DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails Ratings and Reviews
Excellent, unique menu! We had the garlic bread appetizer with a sauce and mushrooms on it. We loved it! Each of our meals was delicious and flavorful. We tried the pork with cherry sauce and goat cheese as well as the steak. dinner. The wine list wasn't extensive but the Napa Cru 2014 cabernet was really good with our meal. The service was very good and the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for good dining and conversation. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
First visit and we loved celebrating our anniversary at Downtown Kitchen, the cocktails actually had liquor in them and were original and wonderful and my duck was so tender. The calamari may be the best ever and we have been ordering and comparing that dish for 31 years together!
I don't think it's fair that you cannot get the happy hour special pricing when you are sitting at a table. I just don't think that is right. We were having dinner there early. It was two couples. A little price break on the cocktails and the appies would have been greatly appreciated.
We had another outstanding meal at our favorite Tucson restaurant. The calamari was mouthwatering, the warm homemade bread was tantalizing, and the salmon entree was delicious. Service was helpful and friendly. Our waitress recommended an excellent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, which was a great value. Janos, the owner, also took the time to greet diners and solicit their feedback. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!
Great food as usual. The presentation makes a meal here a work of art(in many ways). The shrimp ceviche was fantastic. The bacon wrapped quail and the lamb shank entrees exceeded expectations. We usually don't have dessert but the bread pudding is not to be missed!
The restaurant has a really nice vib. The waitstaff is very good. The food was excellent with the exception of the tonic water. It was awful but the waiter took it back and did not charge which was nice. That fancy Tonic Q is unpalatable and I hope that is not always going to be served.
Downtown Kitchen is our go-to restaurant for special occasions and if we just want to have a casual meal at the bar. The food is excellent, the wait staff is friendly and fun and we always have a wonderful experience. Last night was a birthday celebration and we had a great time, as usual!
Janos' menu is interesting yet boring. Lots of similar flavors, just different protein. Needs to vary the entrees. Sometimes 3 or 4 things sound good, other days you aren't interested. Service is still good, the food has lost its luster. Probably eaten there 20+ times.
Always dependably delicious, with attentive service. They always make sure we are served in plenty of time to get to the theater. We have ordered the pork tenderloin on three occasions and it is consistently wonderful. Best pork tenderloin I've ever eaten! Three of the four of us ordered it this time and loved it. The fourth had the salmon and liked it as well. Keep up the good work Janos! (And do bring back the beef cheeks soon - another favorite we like at DK&C.)
In Tucson with co-workers for a meeting and Downtown was recommended by a local friend. Food was fantastic - I had the pork tenderloin with apples and grapes sitting on pureed sweet potato. Wine list was excellent and the bread with olive oil dipping spices was great. Only disappointment was I too full to try the bread pudding which sounded like it would be fabulous. If I'm in town again, Downtown will definitely be on my list.
