First time in Toronto
Somewhat pricey but the food was definitely worth it, super tasty. Atmosphere was good, lots of cool art and interesting decor.
Wonderful lunch with my great friend who was visiting from England! Thank you for creating the ambiance and delicious food for a memorable get-together.
Had never been to the restaurant, like the ambience, service very friendly and food very good. Definitely will be going back.
Overall okay experience. One of our wine glasses was a bit dirty and we got charged for an extra piece of toast for our steak Tatar that we hadn’t asked for/been told about till I saw it on the bill. Other than those two issues, we enjoyed the food.
Food would have been better if both of the entrees were served before food was cold.
We enjoyed the venue and our brunch was delicious. We chose the salmon eggs benedict ☺
I love the live band on Sunday brunches!
4 of us started at 8pm and ended up closing the place. Wait staff were great, bartender was friendly, food was great and cocktails were perfect. DJ played great music and wasn't too loud, Will definitely return.
Great service all night . The food was fantastic . Only wish I had more pickles with my fried chicken. My girlfriend and I loved our dinner at Drake 150. Crab fritters were superb , my date loved her salmon and my chicken was excellent along with the slaw salad side. We will recommend to friends and family .
Really enjoyed the experience at Drake One Fifty. The vibe in the restaurant was great, and the food was delicious.
Steak was very poorly cooked
Great restaurant! Comfort food tastes familiar with a few creative flavour twists, making for a pleasant surprise. Portion sizes are large and satisfactory for the price.
This was our first time at the Drake. We were meeting a friend who was visiting us from California and thought it would be a good restaurant for anyone visiting Toronto. I have to say that the food was good and service was good whatever we had the ambience was good as well. However, we were not very happy as we had ordered appetizers and drinks when the shift changed; there seemed to be a smooth handoff between the two waiters as they each came and told us who would be taking over. We were not told about the kitchen's close time. When we were done with the appetizers; we requested for the main course and that is when the lady informed us that the kitchen is closed and we can order desserts. That was a bit shocking and personally we have been to all kinds of restaurants and there always has been a communication by the person attending if we would like to order anything before the kitchen closed. We did let the waitress know and she apologized and got us some macrons to make up. However, it was not a good impression of such a high end restaurant in Toronto to someone visiting the city. Our friend does not have much of a sweet tooth and it was embarrassing that our treat of the dinner was missing the main course of the entree.
Bunch was great. Loved the live band, the vibe and the decor. My steak was cooked perfectly! All very yummy.
I found the brunch service overly aggressive, with too much marketing talk (like telling us about their "juice programmes"). But the staff themselves were very attentive and friendly. I was disappointed that deserts are not allowed at brunch. There was a live performance by a very bad band, but it was Easter Sunday... nevertheless, it made talking difficult. The eggs benedict were excellent. The coffee was good but not the best.
Food was okay, but it’s nothing extraordinary.
Wonderful service. Great food and awesome music. Will definitely return.
I had a great experience; however, I had a large group of friends who were tentatively attending and had requested several times if our group could be accommodated and moved to a bigger table as we were there for a couple of hours. Overall, great service perhaps it would be appreciated if you could have bigger tables for bigger groups.
Would highly recommend the bone marrow + steak frites! Excellent cocktail menu!
This was our first stop for lunch after arriving from England. Our order was incorrect so we waited a long time for truffle oil fries. The food was average however the venue and setting was great.
Lovely Sunday brunch! Busy place but fòod was fast and very good! Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere and live music!
Large bar-bistro with mixed menu typical of the area and type of venue. We just had one course each - a black cod with samba and coconut, lemongrass etc and a special of steak and kidney pie - both were good. My glass of white house wine was not good. The cod was expensive for its size. The noise level wasn't too high but the table was wide (too distant) and sometimes it was difficult to hear. I felt like I was sitting closer to the person at the adjacent table than I was to my partner! It's a good location and an attractive-looking place that probably gets lively later in the evening, so it depends on what you like!
Over priced for sub-par food. The
Meatballs appetizer tasted like something out of a Chef Boyardee can. A disappointment for sure.
My wife and I came in all the way from Oakville to have the veggie bolognese - which I'd tried on my previous visit and LOVED. Unfortunately, as it was a Saturday at lunch time, only the brunch menu was available. I'm sure many people love the brunch menu as well, but it didn't appeal to me - virtually every dish featured eggs in one form or another and I just didn't feel like eggs for lunch! So I was disappointed, but I'll definitely be back for the veg. bolognese - only next time I'll make sure it's not on a weekend!
Noise level high and service only acceptable. The food served luke warm
An attractive restaurant in a good location for after office drinks. Our evening was just “ok”. The service was “ok” ( although the main male server had utterly no charm and did a perfunctory job). The food was “ok” but relatively bland and “spiceless”. The busboy was relegated to taking the second drink orders and they came half way through the main course. The water glasses sat empty until a request to fill them was needed. Just an average downtown place now. And fact it had empty tables on Friday night should be a warning flag for this group.
In a great location with really warm ambience and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately the food does not live up to the hype. Appetizers were not served as advertised (waiter made a mistake in the description) while food was extremely bland. It is a shame as the restaurant has great potential.
Drake 150 has been our go-to place after work, or before a show - however unfortunately our experiences have become a little less enjoyable recently. We had terrible service at our last visit, and will likely think twice before we make our next reservation.
I was taking a friend out for dinner who is from out of town. I made my reservation prior to and requested a table by the window.
They sat us in the farthest, deepest corner of the restaurant.
Service was fairly neglectful but friendly when we occasionally saw her.
Overall, would not return.
The tables for 2 are way too close. I think if you remove one table, it'll be enough to feel like you are not eating on your neighbours' tables or spying on their conversations. Getting in and out is ridiculous
35 dollar cod was barely any fish and extremely heavy.
we were attending the ballet on sunday and tried brunch at the Drake 150. The servers and service were excellent. However, the live music was extremely loud and grating and made any conversation impossible. Besides the music, the tables on either side of us were, by necessity, also extremely loud because they were competing with the musical group. so obviously, their voices were also loud. My friend and I could not hear each other speak. It ruined the entire dining experience. We ordered the eggs benedict with ham; the eggs were perfect but the ham (or bacon slices?) was full of fat gristle and the salad was soggy because everything was crammed onto one plate.
The location is ideal for opera and ballet performances, but the noise level was atrocious.
Great restaurant and will go again but:
The shrimp and marrow appetizer is not an appetizer, it's a meal, I don't know why it's on the appetizer menu.
Service was great until after dessert. I was about to launch a search party to find my waitress so I could pay the bill when she walked by. I still had to reach out and block her path to get her attention.
No gluten free options. Food was too rich. Nothing like the restaurant at the Drake Hotel.
A friend and I decided to have brunch at Drake One Fifty. I had eaten there before but she never dined here before. Our brunch was great! We both had the Drake breakfast, which was so amazingly flavourful. Our server was wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. I will return to the Drake One Fifty again!!
Everything about the night was great! I loved the atmosphere and music they had playing. The food was wonderful and so was our server
Fantastic server, amazing tartar, beautiful space.
Went for dinner before a show on a Thursday- was very close to he bar and very loud. Service and food all great but we could have been put further away from bar area as it wasn’t packed in the dining room by any means.
