Beautiful location, great atmosphere and amazing service.
Very much enjoyed the atmosphere at the Drake. Low key but hip. We had our glass of sparkling wine at the bar and moved to our table for our anniversary dinner.
I find the setting of the restaurant (which is on the shore of Lake Ontario) very appealing. The food choices are not particularly appealing and the food preparation is rather bland. The prices are very high for the quality of food provided.
Great food! Sangria was a little weak - everything else was awesome.
I would not recommend the Drake Devonshire as it was incredibly over priced (hotel and restaurant). This survey forced me to choose something, no option for “none” so I chose “seasonal”.
I cannot wrap my head around the cost of the Inn. For that price during peak season, you could easily fly to Mexico, Cuba, or the Dominion for an all-inclusive for that price.
At dinner, my husband had the steak. He requested to have it medium rare. It was served extremely well done and the beef appeared to be old. He sent it back and another was brought out... this time it was unevenly cooked - still over cooked in some areas and undercooked in other. Unfortunately, he ended up getting ill from it.
I understand that this is a boutique hotel and it is a quaint feeling. I would certainly love to support our Canadian businesses before going abroad but, this was certainly not worth the money (hotel, restaurant, view... and not much to do in the area that was included).
Amazing views, staff and food. A must in Prince Edward Country
The food was delicious !!!!
The Drake Devonshire has done an excellent job of marketing itself as being a hip destination in Prince Edward County and is relying on its Toronto reputation. The result is that it is a pretentious, self important, over designed, over priced, out-of-place establishment. The decor is ridiculously self indulgent with just too much of everything... it needs to be "curated" -- reduced in every way.
The food is uninteresting, uninspired, over priced and just not very good at all. The crab cakes or crab balls were doughy and tasteless, the beet salad was bland and the beets were not all cooked through, the steak tartar was so boring and the meat was chunky and mealy, and the frites were about the level of a McDonalds offering at 100 times or more the price.
The best things was the coffee which was actually very good... a cappuccino.
The service was mediocre... our server greeted us cooly and didn't even look us in the eyes. We did not feel connected to any of the staff from the moment we entered the place.
The location is wonderful.
Steak was over cooked.
This was our first time here, the view is spectacular and the restaurant quaint and very pretty. My brunch came cold, but was replaced very quickly with a hot one. The service was outstanding and we will try it again.
A stormy night outside on the lake, but a cozy feeling inside the big, busy room with the picture windows. The service was excellent; the dishes were outstanding. What a change from the Devonshire Inn of old!
The food was fine, but the Drake, Queen Street, has superior food at this point.
I must say I was not impressed with our visit to the Drake Devonshire. Everyone’s meal had some issue and it led me to believe that the chef in charge got in the weeds. Over cooked steak, poorly sautéed over cooked greens, insignificant small chicken legs (seriously?!) , no oysters, sloppy plating. I would hate to think that our retirement celebration being on a Tuesday evening was the excuse for unprofessional attention to detail.
I spoke with other visitors to this restaurant and they all agreed that the Drake is not scoring any brownie points. Poor servers and even poorer food.
Management needs to address this restaurants approach and sincerity before it ends up empty. Again.
Finally I know that tipping is presently a controversial topic. The menu states that parties of eight plus will automatically be charged 18% tip. So tell me why did our party of 7 get placed in this ruling. Desperation?
Get it together people.

Amazing Service. Amazing food (brunch) and great ceasars and old fashions.
Our server was extremely skilled and courteous so want to state that upfront which helped smooth over the situation! The entrees especially the apps took way too long to reach our table or maybe just altogether forgotten which may have been attributable to the kitchen being inundated due to some private event that evening. We were reimbursed for a couple of the apps due to this issue so we appreciated that.
The room and the view was also very pleasing and would have helped to soothe but unfortunately it was undermined by the overall noise and activity in the place - at times it felt like just another boisterous Saturday night in Toronto’s South Core! I’d prefer to leave the city scene behind and a change of pace when coming out to PEC rather than bringing it along. I’ve been to the other Drake venues in the city and this just felt like more of the same so I’m not sure if that’s intentional or whether you had a different thing in mind with this PEC venture?
I had the Black Cod, not impressed. They served me the piece next to the tail, mostly spine plus lots of small bones, was not the nice fillet I was expecting. The ambiance is very nice but too dark to identify all the small bones so very difficult to eat. My wife had the truffled lasagna which was good but not great.
Nice wine list including many good local wines, serving staff were all very good. It's a busy, fun atmosphere with good staff but very disappointing food.
