worked was the Caeser salad. After she ordered, the server came back to inform us that they had run out of that. The restaurant also ran out of bread. The server was constantly apologizing for his lack of experience and his only excuse for running out of food was that the chef was inexperienced and new. Needless to say, we won't be coming back here for special occasions again, and I plan on writing a review of the restaurant to warn others.
The food and service were phenomenal. Sometimes you go to restaurants and you feel you pay too much and the portions are small. That was not the case, me and my fiancé were very pleased with the portion size and we feel we got what we paid for. Thank you Due Amici, we'll be back!
I find the restaurant on open table and decided to give it a try. Parking was easy with the valet...$6 plus $4 dollar tip..(a 10). Our coats were checked with the hostess...$2. We were taken to our table immediately and our server Alice was extremely attentive and smiling and helpful for us to understand the Valentine menu...$45 pasta menu or $65 steak menu. My wife had some wine and our server brought us some very nice bread to dip in the peppered olive oil... Excellent! Our food arrived at the perfect time hot and delicious. Overall, a very nice and romantic venue for dinner for couples.
Arrived before our reservation time and we were able to be seated immediately. After receiving our bottle of wine and placing our order, our waitress seemed to be non-existent. She stopped by once to say she would bring us bread, which was 40 minutes after being seated. She arrived another 20 later with the bread. When our food arrived it was all wrong. A different server brought one dish of food. They had put both orders together in one plate. Another 10 minutes went by and we had to disturb a different server, since we never saw ours. They took the plate back and a few minutes later arrived with the correct dishes. The food was delicious. While the food tasted excellent, the service was just the opposite. My wife and I were hoping that this could be another great restaurant to add to our list of favorites, but we will likely not return due to the poor service.
This is the second time I have been here for brunch. It's terrible.--again. My quiche was runny in the middle and not fully cooked. My friend ordered the frittata and it was just frittata on the plate--horrible presentation. No toast, no fruit, no lettuce, etc. also, the bathrooms are FILTHY! Management needs to wake up.
Large group met for dinner before a show. Our waitress was exceptional and attentive. Unfortunately, having ordered, we learned that one entree was unavailable and so a substitution was delivered actually without even clearing it with us first. That was odd. The food itself was very good, and an adjustment was made to the bill for the mishap with the entree, even without request. We'll definitely go again.
We had a great time at dinner. We cut it a little close on time before a show, so we had to eat fast, but the service and the food were all fantastic. I will definitely be coming back when I have more time to really enjoy it! My only complaint is it was kinda loud, mainly because there is a lot of tables in the restaurant, so you are a little close to other tables, but other than that, it is a great place.
Our server was nice, though left us unattended upon our arrival for 15minutes, only after we requested service from the attention of another server. For the price our food was average. We had chicken Marsala and spaghetti with meatballs, I had one glass of wine and my husband had water. No appetizer or dessert: $54 without tip.
I went to dinner at Due Amicio with my boyfriend and friend. The restaurant is only a 7 minute walk from the downtown Sheraton, where we were staying (perfect!). Blendi was our server and he was lovely. He knew the menu well and offered excellent suggestions. The food was delicious. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer that is roasted in balsamic with bacon. I ordered the spaghetti with veal meatballs (I substituted linguini), my boyfriend had chicken parmesan and my friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli. We each had a glass of red wine and finished the evening with the chocolate brownie with berries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
