We were looking for seafood. Couldn’t be better. In fact, everything (name it) was top notch EXCEPT it was so noisy you couldn’t hear ourselves think, much less our dinner companion or a waiter. To talk, one had to raise his voice, adding to the cacophony. The acoustics or the large table nearby? No sure. Maybe that’s a reason for not going on a Saturday evening. If it were less crowded and therefore less noisy, surely the evening would have been perfect. Moreover, it excited us for our possible visit to Croatia in the fall.
Wonderful dining experience! Food - especially fish- was excellent and service very good! Will return !
We had a great time at Dubrovnik - the food was delicious and the service was top-notch. Will be back again.
This must be my tenth time eating here -- it's a favorite for meeting or celebrating with friends. The food and service, as always, was excellent. Lunch is an ESPECIALLY great value for money. I can't wait til the weather improves so that I can eat on their beautiful patio. If you haven't been to Dubrovnik in this unexpected part of town, you must. You'll return once you've been, I'm sure.
Food presentation and taste were excellent. Very attentive staff and food was exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back again.
Though I requested steamed vegetables with my entree, and was assured they were - they were swimming in butter and frozen not fresh.
My dinner partner had lamb chops which were completely in seasoned and greasy. They were served with “tater tots”
Frozen fried potatoes.
The meal was very expensive and awful.
We had reservations and waited while the hostess was on the phone chatting in her native language for minutes.
Food was solid, the service was downright awful, noise lever high. Go on a weekday only and not Friday
Haven't been to this establishment for a while , but it was again an excellent choice , even better
than the first time. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Table settings are casual elegant. The ethnic food is nicely plated and delicious. Portions are plentiful. The menu consists of many fish and seafood dishes . We opted for the grilled octopus as appetizer; as second course my husband enjoyed the red snapper and I loved the branzino. All served with various fresh vegetables. There was no more room for dessert! Wine choices are many from the Dubrovnik region, lesser known , but excellent.
Noise level can be a bit overwhelming if the restaurant is really packed, but it is lovely to see
such brisk business. We shall be back again and ask our friends to join us.
Went out with friends, had a great experience! Would recommend it highly, definitely going back!
Definitely will return . Love this restaurant. Only one problem is lack of parking, and you have to drive there.
This was a visit for lunch during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. Both my wife and I took advantage of the special restaurant week menu. We were not disappointed. From the very friendly hostess to the pleasant waiter and delicious food we enjoyed our experience. If you are familiar with Croatian cuisine, advance notification can produce a meal prepared "under the bell".
Great restaurant with amazing Croatian dishes. I went for dinner with my friend during restaurant week. Food was delicious, a lot of options, very reasonable prices with great service. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic Croatian food. Great wine selection as well.
Delicious and (seemingly) authentic Croatian Mediterranean cuisine. We were seated in the basement wine cellar which started out very quiet and intimate and eventually became very lively. The grilled octopus was absolutely delicious and the root vegetables with the seafood entrée were also terrific.
The Croatian white wine was crisp and had a nice mineral tone. Very good with the seafood. Only quibble: there were several Croatian white wines on the menu none of which I knew, I asked the waiter and he recommended the most expensive bottle, $58
Everything was great
Especially the octopus s and the grilled fish
Great wine from Montenegro a
Exceeded my expectations. The server knew his wines, the ambience was nice, and the food was prepared perfectly. I had the seafood pasta, which was delicious and a very generous portion. It included half a lobster, about 6 clams, 8 mussels, and a few shrimp. The sauce was very flavorful and was not over buttered. I’ll definitely be back.
The Raw Bar night met all our expectations. Everything was fresh. The selection was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the various oysters.
The food and waiter were very good, however, the hostess kept us waiting for 7 minutes at the door while fielding a phone call until a waiter took pity on us and seated us. Then the hostess comes by, not to apologize, but to ask us if we had reservations. It was 5pm and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. How rude and pompous of the hostess.
It was restaurant week and the waiter did not share the same information about the seafood choices as he did with other customers
Really enjoyed it.
The service was amazing and the food was incredibly delicious!
Loved the grilled seafood! So fresh!
Gracious, friendly service complements the delicious food and the beautiful presentation, prices are fair and reasonable relative to the superb quality, and although we've never been to Croatia, this restaurant strikes us as a wonderful ambassador for "the old country."
It was great.
Everything was wonderful and scepter for the valet parking which was inefficient to say the least!
We had to wait almost an hour for our reservation. The wine list is not very good with old white wines and red wines uninteresting. Second time we’ve been there but won’t be returning.
