Seafood Sunday’s wasn’t worth it - seafood was not fresh. Lobster was mealy, shrimp over cooked, a lot of the shellfish was closed (meaning not fresh). Dessert was good, but overall pretty disappointed.
Fun menu (great food) and really nice staff. Overall had a great experience here and would recommend!
The server was very lovely! The new menu is not my favorite. I loved when you had the Poke option.
a great place to hangout with friends on a Friday night , and meeting new peoples . Great food and great cocktails.
A great choice at any time...
From the moment I arrived, I was treated like royalty! I was seated on the skyward rooftop patio on a beautiful sunny day, and greeted with nothing but smiles from the staff from the moment I arrived, notwithstanding that my three friends arrived late for our reservation. Upon arrival, my friends wanted to switch to a different table, and without any hesitation the staff happily moved us to the one remaining empty table. The food was spectacular, especially the tuna watermelon ceviche (I’m still dreaming of it) and the Ontario trout! The drinks were delicious, with my personal fave being the Drake g+t (made with Hendrick’s gin and some additional ingredients that complemented the gin perfectly!). The service was great and they even comp’ed the salad of the day when my friend complained about the number of croutons (sorry drake, they’re very picky but they loved everything else!!). I will definitely come here again and would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to see and be seen while enjoying fabulous ambiance and fabulous food!
Never disappoints for brunch!
Even in the icky heat!
Brunch service at the Drake Hotel is amazing! The food is incredible and there are options for everyone. The wait staff was attentive and prompt. We made a group reservation for a morning after a bachelorette party and it was better than I could have imagined. The manager even gave us an order of blueberry scones for free since we were celebrating.
Went here for a date night with my girlfriend. Had apps (charcuterie board, sourdough bread, hummus). Apps were delicious, the hummus particularly. Also had ceasers, and both my gf and myself stated they were some of the best we’ve ever had. I ordered the wild boar rigatoni, girlfriend ordered the drake burger without cheese (lactose intolerant). I thought the rigatoni was awesome. Girlfriend did not like the burger, however it would most likely have been great with cheese (I tried it and thought it had very good flavour). Setting was very nice, very cool decorations. Lots of conversation going on and you sit very close to other guests. I will admit, it was a little overly expensive, but I can understand given the location.
Invited a couple of friends from out of town and was extremely disappointed with the size of the dishes and taste of the food - overall very bland and not impressed with quality at all. The sangria had only a few slices of orange and very little flavour. Won't be coming back.
Made a reservation and wanted Sky Yard in follow up phone call. It was threatening rain and I was also told there were special events booked up there so limited seating.
No one told me that it was trivia night so that area was not available so we had to be in the cafe which was FAR from ideal. Food so-so and cocktails not as interesting as past years.
Server was amazing, communication was horrible (I even called to confirm).
A favorite in West Queen West Village.
A good selection for brunch and the food came out fast. The service was very attentive and the decor was great for a nice get together .
i was extremely disappointed with the service, as when i made the reservation to have my girls get together for my bachelorette at the drake, i was planning on staying the night, having drinks and dinner. when we walked in we were told that we had a 2 hour limit, so we were immediately discouraged, and decided that we would not give the drake our business since we had a time constraint and i was not told when i made the reservation that we would have to be out. as well, with the allergies at our table, the waitress serviced us gluten that we could not eat- a very big mistake for a celiac.
Our first time at the Drake. We were there to see a show so we made reservations for dinner. It's eclectic to be sure. The 'interesting' art on the monitors was a bit much. like...we're trying really hard to be artsy so you'll feel better about our prices. Average food for a way above average price. Drinks were stupid expensive. Fortunately the concert venue is sweet. Good show. Good time...but went somewhere else for our after show bite.
Amazing experience, Ibrihim and Brittany who served our party of 13 were incredible, and the food was to die for !
Food is great, service is great if kind of understaffed.
Always consistent, cozy and culinarily satisfying!
I loved my experience here! The server was great at recommending things to try and very attentive. We got the Drake + Bake Commissary selection with the eggplant dip and duck pate. I loved the sweetness of the eggplants and my friends raved over how well the pate went with the sourdough. Our beet salad was very fresh and light, not too acidic which I like. We shared the Gemelli Verde- really surprised how much we enjoyed it and the freshness of the ingredients was amazing. We were pleasantly surprised how full we were by the end. It was pretty windy so we sat inside, but the atmosphere with the windows open and the chic interior made it perfect for a girls night catching up.
