Had a great night out with friends. Started with a meal, then headed upstairs to the bar for a couple of drinks before returning to the main floor where the nights festivities are just starting. Great night all around!
Lovely evening out, really enjoyable - my niece had a memorable 21st bday :) thanks!
Came for brunch with my parents (75 years old) and my daughter (16 months. Everyone loved it. Our server was excellent. Always a pleasure to come to brunch at the Drake!
Cool vibes. We dropped in for dinner after watching the Marlies at Ricoh. Great service with awesome decor & ambiance! Highly recommended!
Food was good but the server was not great. I had asked if it was possible to add more seating to our table and the waitress asked me to coordinate with the hostess myself instead of asking for me while I was already in the middle of dinner. Not sure why I had to do it but I ended up leaving the dinner to go and coordinate but the hostess was great she did everything for me. One of the runners also had accidently given a plate of fries to the wrong person but instead of just bringing out another plate the waitress took the plate from my friend while she was still eating it and said this was not for you! Overall she was just not very helpful or professional, I would expect if the restaurant will add gratuity automatically that at least the service should be above par.
So glad I live next to this place.
Great food, service, music, wines, cocktails ...
A bit pricey but worth it.
The service was terrible and the food wasn’t good
You can't drink until 11:00am!!!! Our server was very nice about it though.
Busy Saturday. Would have enjoyed the main restaurant however I understand when it is busy. Server was very nice and kept good conversation. Coffee was good, mimosa’s were prompt. Will defiantly go back!
Food and service always solid.
The waitress admitted to us that the breakfast burritos are prerolled, and when we got them, it was very obvious. Food was not good. Coffee was even worse. Service was ok at best.
We had a lovely time like we always do at The Drake.
Fab dinner- we ordered almost the whole menu... super sweet energetic server.
Cool spot and vibe for afternoon girls get together. Breakfast for lunch is the best! Burrito was so yummy topped off by sparkling Aperole spritz and service from Zak.
Great brunch 👍
Reserved a table for six, dinner time on a busy saturday. First time dinning in. The restaurant is a tourist spot with good ambiance. However the food quality was mediocre, don't bother with the spaghetti unless you prefer child size portions. Staff was nice and professional but very slow in service. I would check out there summer patio but definitely overrated. So many other better spots in same location. If you want a good vibe for drinks this is the place.
Everything was terrible: food (cold and poorly executed), service (slow, plus completely absentminded server), poor cleanliness (of cutlery, cups) and overly priced menu items ($9 for plain 'drake' fries and $11 for tiniest scones ever??). This was to be a special (birthday + family day) occasion of which Drake was notified. However, not entirely certain what the point of that was as stuff made no effort in recognizing it.
When booked online we got the booth in the middle and when asked for a window table we were told that they were for parties of five plus people. We were group of four that always promotes Drake locations to our colleagues and friends and out of towners. In ten minutes of seating two groups of three and two were seated at the window tables.
Always a wonderful time at the drake. Had a lovely brunch. Excellent friendly service. Had our 2.5yo with us and the staff were fabulous with her. Great meal. Thanks
Loved our server. Atmosphere was very warm and upscale. Food was very good and decently priced for Toronto.
I wasn't gonna say anything but since I left the place, something is been bothering me a lot.
I made a dinner reservation for my Anniversary on Feb 15th. When I got there I'm told were gonna sit at the cafe, which felt wrong and weird but I wanted it to be a pleasant night so I let it go. Then we're put in a table just by the entrance between the cafe and the hotel. It was weird specially because there was a bright light coming direct in my eyes so I asked to change tables. While I was asking the hostess to switch tables I also asked her about the restaurant. Only then she informed me that the restaurant was booked due to a party. The hostess didn't seem to be interested in explaining anything to us our make our night special (as it was supposed to be - I mentioned on my reservation that it was my anniversary). She briefly mentioned the Sky Yard but never asked us if we were interested in a table up there. As far as I know it's open during winter as well. Again, because I was trying not to get stressed out since that was supposed to be a special night, I didn't say anything. But that really bothered me. The hostess wasn't a very pleasant person, they NEVER called us to say "So, the restaurant is booked for a party so is that ok if I put on the cafe?" Nothing. I felt really frustrated when I left. A) Because I didn't plan to have my anniversary dinner at a cafe and B) because they didn't let us know in advance C) I didn't say anything 'cause I didn't want to ruin it all. And besides I would have to go to the stress of finding us a place to go in the middle of the night.
I feel that if they had telephoned me before, I could have gone to somewhere else on that night but than I could've planed to go to Drake on a different night. Now I'm not sure if I'm coming back and to everyone that ask me about my experience there, I always tell this story and I don't recommend the place.
The food is so good, some of the choices are a bit expensive. I would go back again.
I booked Valentines dinner reservation in the lounge and it was Tuesday Trivia Night; so much fun! We had a great meal, service was great despite the relative mayhem, and we learned, humbly, that we’re not as clever as we thought....
Went for Valentine’s Day date, ended up staying for trivia (didn’t know about it before) and had so much fun! Definitely coming back for more fried chicken & trivia.
I didn't like this place in my first experiencie. I went there with my boyfriend in Valentine's day. I reserved a table before, when I still there: first at the bar was great: good drinks. After that we moved for a reserved table in the coffe place. We didn't have a table on the Restaurant. We started with drinks on the bar and when we moved the drinks stayed on the bar. The Wateirs didn't asked about the drinks. We ordered the bill and anybody asked why...
