Amazing sushi and cocktails! Starburst Roll, Drunken Fish Roll, and the Spider-Man Roll are delicious!!
Drunken Fish is one of my favorite places to get sushi. It is a bit difficult to see due to their signage on the building (city code) but worth looking for. They have an outdoor eating area which would be more appealing if the table had some umbrellas, etc. We were there late afternoon and it would have been very warm sitting outside in the direct sunlight.
As always...I love this place. Atmosphere, food and cocktails are fantastic
We had dinner here for our anniversary. Great experience, can't wait to come back for more sushi!
The Superman & Spider-Man rolls were amazing.
We were disappointed in the food. Felt the sushi rolls were not sufficient for what we are used to at other restaurants. The service was great and very personable.
Great patio. Love the fountains. it was a perfect evening.
We always enjoy our dinner time at drunken fish. Though it is a little more costly than most sushi place you will receive excellent service and romantic ambiance. The superman roll is my personal favorite and the Philly cheese steak roll is my fiancés. Most importantly save room for dessert we've tried couple different ones and they were all wonderful!
The extensive sushi list gave everyone an opportunity to pick something they wanted to try
everything we tried was great
Went to get dinner on the patio the other night. Server forgot to put our order in therefore we sat there 55 minutes waiting. When we got our food the server recognized that he put in the order for the incorrect rolls and so we got a roll that wasn't ours. The server told us because he messed up we could keep the incorrect roll, which was a nice gesture but it wasn't a roll that we would order so it was wasted on his error. We eat here all the time and unfortunately you will get a poor server every now and then. Most of the time the food and service is good and I would highly recommend.
The food was great and the wait staff was very attentive. Tough to see menu because it was dark but we took the fake candles out and used them to read with. Sort of pricey, especially the drinks for how much you get. It was my boyfriends birthday so we got the free apple cheesecake. VERY YUMMY!!
Make sure you order the Lobster Spring Roll.
We arrived in time for the tail end of happy hour & sushi prices were very reasonable. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining menu options & service was excellent. we would definitely return
we love Drunkin Fish! it is our favorite sushi in KC
Great experience overall. Had a great waitress, service is what truly matters to me and she did a great job.
This is one of the few places that I really want to keep going back to so that I may try everything on the menu. My husband and i frequent the Drunken Fish (both locations) and they are always amazing!
The appetizers we chose were very good. The cocktails were tasty. Unfortunately, the entrees the noodle dish and the chicken teriyaki were dry and lacked flavor. For desert the banana dish lacked flavor and was just bland. The strawberry desert was very good. Some of the dishes were good, some weren't. We wished we would have chosen a roll to try for an entrée instead of the bland entrees that we ended up with.
Dinner was great....easy place to go to relax. Quiet atmosphere, excellent service and food was great. Definitely going to take our kids back with us next time. Easy to make reservations and prices are very reasonable.
I think this restaurant is meant more for those that want a good clean and nice environment for their sushi. The sushi was good, but not the best that I have had in KC. I would still recommend if you aren't a picky sushi person and like sushi.
Service was very good and the food was the same. We have been to this particular restaurant several times and have yet to have a bad experience.
Enjoyed Happy Hour with my husband for Valentine's Day! Food was great as always.
Went for restaurant week in 2015 and have a great experience. Both the lady and I were impressed.
IT WAS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE EVENING OF OUR RESERVATION ONE OF THEIR HEATING UNITS WAS NOT WORKING AND WE HAD TO KEEP OUR COATS ON WHILE DINING, SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT AS AN OMEN AND LEFT!