We came for my Son's 19th birthday. From the time I spoke with the lovely hostess to the adorable Benjamin (our Server) it was all fantastic. Being mindful that our food was amazing and the entire staff (runners, Chefs etc.) were dolly day dreams. Hilarious music scene with regard to live karaoke. A Monday night Gem. Yes, Monday.
It was ok never go back prices were high for the taste of the cuisine
i hate to be this person. normally i love the drake. i love the drake burger. but we ventured out and tried other options, the mushroom cavatelli was absolutely disgusting. I think the top of the salt shaker must have fallen off while he was 'seasoning' my dish. It was THE SALTIEST THING i have ever eaten, or tried to eat, it was pretty inedible.
the thai flank steak was 2 very nice, but tiny pieces of steak, hidden in a bucket of lettuce, coriander, and bamboo shoots.
Stick with the drake burger!
The reception and wait staff have improved immensely. Very friendly, and accommodating.
The quirky design is both inviting and unique. It was easy to have a quiet conversation at lunch. Our server (I think her name is Joan or Jean) was always available, but never hovered. Her friendliness seemed genuine. An A++ s erver.
Nothing special. Not a good souvenir. They put us in the back terrace in spite our reservation. Expensive for nothing.
We went for brunch and the waiter was pretty aloof and kept of forgetting about us. It was hard to get his attention, even just to get water.
The washrooms didn’t have toilet paper, and after letting a staff know, we had to wait about 10 minutes to get some, which cause a very long queue.
Overall, the food was great and we enjoyed the patio.
Salad portions are disappointing. They look so meagre on the plate and not nearly enough as a meal or even as a side salad for that matter. Fries were spectacular though!
Amazing service from being welcome to our very friendly and helpful waitress
Great Mother’s Day brunch! Great value.
Cool place ... will hit there again
Good. Average brunch
"Hip" place to be; there for Sunday brunch, probably more going on in evening.
Food good (a bit expensive for what you get); service excellent. A bit noisy because of hard surfaces - may be a problem when busier.
Great atmosphere after 10pm, lots of action, great food and drinks, staff are wonderful!
Ended up on the patio on a beautiful May afternoon. Food was solid. Service too.
We went to the Drake hotel for the rooftop. Despite the reviews, that was a disappointment: there is no views of the city to be had, and in April, the place is crafty, so we went downstairs. The hostess was very welcoming and nice. Now seated downstairs, we wait for service. There are two bartenders chatting and checking their phones, while one waitress for the whole floor runs around. I waived to the bartender who felt that he was above stepping out and get drink orders at a table. He asked the waitress to go... Nice team spirit! We ordered a bottle and appetizers. The waitress had probably not been trained to open and serve sparking wine, but it is not her fault (although she should have an interest in learning) and she was very nice. Food was ordinary at best. To end on a good note, the space is nice and welcoming (like the staff). Nice place to spend with friends, but I would not go for the quality of the food.
We go for brunch all of the time on weekends. We have a baby and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Food is also awesome.
Went for birthday dinner date. The service was lovely and thoughtful. The main issue was that there were very limited vegan options. It didn't feel like we were sitting down to a meal, it felt like we were sitting down for a romantic evening salad. Given that the Drake has been a staple on Queen West, we were surprised that there were no mains that could be prepared vegan. If you're vego or vegan I would not recommend going there for more than a light lunch.
The food wasn’t very good at all. I ordered the fried chicken after the server gave it a rave review and it was terrible. The sauce tasted off and the chicken itself was dry. My friend ordered the truffle lasagna again because the server recommended it, and it was awful. My husband ordered the pork hock and was given the cod. Not to mention the server forgot to ask if we had everything we needed and when asked to bring ketchup for the fries he said “no problem” but, it never came. We went long periods of time without being checked on and sat with empty glasses. When the server finally came around to check on us we ordered drinks which were all delivered at different times. My husband, myself and my friends will never eat or spend any money at the Drake again.
Had a great night out with friends. Started with a meal, then headed upstairs to the bar for a couple of drinks before returning to the main floor where the nights festivities are just starting. Great night all around!
Lovely evening out, really enjoyable - my niece had a memorable 21st bday :) thanks!
