We go for the food and Annette who is awesome. Her service is among the best.
The Mission Inn has beautiful architecture and Duane's steak and seafood house really continue that theme in their restaurant. The ambience sets the tone for a nice romantic evening. All of the staff was extremely friendly and continuously attentive and the food was delicious. I would not recommend this to be a place for young kids but definitely a nice setting for a romantic date or getting drinks and great food with friends.
I loved everything except the brussel sprouts, which I was looking forward to. But the steak was like butter, I loved everything!
Duane's has been a destination restaurant for this carnivore for this side of forever. A long-postponed romantic dinner provided the perfect excuse. And we were not disappointed. My date had the scallops, which were succulent aquatic M&Ms that melted in her mouth. I had the N.Y. Strip that was very good. It wasn't the best steak I ever had, but it did have a nice, vibrant taste to it, one only slightly enhanced by the mushroom sauce. The Shrimp Caesar salad is a true keeper, featuring Cajun-seasoned shrimp that were the perfect enhancement and a Caesar dressing that will make you want to lick the plate.
Oh and the Chocolate Souffle? Run. Do not walk and order it, especially if you don't have a sweet tooth. It is simply The Perfect Dessert.
The wine list has a nice variety across the board, including some good red blends you don't often see. Yes, Duane's isn't for the faint-of-wallet, but it is only one of three AAA Four Diamond restaurants in Riverside County outside of the Coachella Valley and it earned its chops.
We were seated at a cozy little table and introduced to the entire serving staff at the beginning of the meal. The server was attentive and provided just enough conversation mixed with information regarding our choices at made the experience feel very intimate. Each course of our meal, exquisitely presented, was piping hot and came to the table at exactly the right time for the previous course to have settled. The portions were very generous and expertly seasoned. Of course, you get what you pay for, but be prepared to spend a bit for a great meal! It will go down as one of our more memorable meals over our 18 years together! Thanks Duane's!
The wait staff, the ambience and the food are spot on! Guessing the excessive corkage fee is to compensate for the sommelier who is a delightful gentleman with incredible wine knowledge without pretentious overtones. Enjoyed the evening, will do it again.
Service was awful and very, very slow. We sat down at 6:15, and left at 9:30. Of course, they had to cook my dinner twice. I was very disappointed in the entire experience. When I spoke to the man in charge of the dining room service, he started telling a story about coaching teenager's sports. Two people from our table just got up and left about 5 minutes into his story, which had nothing to do with anything. Obviously, he did not want to hear about the service, or just didn't care. I will not return.
The steaks were amazing and cooked perfectly, if you are looking for an amazing meal go no further than Duane’s.
Dinner eight years in a row and never a disappointment!
Initially seated at very small table even though restaurant was near empty with many booths available. Since we booked on Open Table, did we get seated at a lousy table? However the table was leaning so we asked to be moved and were seated at a booth. Service was extremely slow. Waiter asked three separate times if we were celebrating a special occasion, giving him the same answer each time. At the end of dinner, we received wrong check, took 5 minutes to flag down the manager, who continued to another table. Ten minutes later we received correct check. Also, bathroom was not clean. We were disappointed since we've received poor service on our last two visits.
The service was great. They picked the perfect wine. The food was great and we enjoyed every moment were there.
You get what you pay for! Top notch service and food for a high end price. Everyone must go once!
Came back to have my expectations met! Great quality food. Some of the best service in this city!
I put on the reservation to green carnations at the table they did not get them.
It was great
Everything was perfect
Great friendly service coupled with a delicious meal paired with a great wine. What more can you ask for? Thanks!!
I've been to Duanes twice to celebrate birthdays. Great service and the best steak I've ever had. I enjoyed my stay at the Mission Inn.
We had a wonderful dinner at Duane's in the Mission Inn. The filet mignon and lobster were superb, the server (Annette) was very good and attentive, and the restaurant was elegant and the perfect place to celebrate our wedding Anniversary!
First time visiting Duane's Prime Steak & Seafood Restaurant!! Menu choices, wine list and service were excellent. Annette was our waitress and we were were seated in a lovely booth in the back corner with no other table next to us. Loved the ambiance - how can you not like the historic Mission Inn. Looking forward to returning again for another delicious meal.
