Really nice place with some great food. I really enjoyed everything about the place and they have a great happy hour menu.
Should I say very small portions or overpriced?
The rice is what knocks Drunken Dragon down to only 4.5 stars. There, I had to get that out of the way because otherwise our dinner was perfect!
I'd heard about Drunken Dragon and it's speakeasy vibe - for awhile the entry sign just read "market" - and brought a friend here for her birthday. Surprisingly enough, I got there a little bit ahead, and the hostess was kind enough to hold our reservation until the birthday girl arrived. I sat at the bar and started off with their Seoul Surfer - rum (of course) and a side of Berkshire Pork belly gyoza. Served with a tiki umbrella, flavored with passion fruit, elderflower, lime, hibiscus and a balanced splash of rum my cocktail was perfect as an apertif. The sweet taste of the mixes balanced the spicy gyoza sauce and the pork belly with the right amount of salt & hearty. The noodles had a good texture as well, not falling apart when using chopsticks.
The vibe is classy / romantic with dim lighting, sexy r&b, wood paneling & somewhat erotic art. It is very much a date night or special occasion kind of place.
When my friend arrived, the hostess took us promptly to our table. Our waitress recommended their "Battered Twice Fried Fried Chicken". I skipped the ranch sauce and enhanced my perfectly crispy chicken wings (decently sized!) with their red dragon hot sauce. I even used some of the sauce to try and spice up the chicken fried rice. Our waitress did suggest to try the stone pot rice next time.
Besides the Seoul surfer, I enjoyed a strong, mildly sweet and well flavored rum old fashioned. My friend and I also shared their cold sake.
Since it was her birthday, I mentioned as much on the reservation and she was serenaded & served Mochi ice cream with a candle and all. My favorite one of those was the strawberry.
Great ambiance: music, style, service all were on point!
Horrible experience. Food was cold. Didn’t come at time. Left one dish to bring to table.
Everything tasted great and the service was awesome. Would definitely go again!
I have been to the restaurant a few times before, a few years back, and it seems to deteriorate, and it's not as pristine as it used to be. Worn out tables
Our server was very pleasant and responsive and did a very good job. The food came very quickly (seemed rushed). We were completely done with everything and ready to go within 1 hour. So - overall, mixed opinion. With so many options out there, this restaurant is not standing out.
We love this place, have been many times, and are never disappointed. The only drawback this time was that none of us really cared for the pork belly dumplings. Probably just a personal preference, because everything else was out of this world. It's worth a visit just for the D&D rice. Our server was impeccable and never missed a beat. We will keep going back again and again.
Delicious food. Great service. Not too loud and a nice ambiance. Everyone was kind and informative about the food and drinks. MUST TRY!
Drunken Dragon was absolutely wonderful! The service was great and food was absolutely delish! Totally recommend.
Muy buena atención. El short rib es espectacular y su lobster roll es una delicia. Es una buena opción pedir muchos platillos y compartirlos.
Pricey for low quality
Has to wait till I was almost done for my beer to be served to me. Waiters reason was “it was not as cold as he would have liked” . So I finished my food with almost the whole beer. Waiter only asked once if we needed anything half way through the meal which is when he finally was informed that I was still waiting on my drinks. Mushroom order had a very strong lemon taste, overpowering in fact. Rest of the food was good. Restutant was a nice place. Just had issues with the service & the seasoning of the mushrooms. Ruined half the meal.
Our waitress was nice and profesional, but the runner the person that bring our food, place the plates like put it for her dog we almost left the place.
Really good food! Ambiance was beautiful to even just sit at the bar and have some tapas
By far the best dining experience in south beach. Chef Mike puts together some of the tastiest Asian fair inspired food . Great old school hip hop r and b playlist and high energy attentive servers. Makes the dining experience fun.
Great food and awesome bbq option to cook everything at the table- one of a kind, a must do! Get the bao buns!
Food came out fast and was so yummy
So much fun grilling our own meats and veggies at the table! Great service, yummy food and tasty cocktails! Fun for everyday
The mango bread pudding is a surprisingly refreshing finish to our favorite savories at Drunken Dragon! We tend to lean into the delicious bok choy, Brussels, and grilled vegetables. Korean short ribs and shrimp add just a touch of hearty protein.
In the beginning the server came every 3-5 mins asking if we were ready to order (kinda annoying) then when my girlfriend asked for fries after our meals came, we needed to ask 3 times to 2 different servers to get the fries. Not very consistent but it was alright
Amazing!! Don’t be turned away from front of building. Amazing
The surprise is when you enter! The food was great, staff was friendly, drinks could’ve been stiffer. Valet was expensive but there’s plenty of parking in the area.
Fabulous find. Excellent restaurant from the service to the food. Even tho they were short staffed, service could not have been better. If visiting Miami, don’t fall for fancy upscale rip off restaurants, this place is a Diamond in the Rough!!
Very good food, great if you ask for table with the grill
The food was cooked to a perfection
Upscale Korean food with amazing service. Drinks are so good, intimate vibe.
This place was fabulous 4 years ago, and the duck bao buns are still incredible, but it seems to have lost its vibe somewhat. We have eaten there probably ten times, but it has been about 2 years since our last visit. The techno music got a little old. Some diversity in music would have been nice.
It’s always the best vibe, great bartenders, food and drinks.
It used to be a great restaurant, nowadays it’s just a very average place
Doesn’t look like much on the outside but the place is a hidden gem inside. Bring a jacket or shawl cause the ac is a little cold. The food was very flavorful, very good. The fried bokchoy was delicious! Would definitely go back.
The best Korean bbq on south beach, don’t let the outside foul you, the ambiance inside can be described as... you have to go experience it yourself! All the meats will melt in your mouth and the lemon chicken is perfectly marinated. Ryan the host is the sweetest, love to call drunken my local go to spot 💕
Maybe the best food i’ve ever had, can’t wait to come back again!
All around, greta experience, Don't let the outside fool you!!! My wife and I walked there around sunset, and when we we got there, her reaction was, "oh no, where have you brought me"! I was pretty apprehensive as well. Upon opening the door, we had a Willy Wonka type experience. Amazing ambience, and vibe and good themed drinks. We started with the Tuna Tataki Pizza which was light and awesome. Then we had the Korean Grilled meat and vegetables. Very reminiscent ok Koreatown in NYC. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!!!
Don’t be fooled by this strip mall restaurant! Everything was delicious and superb service!!
First of all when we got there, we were seated at a regular table without the “grill” even though we had reserved ahead. I asked a waiter he said “that’s how it is!”. Then I spotted the only person who seemed to care inside, so I obviously identified that he was the manager and he explained to us that we were second in line for the grill (no one had told us this!) and that we could sit at the bar to wait. So finally we get a table, the waitress was barely attentive. I had to call her multiple times. She literally just dropped the raw meat and shrimp on the table, did not give us any instructions or directions. The fried rice sucked. Then, she never asked if we wanted dessert. I asked her for a dessert menu and she goes “did you not scan the menu?” (Physical and scanned menus were both options available to clients) then she annoyingly hands it to me. Walked away. Never came back to ask if we want dessert. So I flagged her down, asked for the bill. She brought the card machine over and kind of hinted that I should add more tip (although 18% is included) I was like UM NO! Signed my bill and left. NEVER AGAIN!
Great experience. The ramen isn’t the same 😕
This place was fantastic. The food was great and overall service is great