Attendence, place and food are a worst experiêncie in this place. Friends said me about this place and don't recommend ano now I know why.
NOT a good experience. The food menu isn’t really limited. I got the Drake burger and the fries were super greasy.
Not many options to have a proper dinner.
Not only was the food and atmosphere fantastic for a Friday night, the staff were exceptionally accommodating and knowledgable about their menu. Our waitress (sorry, forgot her name), so kind, funny and gave us the best recommendations from their menu and was very helpful with our requests. The Lounge transitioned seamlessly into a 'club' and the DJ that night was on point with current and old-school hip hop with a sprinkling of socca and dancehall. I would definitely go back again.
Got our order wrong; food was cold; waitress was ambivalent.
The waiter was awful. The waiter took ages to come to our table and couldn't even be bothered to fill our water.
The food was awful. Everyone's food arrived to the table cold.
Mine being the coldest. I sent it back and all they could do was microwave the chicken and the rest of the dish was still cold. I then told the waiter this and his response was to shrug.
I wouldn't recommend The Drake for brunch and I won't be going back.
Great brunch spot on a snowy Sunday! free parking till 1pm, Service was perfect, comfortable booths, cool vibe but not too loud, excellent eggs Benedict! Will definitely be back.
Went for a lovely Winterlicious meal. The service was excellent, and all the food was great. My only complaint was occasional rumbling in the dining room, possibly from a concert or show of some kind.
Service was terrible. People next to us ordered the same appetizer and were served first. Seems as if since they were wearing suits, the servers were more attentive to them throughout the night. Won't be back.
Hmmmm.....lots of hype....not as impressed with our experience. Greeter and main waitress where attentive and helpful. Chef/kitchen staff who delivered the dessert avoided the truth about the dessert and said 'that's the way it comes'. When shown the menu card, he took the altered dessert away. After a fair wait and the waitress' inquiry, it became evident that he should have said, " We're run out of that part and have made a substitution. " It's a simple thing but a respectful way to treat a customer. Other parts of the meal were reasonable; the pasta dish was possibly trendy but not flavourful. I had really hoped that the Drake lunch would match it's promoted reputation but this first visit didn't get there.
Good experience but the food wasn’t the best
Wonderful night vibe! A great spot to grab drinks and dance. We had a great experience overall!! My friends and I will definitely be back!
There were four of us (two couples) and we’re young professional and finally in the stage where we can afford a little nicer restaurants. We heard great things about the drake and decided to try winterlicious. Our reservation was for 815 and we had to wait around 15min for our table, then our waitress was extremely irritated with our group as we were supposedly the youngest there. She refused to answer our suggestions, when I asked her for a drink suggestions she just stood there annoyed until I finally gave in and just pointed at a drink. The glass one of my friends received with his beer smelt like bleach and he asked for a new drink. The waitress threw out the beer and said he could have the half a beer left in the can at no cost, instead of bringing him another as he asked. She was rushing us the entire night to the point where my partner had not finished his entree when she brought out all the desserts (some with ice cream that melted) when he had not even finished half his chicken. She ended up taking the costs of our drinks off the bill, but overall our first experience at the drake was extremely dissapointing. As soon as we walked in, it was evident that we were not being treated as the other tables around due to our age. We’re in our mid 20s and all are working and it was very disappointing to be treated like we were 16 being aggressively and loudly asked for our ids and rushed through our entire meal. It’s unfortunate that our first experience at a nicer (supposed restaurants that caters to younger clientele) restaurant was so negative. None of us appreciate spending some of the first real money we’ve been earning since we’ve left school to be treated like teenagers who don’t tip and it beijg made clear that we were not welcomed and didn’t “fit in” to the other customers there.
The food was all over the place - all five of us like our entrees, or aspects of our entrees, but the appetizers were less successful (and expensive). We were here for Winterlicious and the one person who didn't get that menu got way less food for more money.
The prices are really the problem; I know lots of places in Toronto where I can get better food for less. I have no problem paying for amazing food but this food was fine.
Went in for my birthday, which happened to be the first day of Winterlicious. Was happy (and surprised) that I managed to get a table for 8 for Friday night with less than 24 hours.
Like all the Drake properties, the space and ambience is spot on. Unfortunately the food and service didn't reflect this. Some of us ordered off the regular menu, and others of the Winterlicious one, and everything was just "meh". Nothing special, given the prices. The Winterlicious pasta and meatballs looked like boxed pasta covered in a watery tomato sauce.
Service was similarly... ok. We waited between 45 mins and an hour between courses. Water was only filled twice. Waited just as long for our bill.
Very cool space that has a stylish ambiance and serves an excellent burger that happily, unlike most restos, does come medium if you ask for it. (pink center)
I dined here on a weekday evening in January 2018 with friends.
The bar area was packed but the restaurant at the back was completely empty, presumably they had planned it that way. We were the last table before the empty restaurant, which was a bit odd for people facing that way as it looked empty. We were pleased the bar had a good atmosphere for a Tuesday.
I ate the burger. There's a lot of articles out there saying it's one of the best in Toronto, it was very good and I would both eat it again and recommend it to friends. It's a varied and diverse menu with lots of great options.
The best thing was the happy hour and half price bottles of wine, drinks can often increase the cost of a meal hugely, but the half price bottle of wine made this a very reasonable evening out. I'm not sure if it was a January promotion or is always available on weekdays, but I'd definitely go back for dinner for this reason.
Service was great, as with most places in Toronto. It was the first time I'd eaten at a Drake restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised.