20 min long wait to be seated, even though we had reservations. Very loud, couldn't really have a conversation. Got delivered the wrong food. The wait for food on a Pre Fix menu was 20min. Food was OK, clearly a lot of effort in preperation and presentation. It was something I would not have made and home so the culinary experience aspect of it was nice but it was. The portions were good. Coffee after the meal was served cold which but was replaced right away (well in 5 min). Overall it was "Meh" on food. People watching was good and atmosphere was electric.
A good friend of mine and I went to The Drake Devonshire on Friday April 20th (this was my first experience at this restaurant). We had a lovely time. The staff was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Everyone (even the other patrons) were all in a great mood - but that may because it was bright, sunny and the view was memorizing.
We enjoyed the recommended wines, white - Weingurt Hirsch Gruner Veitliner (Austria) and red - Horse shoes and Hand Grenades Syrah, Cab Sav (USA)... excellent! The menu had so much to offer we decided to order share plates: Charcuterie, meat and cheese with sourdough bread and PEI mussels (the broth was amazing).
I will definitely go back!
The Drake Devonshire is beautifully situated with a relaxing atmosphere. The food was lovely and the service was excellent.
Always a pleasure
Great food, service and ambience. Will definitely return.
Great food and service with a tremendous view! Beautiful property that was an easy drive, before heading to a few local winery's!
The food (scones, pork hash and eggs benedict) we’re off the charts!! Our waiter was great and the lake view was a perfect start to our morning.
Wonderful service and great food! Will definitely return
Great meal, great service, fantastic view! Well done!
Although we love the Drake, we have found over the past few visits that the quality of food is going down and the price is going up. We will try the drame another time, but if the experience is the same as last time, we will have to find another place for special occasions.
Food had some definite highlights... But was marred by the less than good offerings. Pork hock was amazing, but the grid chicken was over cooked/dry and the accompanying fried rice was was crazy salty. (and I quite like salt). The carrots were neither sweet, savoury or well cooked. The fries and aïoli were delicious.
This meal was greatness and awfulness, if there were great dishes and mediocre ones I would have said it was very serviceable, but i don't forsee myself returning over some of the other local offerings.
Cocktails were amazing and this is definitely a solid spot for a cocktail, conversation and view.
Loved the ambience! Loved the brunch food! Loved the classy, upscale, rustic, friendly atmosphere. Still thinking about it and can't wait to go back!
We feel fortunate to have the Drake within driving distance in this area which needs so badly such good places to go to. It is a special treat to take our friends out to this lovely spot. We hope the business will do very well and we will be able to enjoy it for a while. The service is perfect and the choices on the menu rich. Thank you for your service and originality.
The Avocado Toast is a fan favourite of mine and my daughters. We keep coming back for more.
Friendly staff providing great food in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Our table was perfectly positioned for a beautiful view of Lake Ontario.
Fantastic as always. Guinness Pie and Black Cod entrees. Worth the drive. Beautiful views and great service.
Great location and excellent décor. Food was disappointing, no vegan options.
We enjoyed the entire experience at the Drake. From the personable service, to the outstanding view of the lake, it was well worth the drive from Belleville. We had a toddler and a baby with us and the staff were very accommodating. More importantly, the food was exceptional. The deep fried chicken was a surprising hit. The fresh eclectic bread choices were also delightful. Of all of the restaurants we have eaten in since our move to Belleville two years ago, this one is now our new favourite. It is well worth the drive.
It was a lovely meal overlooking Lake Ontario.
The food and service were great in a fantastic spot
The Drake Devonshire Caesar is my new favourite
Unfortunately it is a bit pricey, especially by County standards
Great atmosphere and service but food was average considering the price. Would recommend checking it out for a drink but I don’t think I’ll be going back.
Very nice atmosphere, except the lighting was pretty dim. The staff were super friendly and took time to chat with you and ask you questions or make suggestions. Food was amazing!
From walking in the door, to leaving at the end, Drake Devonshire was on the ball ensuring every guest enjoyed themselves. Will be back for a third time soon.
Had a lovely time! Wholeheartedly reccommend! Can’t wait to go back.
The view and ambience are just wonderful, as is the great food, creative cocktails and the quality of the ingredients. Service was excellent, great wait staff & well taken care of - my only less than five stars would be receiving no bread at the table while awaiting the meal & the vegetarian option was small for the price with no side or even a garnish which left a sense of meagre-ness despite being delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary over dinner at the Drake Devonshire. Fantastic ambiance and a delicious meal. Everyone working there made sure our evening was special. We ended up going back the next morning for brunch and had an equally wonderful experience, both service and food. We will be back for sure and will likely stay on the property overnight.
