A very unique menu with a Mexican accent. I was impressed that my entree was cooked exactly to more order - not to the chef's preference. Great cocktails, with some that are very unusual, but good. A wonderful Caesar salad started off our dinner, and the desserts were wonderful!
Chef Janos Wilder has a gem in old Tucson! Dined with friends on 01/15/2017 after a day at the Jazz Festival. Mariah was an excellent helpful server. Mariah suggested one of the best Pinot Noirs from Oregon we had ever sampled.
We shared a plate of Calamari among the four of us which was the most delicate I've ever had! Two of us had the Wild Mushroom plates, another the Chiopino and lastly the duck. All were superb!
We all shared his chocolate jalapeño decadence after dinner. What an amazing dessert!
I have always loved Janos' flavor combinations. I will go back!
Food was great. Good gluten-free selections. We will be back. Friendly staff!
We made last minute reservations for 8 during the Tucson Jazz Festival. We waited only a few minutes for our table to be ready. Very attentive wait staff. Pork belly donuts intriguing. Chorizo with cheesy grits quite tasty. Warm Oaxaca peanuts surprisingly good. Broad range of entrees all appreciated. Very pleasant experience for both locals and visitors.
Excellent food and service. All meals were delicious!
This place was outstanding and truly lives up to Tucson UNESCO rating for using locally-sourced foods. The only disappointment was that they were out of the dinner special. Who knew you could/should order it ahead?! They were extremely accommodating to my husband's needs, as he is a very picky eater. They took their rib eye steak with mole and made it plain and gave him fries on the side. He was so happy, and the steak was cooked to perfection, with delicious seasoning. The corn rilette was amazing! My duck breast was also SO tender (sous vide?) and the sauce and accompanying sweet potatoes and veggies was delicious. The Caesar salad for starters had a delicious, creamy dressing over whole cold, crisp leaves of romaine. Fresh parm and to-die-for homemade croutons rounded it off. A nice wine and cocktail list also showed the same creativity as the menu. The atmosphere was a nice urban chic, suitable for any occasion. Most tables were full, but even with high ceilings and lots of wood, it was not noisy. Sat in a great, comfy booth and had a fantastic evening. Server, a native Tucson-ite, was fabulous, too. He steered us to the bread pudding for dessert and boy was that fantastic, too! Was dubious about the "hint" of squash, but think pumpkin. Will so be back!
Possibly the best meal I've ever had!!! Grilled Garlic+Mushroom Bread starter was shared and loved by all. The Roasted Mushroom with Polenta was pure WOW! And the Oaxacan Bread Pudding with Rum Raisin ice cream was to die for!
Food was delicious as usual. They forgot our appetizer and so we were surprised when main course showed up while we were enjoying our cocktails. Our server was surprised as well when he came back to check on us. I entrees had been presented to us by another member of the staff.
Enjoyed dinner before concert. They were very helpful getting us out in time.
Great dinner, wonder service, a very pleasant evening.
