Great Happy Hour offerings, service was precise and staff was very knowledgeable of the ingredients in the dishes. Their burger and beef cheek tacos are fantastic! We were visiting from Phoenix, definitely worth the drive. The only glitch was with our reservation, I logged on to Open Table around 9am, made the reservation for 4 people at 6:30p but when we arrived they had us scheduled for a 7:15p time slot and only for 2 people. We did pick up another person, so we ended up with 5 total, so we decided to show up early. In the end we were seated outside on a windy brisk night, however the highlight of the night was that without knowing we were early enough to take advantage of their Happy Hour menu. I thought it was very gracious for the staff to accommodate us with our additional guest.

Excellent appetizers and desserts, love the ambience. Enjoyed the duck. It was done perfectly. Would have liked a more quality bread instead of tasteless French. But that won’t keep me away.

Our server, Julie (Julia?) was very friendly and helpful, offering wine suggestions and tastings. We were there for a theater show that was cancelled. She made it her business to let us know what was happening.

Our server Shelby was knowledgeable, energetic and very pleasant who enjoyed working each of our party of four. We loved her.
The food and drinks lived up to their moderate to expensive price ranges. We all loved our selections.

We haven't eaten here in a few years. For a Saturday night it was surprisingly not very crowded. It was still warm so we enjoyed a quiet dinner on the outdoor patio. Wines by the glass were affordably priced with good pours. They made a salad for my wife that wasn't on the menu which we appreciated. The seafood dish I ordered was tasty if not exactly what was described. The menu was rather eclectic and changes, so you may want to verify the menu before you go.

It just doesn't get any better. Downtown Kitchen was marvewlously great. I find it difficult to get a great Cippolino, but DTK never fails. They really know how to do it. My hustand's duck flannel was wonderful as well as well as the pickled chard stems. And Shelby was totally fine. She even recognized me instantly though this was probably only the second time she'd waited on us. Thanks Janos and Shelby/

Ambiance was fitting for our pre theatre attendance and food had a unique presentation and character for not being specialty items. Drinks were simple, but very good. Overall we were well satisfied.

Everything was great at first. We arrived a little before 5 and the host and kitchen we're great at accomodating us for dinner: and our dinners we're delicious. But about half-way through our meal we seemed to have been forgotten or spaced out- not sure what happened. The waiter seemed split between our table and tables outside (Perhaps we were an addition and not part of his regular station for the night?) A bit of a damper to a special meal.
Having worked in the service industry, we always leave at least a 25% tip and we still did, though we questioned it. We will try again but hope for more attentive service.

I had read about the Tucson food movement so a couple of friends and myself decide to drive down from Phoenix on a Saturday and eat. I️ had the chef here and liked what I️ read. The service was really great. What I️ loved was the food. It had a middle eastern vibe like the meatballs with Pomegranate in a delicious tomato sauce. Then the chickpeas with mint and arugula with a blood orange infused olive oil. Seriously one of the best things I’ve eaten. The over all experience was great and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I️ will certainly be back.

Exceptional flavor, interesting food choices and combinations. The beet puree that was the base of my entree, was memorable because of the perfect blending of tastes and made the dish for me. Clearly a gifted chef created these sumptuous meals. Good wine selection and great service.

I've gone multiple times to Downtown Kitchen since it opened (and previously to Janos and J-Bar over 30 years). I honestly don't believe that DK has missed a step. To celebrate the occasion of my first visit to the downtown location of Janos long ago, I had the green-tea smoked duck as an entree, which was served at that location. It was as wonderful as I remembered. We had the pork belly donuts and the calamari as appetizers. The idea of a pork belly donut might raise eyebrows, but it worked. The calamari was perhaps the highlight of the evening. Tender, with wonderful spicing. Could have eaten that dish alone and gone home happy. The wine by the glass was reasonably priced and everyone liked their choices, red or white. At present, the theme is Lebanese and the fixed price dinner for that theme seemed inventive and of good value. Janos rocks.

Went for a birthday dinner on a quiet Thursday. Greatly enjoyed our appetizers, superlative (duck rillettes tartine, pork belly donuts)! Anticipating the same deliciouness for our main courses, unfortunately, we were very disappointed. My tea smoked duck was barely warm and quite dry. My husband was not impressed with the Mixed Grill. Mom and her friend unhappy with their lamb meatballs, Kibbeh. They described them as doughy with no taste of lamb.
