Great food and service.
Excellent dinner with novel preparations, great service, comfortable space
Beautiful space with inventive delicious food. Great service. Loved our visit.
I have dined here numerous times. I would like to see a fish option on the menu. But I like that the menu changes sometimes. Very eclectic menu.
Janos is always our first choice to take out of town guests....I especially love the cexquisite craft cocktails. Zane is our favorite waiter...so knowledgeable, playful and attentive.
We have always enjoyed coming here. Went with our family, 2 of us were vegans. Vegan options explained well by staff. Could be more vegan options though. African Game Changer soup was great. The Oyster mushroom dinner w/ vegan polenta was not that tasty, and the regular non-vegan Oyster mushroom dinner was just okay. Dinner orders came out very late and all four were not hot enough. Restaurant comped the Cioppino.
We were disappointed and not sure we'll be back. :-(
Great service, really delicious food. We had the calamari as a starter and absolutely loved it. The steak with mole was fantastic.
Excellent as always! First time there our friends, but I suspect it will not be there last visit.
The menu is awesome
You need a second soup
Dinner was exceptional. BBQ shrimp and grits are wonderful as was the Caesar’s salad. Presentation was lovely! Service was exceptional as always. Can’t wait to go back!
First time selected for walk ability to theater. Service worked to assure we were out timely. Food was wonderful!
Really nice meal before seeing Cirque du Soleil at the Convention Center. We started off with cocktails that were very good, the Vietnam was spicy with a great depth of flavor. Moved on to awesome BBQ Shrimp and Grits before the entrees and ended the night with the Pavlova desert...super yummy. Our server, Mariah, was also exceptional and made sure we would be out in time to get to our show.
The cocktails were wonderful. Appatiser of shrimp and cheesy grits was just OK. I thought the flavor was a little flat. The main course had the same issue. Just not as flavorful as I would have expected, but well presented.
Favorite place in Tucson. Very creative.
Easily one of the best meals I will have all year. We drove out of our way while visiting Tucson and my friends considered me a hero for finding the place. You CANNOT go wrong choosing this for dinner and drinks.
A pleasure as always.
Fun, creative menu. Very accommodating service from reservation changes through dinner. The mole sauce with the perfectly cooked ribeye was extraordinary!
Extremely friendly service. Delicious food and unique food.
My husband and I hadn't been to downtown Tucson for quite some time. Two weeks ago, a friend recommended we check it out saying that it has grown -- new restaurants, bars and shops. We were not disappointed; it was bustling with people as this was a Friday night. We had reservations at Downtown Kitchen -- we had it on good word that it was a good spot to celebrate. And man did they deliver. Lovely service, knowledgeable staff, delicious food and great people watching. Little too loud for our taste, but it didn't matter, it was fun. Thank you for giving us a wonderful dining experience on our 36th wedding anniversary.
Keep up the great work!
Fun spot, weird menu. Kitchen is accommodating as to variations in the menu.
once again, food is superb, service was great, always look forward to visiting when in town
The food was fantastic!!
Service was excellent! Food was delicious - always! Wonderful flavors - a must visit.
OMG, OMG winner, winner the Sunday Chicken Dinner!!! Perfectly cooked, deliciously seasoned chicken. The wait staff is very knowledgeable, attentive and you will know why these recipes came from a James Beard award winning chef.
Really enjoyed the vibe and the food was spectacular. Don't miss the pork belly donuts. Arrive early, have a drink at the bar and chat with Chuck.
Took out of towner expecting an excellent Tucson experience. The place is great service was fine, but the food was mediocre yet still costly. What happened to the crackling place it used to be Janos😬
Great meal, and great service. Not much more can be asked for. Thanks DTK&C!
Have visited Downtown Kitchen many times since they opened and have always enjoyed every aspect of each experience. This visit was the exception. Even though the food was as excellent as ever, we all agreed that the service was poor. Even though we told our waiter that we were going to want to order a bottle of wine with our main course, he never returned to ask our wine choice. We were never visited by him again until after we had finished our meals (served by others). This was not a busy time as the dining room was only 1/3 full and the service staff was everywhere. It just seemed to us that we were an order to be filled and nothing else. I even tried to get out waiters attention when he walked by but he didn't even look at us. Since I have always recommended Downtown and had brought three friends in for their first Downtown experience, I was quite disappointed by the lack of service on this visit. Do better, Downtown Kitchen.
Love this place, and the menu will never get old because they are always changing it and adding new dishes
Downtown Kitchen and Cocktails is one of my wife and I favorite places to eat. The food is always good, service is great and the atmosphere is is eclectic. Chef and owner Janos changes the menu frequently, so it's never the same thing twice. We generally have some cocktails, appetizer, entree and dessert without spending too much. Great place for a group or a couple.
As usual DTK rocks! One of our favorite restaurants in Tucson. I had Ciopinno and my husband had something with tofu called MaPo (can't remember the rest). However, reservations at 6:00 found the DTK out of the Sunday fried chicken special. Must remember to request them to save me some--that's what I went for.
The waiter tried to push us into ordering different (and more expensive) meals saying there were complaints about what we tried to order. The pork wrapped in pork belly was severely undercooked and almost nauseating. The shrimp and grits appetiser was good but $13 for 3 shrimp was a bit pricey. On a good note, the cocktails were fabulous.
The food is always tasty, trendy, and prepared perfectly. A great place to eat when downtown and the patio option is special. The wine list is small but creative. One of our favorites.
App, salad and dessert delicious. Entrees were ok. Menu is too eclectic for our tastes. Like the room but would prefer something quieter. Staff was great.
Nice romantic valentines dinner.
Good food pairings with imaginative food selections.
We were trying to book for Valentine’s Day and tried too late so we booked the night before! Just a couple dozen people in the whole restaurant!! Good idea... may become the new tradition. The presentation is over the top... like squeeze bottles for every sauce in the back of the house... I’m sure that looks pretty cool to most diners. I wish they’d explain the chicken breast to guests... it’s a retro called an airline breast! It presents nicely!!
Always great food and service.
Odd spot. Jetson mid century plastic/vinyl furniture in Southwestern setting with a metro-esque clientele. Sorta pretentious menu. But the food was well prepared, the servers attentive, and the ambiance very calming.
Best food we have had in Tucson. Definitely has a southwestern flare to the palate. Desert was exceptional!
