Dudley's on Short
The service was a bit slow. The food had waited too long in the kitcheen before service and did not fully meet our expectations.
Excellent food and service, with the owner on the premises on a Sunday evening. The chef even specially prepared vegetarian dishes. Well done!
Possibly Lexington’s finest and most thematic restaurant!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and great service!
Dudley's always does a great job when I bring my granddaughter. She loves this place, especially the rooftop. Service is always great and the always changing bread selection is wonderful. The wilted Brussels Sprouts are my all time favorite dish.
Outstanding food and service. Truly delicious and warm, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Pretty good choice for lunch on our one day in town. Great location and cool ambience. However, 74 dollars for one sandwich, three drinks and a shared salad is a bit crazy.
One of my favorite restaurants - excellent service, terrific food, loyalty recognized, beautiful environment, extensive wine list. Highly recommend the TG salad, pasta Dudley’s, and s’mores dessert. The fries with dipping sauces (garlic aioli and green goddess) are extraordinary. The bread selections vary daily. Nice specials. Try the grilled romaine with flat-iron steak for lunch - delicious!
Wonderful experience. Friendly management and staff and their elegant building made for an enjoyable meal
One of our favorite places to eat in Lexington. Always good food, excellent service and lovely surroundings.
Wonderful food! Service was excellent! Highly recommend it!
Always a treat to dine at Dudley’s. We enjoyed one of the delicious daily luncheon specials. Service is always spot on! Especially loved being able to enjoy a leisurely meal. Dudley’s is one of our favorite spots!
Wonderful service and food! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent brunch menu selection and the staff is warm and welcoming!
Loved everything about Dudley's! In town for Derby weekend and wanted great food and great energy. Got both plus so much more. The artwork here is fabulous. The other guests were convivial. The food was excellent. It was a great way to start a memorable weekend! I will be back and that's a promise!
As always: exceptional service, food & ambiance. We were 10 mins early and had no wait on Derby night.
It was very first time in Lexington Ky.
Bcuz of Kentucky Derby, people recommended this restaurant, tried to book by open Table, only available at 8:30pm we took it, waited at cozy bar at upstair.
Bartender was super nice , met with very friendly Kentucky people. Even staff were very attentive to make sure our table during waiting time.
Food was wonderful, not too salty , well balanced flavor.
It was one of the superior experience.
Thank you Dudley’s on short
Great time celebrating our daughter’s graduation from UK....everything was just perfect, waiter/food/atmosphere/relaxed staff!!
get the house fries!! so so good. best i have ever had.
A perfect, bright spot to enjoy lunch in Lexington. Excellent service and a nice variety of sandwiches, salads and entrees on the menu. The flank steak salad was delicious, and do not skip the s'mores dessert with homemade marshmallow. Yum!
Wonderful food and service. Was a little loud and hard to hear our servers. Overall great atmosphere.
Derby guests! As usual Dudley’s was spectacular!!
Graduation lunch it was wonderful
The food and ambience are excellent; wonderful location; varied wide list!
The lady who served us water at the beginning was much better than the gentleman who was our waiter for the evening. He was not very attentive to our table, we felt ignored compared to nearby tables he was service.
The duck we ordered was cold, and was completely rare (as opposed to medium rare). We had to ask them to heat it up halfway through as it was not as good as expected, and arrived already cold! The endives were overgrown/harvested too late, hard to eat and not very soft. Not good quality. They were black - too grilled but uncooked. Difficult to even chew or swallow.
The pork steak was bland with no flavor. We think it was the meat that was not flavorful. The asparagus on multiple plates ordered were not satisfying, of good quality, or cooked well.
We came to celebrate a birthday, told the staff, and was told they would give us a little cake. We ordered the cake (I was expecting it to be a surprise for the birthday girl, instead of having to order it outright in front of her). But, ten minutes later the waiter came back asking if we had decided on desert, even though we had just told him ten minutes prior what we wanted.
It came out with multiple spoons for sharing (which was requested, no problem there), but we had expected a little candle or something. Instead, it felt less like a birthday celebration and more like three people deciding to split a single desert. The chocolate cake itself was okay. The frosting was supposed be an orange type of frosting, but had absolutely no flavor. The actual cake part was very good however.
We have been here in the past for brunch, which we found to be a 4 to 5 star experience both with service and food quality. It was too bad we decided on here for dinner, though. If we come back it will only be for brunch!
My meal was inedible it was so salty. Service was excellent. I explained to the manager how overly salty the entire meal was and that I didn’t want anything as compensation. I just want the chef to do better.
Beautiful atmosphere. Always great food and excellent service. Perfect for Sunday brunch.
We know that we will always get an excellent meal at Dudley’s. Brunch was delicious and the service is the best!
Sunday Brunch prior to matinee. First time visit. Outstanding!
You will never go wrong selecting Dudleys for an upscale outing. It’s a local favorite for refined dining.
Food quality was marginal. Chicken entree was dry. Halibut entree was tough and lacked flavor. I typically dine out 4 nights per week. Will not be going back to this restaurant.
Excellent all round; respected seating request. Dudley's is my favorite place to dine with close friends and family.
Great meal for Easter. Service and food were great.
We love having lunch or dinner at your lovely restaurant. It is first class, warm and friendly!
The ambiance is awesome! We felt like we had stepped back in time. My husband ordered a “hot brown”. It was yummy ~ It had a little different twist than an original (more cheesy) but it was still delicious. I ordered the ” Dudly Eggs”. (Deviled eggs) . They were good. Nice flavor made with Dijon mustard.
Great meal as expected. Classic meals mixed in with innovative choices.
Wife recommended but I was underwhelmed. Limited reservation option times on open table but restaurant actually half empty so booked earlier than planned for nothing. . Food was average at best.
Great atmosphere on the roof patio. Perfect service and and exquisite meal!
Lovely setting. Our waiter, Corey, was excellent. He and the kitchen were great in guiding and accommodating me in regard to gluten-free fare.
