Dubrovnik Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed a tasty seafood dinner experience. Our app was a grilled shrimp/calamari dish cooked to perfection. Our main courses were pasta with mussels/clams/shrimp in a red-broth sauce. It was light, tasty and plentiful; and, a traditional Croatian stuffed cabbage entre prepared and presented extremely perfecto. Our compliments to the waitstaff and chef for an enjoyable dinner experience.
5th time I've been here in last 2 years and it's consistently a great experience, much worth the 30 min drive. We had mussels, garden salad, bronzino, seafood pasta, all delicious. Croatian red and white were equally enjoyable. Staff very friendly, quick, attentive, particularly the host Nada, who stopped by twice to check on us.
If you enjoy seafood, esp. fresh calamari, octopus and simple grilled fresh fish, this is the place to be in Westchester. Their grilled calamari and grilled octopus are the best I’ve had in the US, comparable to the succulent ones I had in Spain. They have a wide selection of fresh whole fish best served by simple grilling. My husband and I shared a 2.5 lb snapper which they filet at our table side. Though the fish was slightly over cooked, it was very tasty with a nice flavor.
Took my mother there for a Friday evening dinner. The menu was very interesting, featuring lots of fresh seafood, so it won my attention on Yelp.
When the waiter first came by he brought a large ice chest of fish that we could order in various ways and appetizers. Some good theatre.
We went with marinated anchovies and octopus nonè style for starters. Cleaned the plates. Mom got a seafood pasta with a half lobster, and I went with the lamb stew. Two more cleaned plates. Dessert, a chocolate mousse and a crepe with ice cream and Nutella were also very much enjoyed and gone.
Everything was delicious, the service was impeccable and friendly. I would definitely recommend for birthdays, dates, and special occasions.
I've gone to this restaurant twice recently and my experience was consistent both times. In short, the service is impeccable, the appetizers and salads are great, but the main course leaves a lot to be desired, especially at that price. The first time I had the chicken, the second time I had the filet mignon (so did my brother). The chicken was dry, slightly overcooked. The filet mignon (both mine and my brother's) were not properly done (we both asked for "medium-well" and we got essentially "well-done") and the meat itself didn't feel like filet mignon. Their deserts are nice. At that price range, I expect food to be expertly prepared. Both times I was disappointed. The other issues are noise and parking. The place gets to be pretty loud for an exclusive restaurant. Street parking is impossible, but they do offer a nice valet service, which is free (only tips). I think this restaurant has a lot of potential, but they need to improve their quality before they get my recommendation and repeat business.
Once again, we had a wonderful meal and great time at Dubrovnik. The atmosphere and staff are warm and welcoming, the food is consistently delicious, and I feel like we are part of the family every time we dine here. While we couldn't snag an outdoor table this time, we highly recommend the back patio, which overlooks a lush garden of tomato plants and transports the diner from downtown New Rochelle to a fishing village on the Adriatic. Soon celebrating their 4th anniversary, Dubrovnik is a neighborhood favorite and we look forward to another visit soon.
Went there for dinner with high expectations based on great reviews and a recommendation from a friend. Had great appetizer of grilled calamari and grilled shrimp. Very fresh. But I was not impressed with the entrees. Portions are ridiculously huge (if you like big portions you will love this place). And they had live music but the volume was loud and it was difficult to have a conversation while they're playing. We couldn't wait for them to take a break!!
I may go back for the appetizers but definitely not a place I'd pick for a special occasion.
We were at Dubrovnik for the first time and we all loved it. We ate grilled fish and we were impressed that they showed us the fish prior to making our selection. We ate on the patio and felt like we were on vacation in Europe on the coast. We loved the food and the whole experience and plan to return. We already have recommended Dubrovnik to our family and now we recommend it to everyone else. Dubrovnik is a true dining pleasure.
The "Trip across the Mediterranean Sea" was wonderful! We had small plates from across the countries bordering the sea, including Spain, France, Croatia, and Greece. Each dish's preparation was explained before it was served. Ingredients were fresh, either from the restaurant's garden or near-by local farms. Presentations were lovely. Needless to say, all the dishes were delicious.
Everyone on staff was very welcoming and service was excellent. It was an extremely enjoyable evening.
We went for the 3-course lobster dinner which was a bargain. Having lunched there before, we knew the food would be good. Fresh ingredients, carefully prepared didn't disappoint. Lobster was grilled just right. The promised lobster soup didn't materialize but after some negotiation, a delicious fish soup was served. The dessert crepes were terrific.
What did disappoint was the ignorance about what was necessary to enjoy a lobster meal. Nutcrackers to crunch the shells were given but no lobster forks or bibs or wet naps. In fact when asked for something to clean up sticky hands, a dry cloth napkin was presented. Finally some lemon came out.
