Duane's Prime Steaks & Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
It’s hard for me to not review anything at the Mission Inn with 5 stars, because I love The Mission Inn and I want it to prosper, but we came to Duane’s for my Moms 80th bday and brought my two young kids along. It took about 75 minutes after ordering for the food to arrive (it was 8pm by then and the place was half empty) finally when it came out my filet was well done when supposed to be medium. I was very disappointed and just canceled my steak, no time to remake. The fish special was good, I shared other meals at the table so I could eat. They adjusted the bill which was nice, however I’m more interested in knowing that if I ever go back to Duane’s it will be the experience it should have been, not really all that interested in a discount.
It was Friday night and we made a 7:30pm reservation. When we arrived at our reserved time we were told by the hostess that they needed to check if our table was ready. We peeked into the restaurant and saw that it was mostly empty tables. We sat at the bar and waited for 45 minutes before our table was ready. It was then 9:30pm before we received our appetizers. We ordered the lobster bisque and the Waldorf salad. That took an hour to hit the table but it tasted good. Mind you, it was two hours after we arrived so at that point we were famished. We had steaks for main course which were also very good. Our server suggested that if we wanted the chocolate souffle we should order while we were finishing up our steak because it took about 30 minutes. We thought the evening had been epic so far so we gave it a miss and got out with a 11pm finish. That was surprisingly slow service for what seemed to be a somewhat empty restaurant.
Duane's Prime Steaks & Seafood Restaurant is not a restaurant that requires a review or feedback as it is a well established place. When we went there for our Anniversary, we knew we were going to a special place. Our main servicer was Mr. Mario and the rest of his crew and they were all phenomenal. Our experience was very positive with the Atmosphere, Service, Food, and look forward to the next time that that we visit. Thank You!
Food was excellent. Didn't really care for our waiter, although the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Ordered salids but they got overlooked. Waiter did take them off our bill. We have eaten there many times over several years and loved it, but for over $200 this was not our favorite dining evening.
The Mission Inn is one of the most well operated hotels I have ever visited and it is reflected in their employees. The service all over the hotel is wonderful and particularly in Duane's. The wine stewart so knowledgeable. The food was spot on and the waiters so efficient and friendly. During our stay I did not find any employee that anything other than completely content and happy in their job. High marks for the Roberts!
I had made reservations. Our table was directly in the pathway where servers passed by when taking food etc. to all of the tables, very busy area and was next to the door. Did not like the location at all! The table was set for four. I had to change seats due to an uncomfortable draft.
Our server and his assistant were very attentive.
Food was good, but the notoriously slow service at Mission Inn restaurants pervaded the experience. With the holidays, it looked they tried to jam in more tables. This resulted in me having to wait to sit down until the dirty plates for the neighboring table were carted off.
We have used this restaurant often to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We have always been very satisfied. Tonight was not a good experience. The soup was not good. It was French onion. The cheese was like chewing gum. My filet was ok. The baked potato was almost cold and still a little undercooked. We had been seated for an hour and 15 minuets before we even got our drinks. One of our party went and talked to the manager and he removed the soup from the bill, but no one seemed to care it was a bad experience. This was my parents 66th anniversary and it was pretty much ruined. At this price point I expect better. This is not the place it used to be. We will look elsewhere next year. Very disappointing.
It was our one year anniversary and our first experience at Duane's we were seated by the service door, it took ten minutes for a server to come to our table, it took 20 minutes to get a drink order, it 30 minutes before we got any bread, hour and 1/2 from sit down to food on the table. Our food was overcooked and cold. We were very disappointed.
We have been going to Duane’s for years @ Christmas, Anniversary’s & special occasions. Did they get new owners? Our steaks were cold and had probably been sitting out for quite some time. I sent mine back & it was returned in same condition. My husband was afraid to send his back. $80 steaks should come to the table hot! Not a good experience on Christmas Day. Disappointed.
I had the filet mignon with a baked potato. My partner had the salmon. Each comes ala carte and were both delicious. The dining room is elegant and is in a beautiful historic hotel in
downtown Riverside. If you get a chance to stay at the hotel stay in one of the Mission Rooms.
We did and found them to be some of the most interesting rooms. Many famous celebrities
have stayed here.
Magical Christmas Eve. Food was scrumptious....we ordered too much and loved it all. Desserts spectacular!!! It was a grand evening. Santa was a wonderful surprise and the carolers voices were angelic. Same little girl in the Santa pictures below. - 1946 and 2017. Thank you.
Reservation at 9:30pm, seated at 10:15 with several tables completely open. Hostess was running around, no communication. Finally another gentleman came by and asked if I had been helped. I told him that I had been waiting over 30 min. Finally he came about 10 min later and sat us. We were shocked to see how many open tables there were when they sat us. Waitress was friendly, food decent, although somewhat pricey, but experience for seating was awful.
Definitely not worth the drive or wait. I got reservations a week and a half early. We got there an hour early and not one waiter greeted us. We checked in (an hour early - our reservation was for 8:30pm) and waiter told us to come back at 8:20pm and she’ll seat us by 8:30pm. We came back, she looked at us, checked in two other groups, told them she would seat them soon and still didn’t mention anything to us. We waited until 8:40 and still no one was helping us so we left. We finally got a text around 8:50 saying our table was ready but we were already annoyed with the service. Very rude waitresses and unprofessional staff. Disappointed we drove out from Anaheim to try the restaurant. Would not recommend others to try this restaurant. Don’t understand how a “four diamond resturant” would have unprofessional staff.
I would not recommend dinner during the Christmas Light Festival. Reservations hard to get. service was terrible, even though the restaurant was not crowded. However, food was quite good, though not very warm. I would try again during a less busy time of the year.
For the price of the food, there are better choices. Our server was nice. The server actually doing the work was remarkable, friendly and on point (Orlando). Our table for two was jammed into a corner with spotlights. Not very romantic.
From the time we ordered until we got our steaks was over an hour. The steak was not tender and the flavor was just ok. The goat cheese served with the steak was by far the best item on our plates.
Dinner started off like any other fine dining experience. The waiter and back waiter introduced themselves and started the dining process. That's when things started to not feel very well. My wife and I noticed extreme periods of waiting between the first moments of the service. We had arrived early at 5 because we had a concert to go to. It took until 7 for the main course to actually arrive. If I had not inquired with the waiter as what's holding up the meal, we would not have been able to get to the concert. The quality of the filet mignon and the tenderloin Trio were subpar as well. Both meals look as though they were under a heat lamp. The tenderloin Trio was dry if it wasn't for the sauces and were thin of a filet mignon cut. The asparagus was soggy. The baked potato was raw. Because of the rushing to finish, we didn't have time for dessert. This was not what I expected of a 4-star rated restaurant in the United States.
We are we're at Duane's about 10 days ago and gave it a 5-star rating. We had a reservation at 5:30 and everything seemed as it should be. This reservation was at 8:30 and we weren't seated until 9:30 party of four. My tempura Lobster was overcooked and rubbery at $48. My husband had the seared Ahi and he got the tail portion that had lots of stringy membranes through it. The filet I was told was great. Because we were seated so late we didn't turn any of the food back in. If doing it again I would certainly get a reservation earlier in the evening.