Excellent restaurant. Best fish ever (Branzino). Service very good.
We've been to Dubrovnik (the restaurant) five or six times since they opened. We particularly enjoy summertime when we can eat outside, although we've eaten downstairs in their "wine cellar" twice and indoors upstairs another time .... all nice as well.
The noise level is definitely energetic indoors, and it's almost always crowded, which reinforces the quality and value of this restaurant. Their fish are very good, and we've enjoyed many distinctly Croatian meals. Their Croatian wines are excellent and affordable, which is a big plus. This past weekend, we also tried their not so Croatian Tiramisu, which was outstanding.
We had one downer of an experience this trip. They seem to have under-estimated demand for their dinner specials. We arrived at about 6:50pm ... certainly early for a Saturday evening. Two of the specials were already sold out ... and they were both, unfortunately, what one of our party wanted. The third choice was still very good, although less distinctive. No restaurant should sell out of their Saturday night specials so early in the evening ... at least not in my book.
We dine at Dubrovnik frequently. We'll continue to go back and recommend this place to anyone interested in trying something a little different than you might otherwise get here in Westchester.
Outstanding meal with great service from our waiter, Bobby & his team! The Grilled Octopus appetizer is excellent but the Cuttlefish Risotto appetizer is truly legendary. The Chicken Soup with Dumplings is great, a mix of wonderfully flavored soup with (really) diced matzoh balls. Try the Croatian wines - surprisingly good! The veal ragu & the Mama Theresa Zuppa del Mare are unbelievable. The Flan for dessert is a great finish if you have room; the sorbets are the best I’ve ever had & the Croatian crepes with various alternate fillings are sensational. Dubrovnik Restaurant on Main Street in New Rochelle, NY is a true gem - & worth any trip!!! Our 3rd visit already and only the beginning!
We had 4 people, plus a 22 month old. The staff were very helpful and patient. Even though Dubrovnik is most appropriate for adults, we were pleased when another family came in with a child close in age to ours. The children weren’t consistently noisy, but could be heard from time to time. We were reassured by our very attentive server, who kept telling us that he had kids and grandkids, no problem. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks, but the outstanding service is what we will remember.
Food was delicious. Service was great very attentive without being over bearing
The food was very good. Bringing a tray of today's catch to the table for inspection is a nice touch. The service was painfully slow. While service was polite, it could be more attentive (difficult getting someones attention for more water or more bread).
Great food ambience. So nice to see traditional service is still offered, along with fresh and delicious food.
Everything was great, starting from welcoming and friendly staff to the delicious food they have.Authentic Croatian style.Love it.
I've eaten here twice and the food and service were very good on both occasions. The Branzino is delicious and there is enough variety on the menu to suit most tastes. The dessert menu is a nice finish. The staff are very friendly. We've eaten in the main room and downstairs. The downstairs vibe is definitely cozier and we will request downstairs next time since we will definitely go back.
Dubrovnik always has a lovely ambiance and great service with amazing food and a great wine selection. We have started a Christmas Eve dinner tradition at Dubrovnik and look forward to many more in the coming years.
Lovely restaurant. Good service. Good food. We're new to the neighborhood and wanted to try someplace different - and we found a great spot. Seems family friendly but is definitely good for dates and "adult" dinners.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated. It feels warm and elegant. The bread is fresh, the olive oil is extra virgin and tasty with herb, and the bread spread is very good. The mussels are outstanding, among the best that we had in different restaurants. The fish is nicely cooked - soft and tender on the inside, but with a somewhat crispy skin. Excellent food and service.
Dubrovnik is a warm and cozy, invitingly appointed restaurant with really good food and excellent service. I went there recently with friends to take advantage of their Mon-Wed night 3-course prix fixe Lobster dinner and was very pleased. The lobster soup was a nice starter and different from the usual bisque. The lobster itself was broiled just right. The apricot crepes for dessert added a nice finish.
Food and service overall good to very good. Extremely noisy in the restaurant this particular evening. We requested Branzino and Orata to be filleted by the server, but the server did not do a very good job. Server also did not have a very good working knowledge of the wine offerings. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable experience overall.
Our meals were excellent! Best swordfish!
Another great Raw Bar event! I don’t know how Chef Jerry does it but each one meets or exceeds the high bars set by his previous events. A marvelous variety of carpaccios including swordfish, scallops, fluke, and monkfish were complemented by salmon, tuna, lobster, and octopus salads. And more. All flawlessly executed.
We anxiously look forward to his next offering.