OUR FIRST APPETIZER WAS A LOBSTER SPRING ROLL, ALL CREAM CHEESE VERY LITTLE SEAFOOD. NEXT WAS SOFT SHELLED CRAB, OR AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. SOFT SHELL CRAB IS RATHER DELICATE, THIS WAS SO ENCRUSTED IN CRUMBS THAT OTHER THAN THE EXAGGERATED "CRAB" SHAPE YOU HAD NO IDEA WHAT YOU WERE EATING. WE KEPT ORDERING THINKING THINGS WOULD EVENTUALLY GET BETTER, NOT! THE SUSHI WAS THIN, DRY AND A BIT TOUGH--------AT THAT POINT WE GAVE UP AND WENT NEXT DOOR AND HAD A LOVELY DINNER. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE.
OUR WAITER WAS VERY NICE AND APOLOGETIC ABOUT THE HEAT. UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING COULD HAVE MADE UP FOR THE DISASTROUS FOOD.
A VERY DISAPPOINTING EVENING AT DRUNKEN FISH
My wife and I had a wonderful experience! Great food and was great for conversation.
Food presentation was beautiful. The sushi was beautiful but the fried rice dishes were tasteless and the teriyaki chicken was so tough I couldn't cut it with the knife. There were only two couples there Saturday for lunches from noon thru 130. Won't be back
It was pretty slow with lots of tables open at the dining area but the maitre' d thought it would be a good idea to fill in the bar seating area first. Seats were slightly lower than usual and it was uncomfortable to eat with the table almost to your neck level.
Food was decent and the server was somewhat attentive. But don't expect "the extra mile" kind of service. She dismissed my request without even asking her manager. I asked for sauce for my take out and she gave me an empty container to put in my 5 drops of leftover sauce. What is with that?
I gave this place a 3rd chance after 2 bad experiences thinking the 3rd time is better but I guess I will not be coming back.
The attention from the moment we walked in the door was excellent. The hostess greeted us and checked us in while we waited for the remaining party to arrive. The server was attentive but not overwhelming or obtrusive.
Quick to be seated, receive water and have a waiter come to our table. Food not so good. Appetizers (shrimp tempura / vegetable tempura were greasy (Oil not hot enough - batter absorbed the oil). Miso soup was excellent. Sushi was okay but not great. Would prefer a larger selection of sushi (limited). Rec'd green tea, would have preferred black tea. Wait staff was very good - cannot overcome food experience.
restaurant atmosphere was good but food was just meh. I've had better sushi elsewhere
Great place to try Japanese food. The server explained the menu items with enthusiasm and great descriptions. She was able to tell us which dishes were raw, cooked, how prepared , and make great recommendations. The atmosphere was pleasant and family friendly. We had a native Japanese with us. She said it was authentic and yummy!!!!
We were a bit late for our reservations, yet they still found a table for us. We all had the sushi. The crispy roll was the favorite at our table. We also ordered the tuna sashimi, which is my favorite. We will going back for that. The drinks are a bit over priced but were good! Happy hour would be a good time to check it out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Drunken Fish in Leawood. We went for lunch and were greeted by Alyssa who also was our server. She was friendly, attentive and very helpful in advising us on various dishes. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and then answered all our newby questions. We ordered three appetizers and enjoyed each one, especially the Lobster Roll. My husband ordered a salad (I wasn't quite sure what to expect in a salad in a sushi restaurant, but) it was beautifully presented and tasted great according to him. Our entrees were works of art and tasted wonderful. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere that was relaxing and quite pleasant. It made for a very leisurely lunch which was just what we were looking for. I would not hesitate to recommend Drunken Fish in Leawood and would love to go there again and have Alyssa serve us again.
Food was very good & fish seemed/tasted very fresh. Not a fan of the scallop nigiri; rolls were very strong & the red snapper carpaccio was great. Waiter was very attentive & friendly as well.
Our food was delicious and presented so uniquely. Our party asked the server lots of questions and she patiently and expertly answered all of them. We'll definitely return and refer.
Love the location, ambiance, wait staff and the food!!!
All the food was very good, but the spicy Eskimo was ridiculous :)
Return visit to this location. Continues to provide good food and service although this time the server was a little more harried.
The red dragon roll was excellent
Ask for Lexi...she was amazing and made our first visit so good that we will definitely be back!!
