Dudley's on Short Ratings and Reviews
On New year's Eve you expect to pay more so we were quite satisfied with the price. We had a late sitting, the nose level was so bad that conversation was impossible but we understood that was out of Dudley's control. However they were out of some of the choices, so I chose the beef tenderloin which was excellent, but cold which did not impact the taste but DID impact the sauce, which was concealed, and the greens , made bitter and uneatable. My water did take it back to the kitchen but it returned in a very hot plate but the food was still cold.
Dudley's is one of our favorite places especially after a performance at the Opera House, but perhaps more attention needs to be given to special occasions.
Our servers were very good but obviously tired. The drinks came quickly, but he immediately wanted to place our dinner orders and never came back for second drink orders.
Food wasn’t great. We were really annoyed that my boyfriend and I split a steak and a pasta (both main courses) and without asking they split them each onto two plates and charged us $5 per split. We didn’t need them split apart and would rather have not paid the $10. We also still ordered 2 entrees.
Dudley's never disappoints! We went for brunch with our son and his fiancé for an early Xmas celebration. Our food and drinks were excellent. Loved the Eggs Benedict! Service was attentive without being invasive. The dining room was decorated beautifully for the season and we sat by the fireplace which was extra cozy.
The best dining experience I've had in in a very long time. In a world full of restaurants that all seem to be competing for space in the realm of hipster trendy, Dudley's does something that has become much more rare - quality. It's warm, traditional and comfortably elegant. Service, wine list, menu, preparation, presentation were all perfect. It's definitely not cheap, but it's a good value -- world-class at Lexington prices. Excellent.
I came to Dudley's for brunch. I like to think of Dudley's as the best brunch experience in Lexington- from their rotating quiche to a "build your own" bloody mary with house-infused pepper vodka as an option. However, it fell short yesterday. Server was slow to take our order, drinks were slow to come out. The bloody mary was completely botched. I ordered the BM with the pepper vodka and it was way too hot! Like you can't anything for the next 10 minutes hot. The server said she would "fix it" and brought me back a BM with regular vodka 15 minutes later, yet still charged me for the pepper vodka. Conversation with the server was just awkward. The whole experience was awkward. Luckily, the quiche was excellent and so was our smoked salmon "pie".
Although the ambiance and service were as great as always, the quality of the entrees was lacking. On of the beef filet medallions was okay, and the other overdone; upon redoing the overdone steak, the 2nd attempt came back severely rare. The chicken in the pasta was dry and the taste fairly uninspiring. However, the cocktails were quite good, the wine superb and dessert was delicious.