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday and it was not a disappointment. From the food to the service, everything was first class.
We live about two hours away, but it was so worth the trip. We would like to go again for their brunch or maybe during Christmas time.
It’s a 4 diamond restaurant so be ready to spend $100 a plate. Definitely a special occasion kind of place.
Fantastic food and they cooked it to perfection. They were slow to seat us and seemed understaffed.
Food was low quality and taste for the price. I have no qualms paying $125+ per person for a dining experience but I expect quality and taste commensurate with price. Very disappointing.
An upscale dining experience. Excellent service. Good food. Very pricey.
Celebrated Valentine’s Day and Wedding Anniversary
Menu could have more choices. I may recommend the restaurant to others depending on what they were looking for.
They were rude and actually burned my steak. Was not pleased
I took my wife to Duane's for Valentine's Day (actually the night after) because she deserved to go to the nicest place I could find. Duane's reputation and the prices both agreed that this was that place, though I hadn't been there before.
I was happy to see the online reservation system, but surprised to see that there was nothing earlier than 9:30 pm, actually nothing at all besides that time. I called to see if there was anything earlier, but the receptionist just referred me back to the online system.
So okay, I left my number so they could notify me if there was anything earlier. Got a text message saying it was ready at 9 pm, so we headed out, arriving there about 9:15. Of course the Mission Inn is beautiful, and the bar outside had a live entertainer who was pretty darn good and taking requests, so that was good.
The restaurant itself is amazing, ambience like nothing else in the area, and the hostess and waiter were both really nice, but entering the restaurant there were about ten people total there at about 4 tables, with maybe twenty tables empty... So why was there no earlier reservations? Either a hundred people left 15 minutes before I got there, pretty unlikely, or the reservation system is set up to fill only 25% of the restaurant, which is not very customer friendly.
But that wasn't a deal-breaker, we were prepared for it but a little frustrated. Going in the service was great and the selection was really good, especially the wine list. My wife had wine earlier and I am not a wine drinker, so we had cocktails instead. They were about the same as a garden variety casual restaurant. Nothing special for sure, but okay.
The special was steak and lobster, which my wife and I both were excited for, given that was what Duane's is famous for. Unfortunately both were again just garden variety. I ate later at the Original Roadhouse, with prices less than half of Duane's and the steak was just as good, maybe better. The lobster was not memorable.
Expensive for our food choice. Better value at other upscale restaurants.
Dinner was very good. Service was a little slow in clearing plates when meal was complete. Not enough attention to detail.
Always enjoy dining at Duanes when staying at the Mission Inn. The environment and service is great. The food is very good.
The service and the food just wasn’t up to par. My friend and I ordered the same entrée but I ordered my steak cooked medium and she ordered it medium well and they switched our plates by accident even though I asked “is this medium? “And they said yes. it wasn’t. it was overcooked and then when they brought the right steak to me they didn’t bring it with any gravy on it as the previous steak had on it I just think at these prices that is unacceptable. The noise level was ridiculous super rude people sitting around us and honestly we were seated in the second rate part of the restaurant even though I had made reservations well in advance it just wasn’t the same experience that we have historically had at Duane’s
Went for a birthday dinner. Both the service and the food were impeccable . Cannot wait for another special occasion for an excuse to come back again.
Eaten here multiple times and always satisfied. However this last time was the best. Definitely best meal I’ve ever had.
Samira was our server she was delightful and informative. The food was good for the prices it could have been better.
Service food . Very Slow
Steak was not tender for prime meat. The steak was lukewarm at best.
Amazing service. Food is excellent. A real nice place to go to celebrate or to treat yourself.
EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE staff. We were celebrating our anniversary, I had mentioned that when making our reservation. Upon check-in, they said I see you're celebrating your anniversary, and from the moment we sat down everyone we dealt with congratulated us. There were alot of other people celebrating occasions, but they make you feel special, like you're the only one. So that was nice. Very comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The food was amazing and the chocolate souffle for dessert is not to be missed! They also bring you a boxed cupcake from Casey's cupcakes to take home. A bit pricey, but so worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
